1 In The House of Lylander Below is a compilation of characters connected to Lord Lylander, an influential lord within the Eastern Territory. By supplying a group of characters all connected to one it allows a G.M. to use them together in a single storyline, or to use them separately as he/she sees fit. The character's are as follows: Lyris: Noble daughter of Lylander. Slanderously, she enjoys the idea of being a knight more than a proper lady. Drakmar: Mercenary, hired as a bodyguard for Lyris. His larger than typical human size cause some to speculate he has Orge (or other Giant) blood in him. Despite this Lylander never questions his loyalty. The two appear to have some type of history, but none quite know what that history is. Malik: Knight errant that hails from the Western Empire, and some suspect he still has connections. However, Lylander trusts him. He remains to instruct Lyris in the ways of a knight, but does he have ulterior motives? Praxlis: Squire and loyal servant to Malik. Zaul: Long Bowman in the service of Lylander, serving within the army. Cypherius: Soldier in the service of Lylander, serving within the army. Dibbos: Mercenary in the service of Lylander, serving within the army. With the decades of loyal service from the mercenary Drakmar, mercenaries as a whole hold an esteemed value within the army. But is it all well deserved? Marcoso: Assassin hired to kill the Lylander.

P. : 3255 H.P. : 16 S.D.C. : 40 P.P.E. : 6 Attacks: 5 Exp. L. : 2 Appearance : She is extremely attractive with beauty that is befitting of an elf. She has straight, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Her hair is straight and stretches half way down her back and is well taken care of. She usually wears a decorative comb in her hair that can also be used as a minor weapon in an emergency. When she is wearing her armour, she pulls her hair back into more of a pony tail and has it tucked into the helmet to help make sure it does not get in the way. If not dressed for battle, she is usually dressed in finer clothing fit of a noble or in her riding clothes. Her armour and her two main weapons (a finely crafted long sword and dagger) all form a matching set. They are all magically colored a whitish/grey. The armour fits her figure nicely and helps show her womanly figure. Across the chest is her family crest (altered slightly to make her own symbol) marked in silver. She wears her shield across her back, held on by two leather straps, to help protect her from unseen attacks. This shield is small enough to be easily concealed by the long navy blue cape she wears. On her cape is also a copy of her family crest (same as above), also marked in silver. The blades of the two weapons are beautifully decorated and their handles are wrapped in a navy blue silk. The wrappings can be easily replaced should something happen to them. When she first began to train him, she viewed him as nothing more than a riding horse to be used as she saw fit. However, since that time, she has grown attached to him, a fact that has caught her off guard. After that, she appropriately named him Rinstad, which is the Elven word for Spirit of the Wind. He has remained faithful to her since the beginning and will not leave her (unless she dies). Has a running speed of 33 and is valued at 2,000 gold. 33 S.D.C., 26 H.P. 4 Family : She is the oldest daughter of Lord Lylander and has a younger sister named Renia (only half sister) who is 11 years old. Her mother has been dead since as far back as she can remember. Whenever she would ask her father, or any of the servants, about her departed mother, they would all refuse to discuss the subject. This is something that has always made her wonder if there is something more to it then what was told to her. The Star Sapphire necklace, worn around her neck at all times, is the only thing she has of her mothers. For this reason, she views the necklace as an almost sacred item. Religion : Lyris and her family are followers of the Church of Light and Dark. Lyris publicly worships Bennu, the Phoenix. Although Bennu has her flaws, Lyris feels she is the only gods of light that does not pretend, or force himself, to always do good. For this reason, she feels the most connected to her. However, in her heart, she holds great respect for Anhur, the Slayer of Enemies. She respects him not only as a warrior, but also for his code of honor. However, since he is officially a god of dark, she does not publicly declare this because it would go against the ways of her family and may bring them dishonor. For this reason, she only worships him in secret. Disposition : Lyris is, for all tense and purposes, a snob. She is not fond of the other races, but will tolerate them when necessary. It is possible for her to become friends with one of them should they prove that they are worthy of her presence. She feels that she is better than almost everyone else due to her noble blood. She is also quite aware of her beauty which only adds to her feeling of superiority. She values the lives of those under her father s direct rule (a major land owner). This is not to say she doesn t value the life of other s, just that their lives take top priority. If she is faced with an evil enemy, she will have no problems killing them. They simply get what they deserve. She feels that she is most complete while in a fight. Despite this fact, she does not go around looking for fights, simply won t back down from one and fears no enemy. This is mainly because she feels she can take anyone in a fight.

The third child is a sister who is now married. She lives with her husband who is a blacksmith of a neighboring town. The youngest is a brother who now takes care of the farm they grew up on.

6 Disposition : He was not only hired as a bodyguard for Lyris, but also as a mentor: someone who would teach her the difference between right and wrong. Her father hopes that he can teach her that all life is just as important as any other. He also takes the same attitude with any group he encounters. If they are doing something he feels is wrong, he won t hesitate to speak his mind. He ll try to get them to do the right thing, but won t interfere. However, if what they are doing is extremely wrong, usually involving someone s life, he ll take action to stop them.

8 Family : He is the oldest of five children. Not much is known about the other four brothers other than the still live on the Western Empire where they grew up. He came to the Eastern Territory at the age of thirteen. Disposition : He's a skilled knight and makes sure everyone knows it. On occasion, he has been known to pick on a new comer to show him who is boss, and to remind everyone else. He is rather fond of Praxlis. To increase the bond between them, he has learned to read and write Dwarven, as well as despises elves. Many believe him to be a spy working for the Western Empire due to his heritage. However, there is no proof to confirm this belief. Agaidi : Type : Flamberge sword with a black blade; Greater Rune Weapon. Damage : 4D6 Alignment : Anarchist Powers : All common rune powers. Also, the sword is able to perform the magical technique of the R Alum Slash. The technique was created by a famous Elven sorcerer. When the wielder slashes the sword at an opponent and says the words, R Alum Slash, a shockwave is emitted from the blade. The shockwave begins from the tip of the blade and moves outward in a cone shape. It spreads to a maximum of ten feet in front of the sword with a five foot radius at the end. The shockwave inflicts 4D6 points of damage to everything within its path. The R Alum Slash can be used up to three times per 24 hour period. Also, most rune weapons will naturally attempt to reject any type of magic directed towards it. However, Agaidi is willing to except the casting of blade spells (only blade spells; no other types of magic) upon it. This is strange considering its extremely conceited attitude. Agaidi (not the wielder) has an additional +6 to save versus all other types of magic. Curse : None. Personality : Agaidi is extremely conceited. It feels it is the greatest rune weapon ever made and doesn t mind hurting anyone who doubts it. It will find a wielder who has a similar disposition. Also, Agaidi is fond of dwarves and hates elves. History : Agaidi was one of the last rune weapons ever created. It was forged for the legendary Blade Caster, Elsudia near the end of the Elf-Dwarf War. She was well known for casting the Speed Weapon Spell on the sword to maximize the number of her attacks. The sword itself is quite fond of the spell. At the end of the war, she disappeared along with the sword. She was last seen fighting a group of elven forces right before the Great Cataclysm. It is believed by most that she fell in the fierce battle and her sword lost to the ages. However, some believe that she emerged victorious from the battle and was one of the legendary Blade Casters who fled into the mountains after the war. Two years ago, the sword was discovered near the Old Kingdom Mountains. Its current owner is a wandering human knight named Sir Malik. The two have been together for only a couple of months, but their personalities are so similar that they have already formed a link. He was last seen traveling through the Eastern Territory.

10 Family : An only child. Disposition : A lackey to Lord Malik. Even though he is superior to Lord Malik in most ways, he believes Lord Malik is an unbeatable, almost godlike person. He would do anything to please him. He learned to speak and write the Western language to be more like him. The only way this would change is if Lord Malik was beaten in single combat by another warrior. If this were to happen, his reaction would be unpredictable. He could deny the incident ever happened, start worshipping the victor, come to the realization that Lord Malik is just human and go off on his own, or something else. There is a rumor that there is something more between the two than just friendship, but there is no proof to confirm this rumor.

13 Family : He had an elder brother named Aldonnis. At the age of 14, he was killed protecting Cypherius from a couple of muggers. He always felt he owed Aldonnis a debt and decided to repay it by fulfilling his brother s dream of joining the military. So when he became old enough he joined the army of Lord Lylander. He feels his motivations are of a personal nature and not likely to discuss it to others. His brother had a tendency to call him Cyph. If someone else calls him this, he ll take offense. Disposition : He tends to be intellectual, looking at things from a logical point of view. Although he is a soldier, he tries to avoid fights. However, once he is in battle, he relies heavily on his natural ability to fight. His gift for fighting makes him a force to be reckoned with.
