2 2018 FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP Bulletin The FISU World University Wushu Championship is a single sport competition organized for university athletes and falls under the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Championships Sports Programme. As approved by FISU, the first World University Wushu Championship shall take place in Macau, China in Information will be updated as time progresses on the official website of the competition: A. DATE & PLACE The 2018 FISU World University Wushu Championship will take place from August 2 nd to August 5 th 2018 in Macau, China. B. VENUES 1. Competition Venue: Macao Forum. 2. Training & Warm-Up Venue: Macao Polytechnic Institute Pavilion. C. COMPETITION EVENTS 1. Taolu Events: Men's Events (7 Events): Changquan Daoshu Gunshu Nanquan Nangun Taijiquan Taijijian Women's Events (7 Events): Changquan Jianshu Qiangshu Nanquan Nandao Taijiquan Taijijian 2 P age

3 2. Sanda Events: Men's Divisions (4 Events): 52kg 60kg 70kg 80kg Women's Divisions (2 Events): 52kg 60kg D. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Each participating country/region may at most submit one (1) team. 2. Each participating country s/region's team is limited to a total of twelve (12) people which comprises of the following: One (1) team leader Two (2) coaches (1 taolu coach only; 1 sanda coach only) One (1) doctor Four (4) taolu athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per taolu event) Four (4) sanda athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per weight division, with a limit of three (3) male sanda athletes in total). 3. Only the competitors who satisfy the following conditions may take part in a FISU World University Championship: Be a national of the country they represent; Be at least 17 and less than 25 years of age on January 1st in the year of the event; for 2018, athletes must be born between the 01/01/1993 and the 31/12/2000 Meet the conditions laid out below: Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country. Former students of the institutions mentioned in above who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event. E. ENTRIES 1. Entries will be submitted by each countries national university sports federation (NUSF) in collaboration with the respective national wushu federation (where applicable). 2. Each NUSF receives its own login and password to make the entries for WUC events on The Online Accreditation System(FISU-OAS): 3. 4 3 months prior - Quantitative Entries 1 months - Individual Entries F. ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION 1. All participating teams are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with the Organizing Committee on the 31 st of July Arrival after the 31 st of July 2018 may result in disqualification of the participant in question. 2. Any entry not duly confirmed at the first General Technical Meeting, will not be taken into consideration except for force majeure. 3. All Technical Officials are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with the Organizing Committee on the 31 st of July Arrival after the 31 st of July 2018 may result in disqualification of the technical official in question. G. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS 1. All international technical officials (ITOs) are appointed jointly by the IWUF and FISU. 2. The Organizing Committee and the National Sports Federation will appoint NTOs to complement the team of technical officials required for Wushu. H. TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting for team managers and coaches will take place in at 10:00 (Macau Time) on August 1 st, 2018 during which all matters related to the competition will be announced. Each team should send two representatives for taolu and two representatives for sanda to attend this meeting. I. DRAWING LOTS CEREMONY The drawing-lots will be conducted following the Technical Meeting on August 1 st, Each team may send two taolu and two sanda representatives to attend the ceremony. The Technical Delegate will draw on behalf of the teams that are unable to send a representative to attend. J. WEIGHING-IN 1. The weighing-in for sanda athletes will take place at 07:00 (Macau Time) on August 1 st, K. PLACING & AWARDS 1. Taolu: - 1 st place Gold Medal & Certificate - 2 nd place Silver Medal & Certificate - 3 rd place Bronze Medal & Certificate - 4 th 8 th place Certificate 2. 5 L. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS 1. All Participants (Athletes & Team Officials) The international airfare and related travel expenses of all participants shall be borne by the teams themselves. Each participant is required to pay a participation fee to the Organizing Committee which covers full board and event services (total fee = number of nights x number of delegation members x 70 euros). Three (3) months before the Championship, the Organizing Committee has the right to collect 25% of the total cost of stay per athlete and official from participating countries. Upon arrival, all teams are required to pay their outstanding participation and any other required fees. M. DOPING CONTROL Doping control will be conducted during the Universiade according to the requirements of FISU and World Anti-Doping Agency. TAOLU COMPETITION A. COMPETITION EVENTS Men's Events (7 Events): Changquan Daoshu Gunshu Nanquan Nangun Taijiquan Taijijian Women's Events (7 Events): Changquan Jianshu Qiangshu Nanquan Nandao Taijiquan Taijijian B. PARTICIPATION METHODS 1. Each team may submit at most four (4) taolu athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per taolu event) 2. Each competitor should bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the start of the 5 P age

6 competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate. C. COMPETITION METHODS 1. Competition includes individual competition only. 2. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2005 edition of the IWUF Rules for International Wushu Taolu Competition and utilize the Non-Degree of Difficulty Scoring Method (comprising of A Group Quality of Movements Scoring & B Group Overall Performance Scoring only). 3. All routines are permitted as long as they conform to the compulsory technique content and time requirements of each event. With that, athletes may include degree of difficulty techniques or not. 4. Time Limits: For Changquan, Daoshu, Gunshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Nanquan, Nangun & Nandao, each routine s duration shall be no less than one minute and twenty seconds (1min 20s). For Taijiquan and Taijijian, each routine s duration shall be between three (3) to four (4) minutes 5. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF. D. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENT 1. Competitors shall wear wushu competition costumes in compliance with the rules during all events. This must be brought & prepared by the competitors themselves. All weaponry must conform to the requirements as stipulated in the rules. This must be provided by the competitors themselves. E. PLACING & AWARDS Awarding for all Taolu events will be respectively as follows: 1. 1 st 8 th place: If the number of competitors is 10 and above in a combined division 2. 1 st - 3 rd place: If the number of competitors is between 6 & 9 in a combined division 3. 1 st 2 nd place: If the number of competitors is between 3 & 5 in a combined division 4. No placing or awards will be bestowed if the number of competitors in a combined event comprises of 2 (two) or less competitors. SANDA COMPETITION A. COMPETITION EVENTS Men's Divisions (4 Events): 52kg 60kg 70kg 80kg 6 P age

7 Women's Divisions (2 Events): 52kg 60kg B. PARTICIPATION METHODS 1. Each team may submit fat most four (4) sanda athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per weight division, with a limit of three (3) male sanda athletes in total). Each team may enter only one (1) athlete per weight category, and each athlete may enter only one (1) weight category. 2. Each competitor should bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the start of the competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate. All competitors are required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities form. C. COMPETITION METHODS 1. The competition will be Individual Competition. 2. The single knockout system will be adopted. If the number of competitors is 3 or less, a single round robin method will be adopted. 3. Following arrival and registration, the athletes will go through the initial weighing in and drawing lots formalities as stipulated in the schedule. 4. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with the IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules & Judging Method The duration of each round shall be 2 (two) minutes with a 1 (one) minute rest interval between rounds. 6. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF. D. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENT 1. Competitors shall wear costumes and protective gear in compliance with the IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules & Judging Method 2017 to participate in the competition. 2. Each competitor is required to possess two (2) sets of competition costumes: one set in blue and one set in red. 3. Each competitor is required to possess their own mouth guard, jockstrap and instep guard. 4. Gloves and other protective equipment will be provided by the Organizing Committee. E. PLACING & AWARDS 1. The top three place athletes within each weight category will be receive a placing and award for both men and women. 2. Third place athletes will be placed in juxtaposition. 7 P age
