1. Series Details A general overview of series rules and regulations not directly relating to the racing Schedule, Dates & Times 1.1.a. Season Length The MX-5 World Tour s Season 15 has a 12 race regular season followed by a double distance, double points Grand Finale. The season champion is determined by the combined scores of the Championship, Miles Per Incident Bonus Points and the double point Grand Finale. 1.1.b. Day, Dates and Time Races are most Saturdays starting February 17 th and ending July 28 th with breaks for holidays and iracing special events. Session times may vary slightly throughout the season depending on a driver s global hemisphere and countries unique daylight-saving time rules. All sessions will be posted in the iracing League Section and viewable in the League Sessions tab. Participation Drivers are encouraged to race as often as possible. Nevertheless, series organizers are sympathetic to drivers real world obligations. Because the series benefits from the participation of top tier drivers, said drivers are welcome to race even on a part time basis Cars 1.2.a. Global Mazda MX-5 Cup 1.3. Tracks 1.3.a. Purchased Package Tracks Purchased tracks are on the Season 14 Schedule. Drivers are expected to own all purchased tracks. (See current season schedule for more details) 1.4. Car Numbers To help in scoring and stat keeping, drivers are required to select a preferred number. Preferred numbers will be set in iracing s league feature by the series manager. Drivers DO NOT need to assign the number to their car in iracing s Customize Cars section Custom Paint Schemes 1.5.a. Custom Paint Schemes Optional but Encouraged The series manager will be happy to provide, or help create, custom paint schemes for those drivers who desire one but lack the resources or skill set. 1.5.b. Decal Layer A decal layer for each driver will be provided to GSRC for broadcast purposes. The decal layer will overlay series and squad logos. Drivers DO NOT need to worry about including series logos on the custom paint scheme. Drivers who have a custom paint scheme that takes into account their own personal decal layer should let the series manager know so he/she can make the necessary adjustments.

1.5.c. PRO and AM class PRO and AM class are shown by a blue PRO and a red AM on various locations on the car. All window banner backgrounds are BLACK, however the top 3 drivers in both classes will have a WHITE background to hep show the audience who the top 3 drivers are in their respectable classes. 1.5.d. TradingPaints.com Trading Paints is a free service and the way to insure your custom paint scheme will show up on the Global Sim Racing Channel broadcast. 1.5.e. Copyright Infringement The Quality Racing Sim-dicate and its sponsors take no responsibility for any copyright infringement by any Sim-dicate member. 2. Race Details 2.1. Set-Up Open Set-ups will be used for the Season. 2.1.a. Shared Open Set-ups In the spirit of sportsmanship drivers with experience with set-ups are encourage to share their set-ups with less experienced drivers. A special forum section will be set aside for posting set-ups. 2.1.b. Light Fuel Load Regular Season To make pit-stops necessary, the "MAX FUEL" will be set to 30%. The changes to the starting fuel load and refill option will remain the same for all regular season races. 2.1.c. Light Fuel Load Grand Finale Because of the extra distance of the Grand Finale, to avoid a fuel mileage race, the Grand Finale "MAX FUEL" will be set to 34% Starts 2.2.a. Standing for All Races Since there are no ovals for the Season schedule there will be no rolling starts Pits Stops 2.3.a. Fuel Only / Tires Optional Because of the fuel restrictions implemented in 2.1.b, drivers will be forced to make pits stops to refuel. Drivers may choose to change tires if they desire Fast Repairs 2.4.a. Disabled In an attempt to add to the realism of the series, Fast Repairs will be disabled. Drivers may choose to escape off the track and wait in the pits while iracing counts down before beginning repairs, or limp back to the pits. Cars limping back to the pits must stay well off the racing line. Failure to do so could result in a penalty Track Specific Rules (TSR) 2.5.a. Posted & Enforced Each week Track Specific Rules (TSR) will be announced when needed. Drivers can receive post-race penalties for excessive abuse of a TSR Max Incident Cap

2.6.a. Disabled Drivers do not need to worry about an in-race disqualification from iracing because of exceeding an incident cap. There are however bonus points based on a driver's standings on the Miles Per Incident Chart Weather 2.7.a. Practice, Qualifying and Race Sessions = Dynamic Weather iracing s Dynamic Weather setting will be used for each of the twelve scheduled events Track Condition 2.8.a. Practice, Qualifying and Race Sessions Open Practice Automatically clean marbles: Check Starting Track State: Moderately Low Usage (40%) Lone Qualifier Starting Track State: Carried over Race Starting Track State: Carried over 2.9. Post-Race Celebration: 2.9.a. Post-Race Celebrations Now Against the Rules Because there are bonus points awarded based on a driver s standing on the Miles Per Incident Chart, the much-enjoyed tradition of post-race celebrations is now against the rules Chat, Verbal and Text 2.10.a. Practice Chat Social chatting is allowed and encouraged during practice. The Quality Racing Sim-dicate is a community. The more familiar drivers become with one another, the more fun the racing can be. Drivers who find the chatting during practice distracting should consider muting chat during the practice session b. Qualifying and Race Chat During the Qualifying session chat is not allowed. Prior to the race, and the race itself, chatting should be limited to short, on track communications such as, Pass left, Pitting out, or Sorry about that. As specified in rule 2.10.d., arguing about race etiquette is forbidden c. Post-Race Chat Post-race verbal conversations SHOULD NOT BEGIN until all drivers have crossed the finish line. While not encouraged, a quick congratulation text is acceptable. Drivers down the finishing order can expect radio silence until everyone has crossed the finish line, but should also be prepared to ignore any late race congratulatory texts d. In-Race Debating Prohibited Discussions of driver etiquette should never take place during qualifying or race. Drivers are welcome to have at it in post-race iracing chat or in the appropriate forum thread. When a driver chooses to complain and start a discussion anyway, minor or standard penalties CAN be applied by the stewards Yellow Flags 3. Points System 3.1. PRO and AM Championships

3.1.a. PRO and AM class The Heusinkveld MX-5 World Tour features PRO and AM classes, which started in Season 14. If your average finishing record is above 33% of the field, you will be placed in the PRO class all others will be placed in AM class. Drivers with no finishing history will be placed into the AM class and can be promoted during the season when their average performance showed to be in that top 33% of the grid. The exception to this rule is if you have an irating greater than 3000, you will automatically be put into the PRO class. 3.1.b. Race Points Adjusted Based on Size of Field Because large fluctuations in field size can skew race points, the Heusinkveld MX-5 World Tour employs a unique race point system. The podium positions as well as last place remain constant at 100 pts, 90, pts, 83 pts, and 25 pts. The points awarded for positions between last and third (25 pts. to 83 pts.) are rationed out depending on field size.

3.1.c. PRO and AM Class Championship Points PRO and AM class drivers will be scored based on their overall finish each race. Having a single championship points table will allow drivers to know where they stand in the overall standings. 3.1.d. Promotion From AM to PRO Class / Movement from PRO to AM class A rookie can be promoted after five (5) races if they are in the top 33% of the championship standings. The top three (3) AM class drivers will be evaluated for promotion to the PRO class for the following season. The three (3) lowest finishers in PRO class will also be evaluated for movement to the AM class for next season. 3.1.e. No Show Compensation A detriment to Saturday racings is every sim-dicate member will fall victim to the demands of the week-end. To allow for week-end responsibilities the Heusinkveld MX-5 World Tour employs a unique championship point system. Drivers are afforded three (3) No Show Compensations for the season. The first missed race will be scored as 75% of that driver's average. The second missed race will be scored as 50% and the third race will be scored 25%. Missed races four and up will be scored as a zero. Drivers will only be eligible for the no show compensation when they have raced the same number of races. For example; Race 2 races in the season and you will only receive 2 no shows. 3.1.f. Dedicated Drivers Single Drop Race For dedicated drivers, we offer a single drop race worth 90% of your race average. If a driver has completed all races up to the Grand Finale the drivers lowest race score will be dropped and replaced with 90% of the average of the other races. If the dropped race score is higher than the 90% average the larger value will be used. This as a reward for racing all races and to make up for a bad result that could hurt your championship standings. 3.1.g. Miles Per Incident Bonus To discourage abusing track boundaries Miles Per Incident Bonus points are added to a driver s season Championship Point Total as one of the contributing factors in determining the Season Champion. Bonus points are awarded based on a driver s position on the Miles Per Incident Chart. MPI bonus points range between 100 and 25 points, rationed out in the same fashion as described in rule 3.1.a Grand Finale: 3.2.a. Grand Finale The Grand Finale is the twelfth and final race of Season 14 and is intentionally positioned and weighted to play a large role in determining the Grand Champion. 3.2.b. Double Distance Double Points To help create an element of drama, the Grand Finale race will award Grand Champion points at a two times the value of a typical race as described in section 3.1.a. To justify the double points, the Grand Finale is extended to twice a normal race distance. 3.2.c. Start & Park Points Replaces No Show Compensation To encourage all drivers to race in the Grand Finale, No Show Compensation will NOT be offered. In line of No Show Compensation any driver who entered at least one race during Season 14 will be guaranteed a last place finished and 50 Start & Park points Grand Championship 3.3.a. Grand Championship Points The Grand Champion and final points standings will be comprised of 4 parts 1. Season 14 PRO Grand Championship Points 2. Season 14 AM Grand Championship Points 3. Miles Per Incident Bonus Points 4. Grand Finale Points

3.3.b. 50% Participation Required Drivers competing in less than half the races are scored below drivers who have competed in at least half the races. 3.3.c. Every Mistake Counts Because every race counts, every mistake counts. Because of the unique points system, drivers no longer have the safety net of knowing they can simply drop a bad race result. (except for rule 3.1.f) 4. Incident Review Team (IRT) 4.1. The Incident Review Team For Season 14 the Chief Steward is the sole member of the Incident Review Team. 4.1.a. Chief Steward The Chief Steward is responsible for identifying incidents to be reviewed, reviewing said incidents, assigning penalties when merited, posting all verdict and incident replays, reviewing any appeals and posting appeal verdicts. 5. Penalty System 5.1. Reviewable Incidents After each race the Chief Steward will decide what incidents warrant review, will assign fault when fault is present and assess penalties in compliance with section 6; Rules of the Road. The Chief Steward can rule reviewable incidents to be one of the following. 5.1.a. Incidental Contact Contact resulting in no damage or no significant loss of time. No Assessed Penalty 5.1.b. Racing Incident Contact resulting in damage and or significant loss of time but no driver to be deemed at fault, or the party at fault is the only driver to be damaged or suffer significant loss of time. No Assessed Penalty 5.1.c. Avoidable Contact Contact resulting in damage and or significant loss of time where one driver can be deemed to be at fault. Avoidable Contact will warrant either a 3 Point Major Assessed Penalty, 2 Point Standard Assessed Penalty or 1 Point Minor Assessed Penalty. 5.1.d. Ghost Contact Contact that occurs due to iracing lag time. No Assessed Penalty is often the outcome for ghost contacts; however Chief Steward has the latitude to assess penalties for ghost contacts when he/she finds it appropriate. 5.1.e. Other The Chief Steward may use his/her best judgments to rule on any unusual event that falls outside those listed above Reporting Non Car-2-Car Incidents Only incidents that involve Car-2 Car contact are automatically reviewed by the IRT. Unsporting behaviors that does not involve Car-2-Car contact can and should be reported to the Chief Steward either by or forum posting. Such incidents would include Unsafe Re-Entering (6.1.h.); Black Flag Serving (6.1.i.); Limping (6.1.j), Blocking (6.3.a.), and Blue Flag (6.3.b.) Postings & s: 5.3.a. Posted Verdicts For all reviewed incidents, the Chief Steward will post in the forum the his/her initial verdicts, assessed penalties if warranted and opinions.

5.3.b. Posted Replays For all reviewed incidents, the Chief Steward will post a link for any and all replay clips. 5.3.c. Posted Appeal Deadlines The Chief Steward will specify in a forum post the deadline for driver appeals to be submitted. 5.3.d. Posted Driver Appeals The Chief Steward will post in the forum all driver appeal arguments. 5.3.e. Appeal Verdicts The Chief Steward will review all appeal arguments before making his/her ruling and posting his/her verdicts. The Chief Steward can keep penalties the same, lessened or remove them completely. 5.3.f. Courtesy Notification notifications of posted initial verdicts, replay clips and appeal verdicts will be sent as a courtesy only when time permits. Drivers are responsible for checking the forum for all verdicts and replay clips that concern them Appeals Process 5.4.a. Who Can Make an Appeal Only drivers who are assessed a penalty by the Chief Steward may ask to have that initial verdicts appealed. Drivers may not appeal rulings in hopes of having a fellow competitor assessed a penalty or in hopes of having a fellow competitor's assessed penalty increased. 5.4.b. How & When to Make an Appeal Request for appeals can be made publicly in the forum or privately by to the Chief Steward before the deadline indicated in the initial posted verdict. Appeals made by private will still be posted in the forum. Appeals and accompanying arguments and evidence posted or ed after the indicated deadline are not guaranteed a review. If the Chief Steward determines the appeal meets all standards for review he/she If the Steward determines the appeal does not meet all standards for review he/she will post why the appeal was not submitted for review. 5.4.c. Who Will Rule on the Appeal The Appellate Steward will review the Race Steward s initial ruling and the arguments from the appealing driver. 5.4.d. Possible Outcomes of an Appeal The Appellate Steward, using as a guide the section 6; Rules of the Road may uphold, reduce or remove the Chief Steward's initial penalty. The Chief Steward cannot increase the his/her initial penalty. 5.4.e. How Often Can a Driver Appeal A driver is allowed one denied appeals per five races. A driver must wait for a denied appeal to clear off his/her record before he/she is allowed to appeal again. Drivers can chart their appeal status on the Penalty Chart. The Chief Steward also has the right to remove the appeal from the drivers record due to the fact that alternate replays may be submitted during the appeal process which due to iracing s lag compensation system may show different sequence of events than the original replay used in making a decision. 5.4.f. Request for Second Opinion is Sufficient for Appeal A driver does not need to submit and appeal argument. A driver may quickly and simply request to have the Appellate Judge give a second opinion. Such a request will still constitute a filed appeal. 5.4.g. The Chief Steward's Appeal Ruling is Final There is no process afforded a driver to appeal the Chief Steward's appeal ruling Assessed Penalty Points & Degree Penalty points are independent of race points and have no effect on season standings. The degree of an assessed penalty will be one of the following

5.5.a. 3 Point Major Penalty An incident that should have been easily avoided but was not as a result of aggressive or careless behavior by the driver found to be at fault. Incidents that occur during the first lap are susceptible to major penalties. 5.5.b. 2 Points Standard Penalty An incident that could have been avoided but was a result of poor judgment, a miscalculation or too close racing by the driver found to be at fault. 5.5.c. 1 Point Minor Penalty An incident where an assessed 2 point standard penalty is to severe. It should be noted that while there is no direct rule on redressing incidents drivers that have made a mistake and gained a positional advantage may redress the position(s). The IRT looks favorably toward this show of sportsmanship and generally results in a reduction of the penalty points that would be assessed from a reviewable incident Penalty Rating The Driver penalty rating is based on penalty points acquired during a driver's five most recent races. A penalty rating of 4 or 5 will force that driver to serve a Mandatory Stop & Go (MSG) penalty. A penalty rating of 6 or more will force that driver to serve a one race suspension before returning to the series. Drivers who receive an assessed penalty of any degree while owning a penalty rating of six or more will earn a suspension of indefinite length. 0 Penalty Points: CLEAN DRIVING RECORD, Race as normal 1 Penalty Point: LEVEL 1 WARNING, Race with caution. 2 Penalty Points: LEVEL 2 WARNING, Race with greater caution. 3 Penalty Points: LEVEL 3 WARNING, Race with extreme caution 4 Penalty Points: LEVEL 1 PROBATION, Driver must serve a Mandatory Drive Thru. Being only 2 penalty points away from suspension the driver should race with extreme caution. 5 Penalty Points: LEVEL 2 PROBATION, Driver must serve a Mandatory Stop & Go Penalty. Being only a single penalty point away from suspension the driver should race with the ultimate amount of caution. > 6 Penalty Points: LEVEL 1 SUSPENSION, Must serve 1 race suspension & then serve a Mandatory Stop & Go Penalty. Any assessed penalty received while on level 1 suspension will result in a "Level 2" suspension of indefinite length Clean Driver Mulligan Drivers who have a clean record in their last 8 races will be considered to have a reputation as a clean driver. Such drivers will have an advantage of having 2 points deducted from their first assessed penalty Serving Penalties There are three types of penalties a driver may/must serve. 5.8.a. Voluntary Pass Thru (VPT) Penalty If a driver starts a race with a penalty rating of 1, 2 or 3 (any of the three levels of warning) he/she may opt to serve VPT penalty. Serving a VPT will lower that driver s penalty rating by 1 penalty point. There are 5 stipulations for serving a VPT 1. Warned Status Only: A driver must start the race with a penalty rating of 1, 2, or 3 (any of the three levels of warning). 2. Serve in First 10 Laps: A driver must pass thru the pits on or before the end of lap Free of Previous Contact: From the starting grid to the time the VPT penalty is served a driver must be free of contact, be it car-2-car or with the wall. A driver being the culprit or victim of the contact is of no consequence. 4. Pass Thru Only, May Not Stop: A driver may not stop in his/her pit stall for any reason while serving a VPT.

5. Notify the Chief Steward: After the race a driver must notify the Lead Judge (either by or in the forum) that he/she served a VPT and the approximate lap it was served. 5.8.b. Mandatory Pass Thru (MPT) Penalty If a driver starts a race with a penalty rating 4 he/she must serve MPT penalty. While on the starting grid the driver may be shown the black flag. Regardless if the driver is shown the black flag they are required pass through the pits at the end of lap 1. Serving a Mandatory Pass Thru Penalty will reduce a driver s penalty rating by 1 penalty point. 5.8.c. Mandatory Stop & Go (MSG) Penalty If a driver starts a race with a penalty rating 5 he/she must serve MSG penalty. While on the starting grid the driver may be shown the black flag. Regardless if the driver is shown the black flag they are required to momentarily stop in his/her pit stall at the end of lap 1. Serving a Mandatory Stop & Go Penalty will reduce a driver s penalty rating by 1 penalty point. 5.8.d. Serving a Suspension If a driver reaches a penalty rating of 6 or more, he/she must serve a one (or more) race suspension. To serve a suspension a driver must run at least one lap during the practice session of a schedule race but must not qualify or grid for the race. Simply, not showing up for an event does not constitute serving a suspension. A driver who serves a suspension will be given credit for last place points (25) and also credit for a race entered on the career stats. 6. Rules of the Road 6.1. Explanations of Offenses that Merit Being Assessed a Penalty 6.1.a. Punting On corner entry a trailing car breaks late and makes contact with the rear bumper of a leading car, or -- On corner exit a trailing car accelerates earlier than the leading car and makes contact with the rear bumper of the leading car. In both cases fault lies with the trailing car. 6.1.b. Dive-bombing On corner entry a trailing car breaks late and makes contact anywhere in the side or rear of a leading car as that leading car turns into the corner. Fault to trailing car. 6.1.c. Drifting A car does not hold an expected racing line and drifts into a second car that was holding an expected racing line. Leading or trailing plays no part in a drifting verdict. Fault to drifting car. Because drivers are well aware of the existence and perils of Ghost Contact drivers should leave a safe cushion between cars when close racing is not necessary. Drivers should not expect a ruling of Ghost Contact when drifting close to another car when close racing is not necessary. Ghost Contact will rarely be the ruling when contact occurs on the straight. 6.1.d. Pushing Out A car attempting to pass on the inside that has established good presentation, cannot hold the inside line and makes contact with an outside car that has left sufficient room for a safe pass. Fault to inside car. (see 6.4. Presentation) 6.1.e. Squeezing A car on the outside does not leave enough room to prevent contact with a passing inside car that had established good presentation. Fault to outside car. (see 6.4. Presentation) 6.1.f. Proper Track Out A car does not take an expected racing line on corner exit. 1) Outside Car: When being passed or passing, the outside car must track out fully on corner exit. Failure to do so will result in a penalty to the outside car.

2) Inside Car: When being passed or passing, the inside car must not track out fully on corner exit until clearing the outside car. Failure to do so will result in a penalty to the inside car. 6.1.g. Not Meeting Higher First Lap Standards During the first lap a higher degree of car control and track awareness is required. Penalties are often more severe for first lap infractions. 1) Poor Car Control: During the first lap a driver causes contact by not taking the extra care needed to meet the higher opening lap car control standards, such as holding inside, outside, and perhaps middle racing lines. A penalty will almost certainly be assessed to a driver aggressively or inadvertently causing contact during the opening lap of the race. Accidental loss is of control is not a defense for causing an incident during the first lap unless it can be linked to a sudden or unexpected situation. 2) Poor Track Awareness: A driver aggressively or inadvertently creates or contributes to a dangerous situation. If a competitor s inability to manage a dangerous situation results in that competitor suffering significant damage or significant loss of time, or causing significant damage or significant loss of time, a penalty will almost certainly be assessed to the driver responsible for creating the dangerous situation, even if the driver responsible for creating the dangerous situation did not have car to car contact. 6.1.h. Moving Target After losing control a car comes to rest or nearly to rest in front of on-coming traffic but neglects to stay on the brakes which changes the car from a stationary or near-stationary target to a moving target that impedes the progress of the on-coming traffic, either by contact or loss of control by the on-coming traffic in an attempt to avoid contact. Fault to the moving target car and susceptible to a 3 points major penalty. 6.1.i. Unsafe Re-Entering After going off track, a car regains control then re-enters the racing surface that impedes the progress of the on-coming traffic, either by contact or loss of control by the on-coming traffic in an attempt to avoid contact. Fault to the re-entering car and susceptible to a 3 points major penalty. 6.1.j. Black Flag Serving A leading car attempting to serve a black flag slows in a dangerous manner that impedes the progress of a trailing car, either by contact or loss of control by the trailing car in an attempt to avoid contact. Fault to the car serving the black flag. 6.1.k. Limping A damaged car limping back to the pit lane impedes the progress of an oncoming traffic, either by contact or loss of control by the oncoming traffic in an attempt to avoid contact with the limping car. A limping car is required to remain far off the racing line. Fault to the limping car. Accidental loss of control as a result of underestimating the severity of the car damage is not a defense for causing an incident. A car must also not be driven in the wrong direction or use cut throughs to gain an advantage while limping back to pit lane. 6.1.l. Poor Judgment or Recklessness The IRT is allowed to use its discretion to determine if a driver s poor judgment or recklessness caused an incident. A penalty does not need to be specifically listed in section 6.1. Explanations of Offenses that Merit Being Assessed a Penalty to warrant a penalty Racing Incidents Not Subject to Assessed Penalties 6.2.a. Accidental Loss of Control Accidental loss of control that results in car to car contact will not merit a penalty and will be ruled a racing incident. Exceptions to rule 6.2.a. Accidental Loss of Control:

1) Attempting an Aggressive Passing or Defending Maneuver: If a driver attempting an aggressive passing or defensive maneuver loses control, that driver will be subject to receiving an assessed penalty. 2) During the First Lap: When the field is bunched during the first lap drivers are expected to maintain car control. Accidental loss of control is not a defense for causing an incident during the first lap. 3) Limping a Damaged Car: If a driver intentionally brings a damaged car back onto the track for any reason, that driver is responsible for maintaining car control. Accidental loss of control as a result of underestimating the severity of the car damage is not a defense for causing an incident. 6.2.b. Questionable Inside Pass A car on the outside does not leave enough room to prevent contact with a passing inside car that has established only questionable presentation (see 6.4. Presentation). These instances will be ruled as a Racing Incident 6.2.c. Victimless Incidents Only when contact creates a victim will assessing a penalty be considered. A victim is defined as an innocent driver who loses significant time, or suffers significant car damage. A simple loss of position or positions by a leading car as a result of being moved out of the way by a trailing car will not warrant a penalty to the trailing car so long as the leading car did not suffer significant loss of time or significant damage Racing Behavior Subject to a Counseled Warning Followed by Assessed Penalties Because some unsporting behaviors are not flagged in any iracing result they are often overlooked and therefore not subject to penalization. Questionable or unsporting racing behavior brought to the attention of the IRT will be handled on a case by case basis and outside of the usual penalty system process. The IRT s preferred method is counseling first, penalty second, and suspension as a last resort. 6.3.a. Blocking In any single passing opportunity, the leading car defends his/her position more than once; weaving in a manner that is clearly intended to stop or block a passing maneuver of the trailing car. 6.3.b. Blue Flag Lapped traffic has been a frustrating part of auto racing ever since Henry Ford beat Alexander Winton. Different interpretations of the Blue Flag rule have been the cause of many heated post-race discussions between and amongst QRS members and IRT judges. The following definition and guidelines should allow all QRS members to have a common understanding of what is expected from both lead and non-lead lap cars when the Blue Flag is displayed. 1) Blue Flag During Technical Section; Lapping Car Must Wait: A driver shown the Blue Flag during a technical section of the track should be aware that a faster car is close behind but the slower car IS NOT REQUIERED to assist the lapping car in making the pass. The lapping car must remain patient until the leading car finds a safe place on the track to assist the lapping car in making the pass. The slower car is responsible for determining if a track section is technical. The manner in which the slower car is racing should communicate to the lapping car if and when it is safe to pass. 2) Blue Flag Non-Technical Section; Car Being Lapped Must Yield: A driver shown the Blue Flag during a non-technical section of the track should be aware that a faster car is close behind and the slower car IS REQUIERED to assist the lapping car in making the pass by using the techniques outlined in section 6.3.b. (3): Blue Flag Guidelines for a Car Being Lapped 3) Blue Flag Guidelines for a Car Being Lapped: I. Stay on the Preferred Racing Line: The car being lapped should stay on the preferred racing line and force the lapping car go to around. If the car being lapped pulls off the preferred racing line it becomes an unpredictable obstacle. II. Lift on the Straight: The car being lapped should assist the lapping car to pass safely by lifting on the straight, allowing the lapping car to go around.

III. IV. Yield the Apex: If the corner allows two wide racing, the car being lapped should assist the lapping car to make pass safely by yielding the inside line allowing the lapping car to make an inside pass. Avoid Forcing the Lapping Car to Pass on the Outside: The inside line is considered a defensive line. Forcing the lapping car to make an outside pass is dangerous, and slows both the lapping and lapped car. V. Cars Battling for Position Must Yield to Lapping Cars: Battling for position is not an excuse for not assisting a lapping car to make a pass when safe. Proper etiquette between slower cars would be for there to be a short truce between the battling slower cars to allow the lapping car or cars to pass. Good sportsmanship would be that once the faster cars have passed the battle would resume with the slower lapped cars in the same running order as before the truce. 4) Blue Flag Guidelines for a Lapping Car: I. Be Patient: When catching traffic at a technical section of the track, lapping cars should remain patient and trust that the slower traffic will allow them to pass at the first safe opportunity. Forcing a pass is courting a penalty or worse, disaster. II. Avoid Following Traffic Too Closely Through the Corners: Going nose to tail behind slow traffic through the corner ruins the exit speed of the passing car and making it more difficult for slower traffic to allow for an easy pass. 6.3.c. Unsporting Conduct Other unsporting behavior such as Private Messages, Forum Posts, Intentional Wrecking or otherwise creating a negative environment between drivers. On track actions are not limited to race sessions and includes hosted practice sessions. Pertinent information should be submitted for review Presentation At corner turn-in, a car passing on the inside that advances its nose into an area alongside and parallel to the green, yellow or red area of the pictured car below will be consider to have Good, Questionable or Poor Presentation. 6.4.a. Good Presentation The ownership of the apex belongs to the inside car when the inside car has good presentation. The outside car must yield or risk of penalty. 6.4.b. Questionable Presentation The ownership of the apex undetermined when the inside car has questionable presentation. Any contact that occurs while passing with questionable presentation will be ruled as a racing incident. 6.4.c. Poor Presentation The ownership of the apex belongs to the outside car when the inside car has poor presentation. The inside car must yield or risk of penalty.

7. Driver Guidelines 7.1. Objectives of the Penalty System It is the hope of the race administrators that the Penalty System creates a racing environment that is both fair and fun for Heusinkveld MX-5 World Tour members. The Rules of the Road specifically legislates against aggressive and careless driving, while intentionally leaving certain elements un-punished. It is believed that this intentional ambiguity creates wiggle room that will lend itself to better racing. It should allow each driver to race in his or her own style while remaining within the confines of the rules. 7.1.a. Adjusting Driving Style to Match Penalty Rating The penalty system is devised to allow drivers to make mistakes without being crushed by severe penalties. Under normal circumstances, a driver will need to be found at fault twice within a five race period to be put on probation and required to serve a mandatory stop and go penalty. Drivers with penalty ratings of 2 or 3 should seriously consider adjusting their racing style to avoid being placed on probation Good Driver Etiquette 7.2.a. Be Patient The longer race lengths afford drivers time to wait for good passing opportunities. Take it very easy on the first lap and be aware that other cars are very close. If you are fast, you ll have plenty of time to catch any slower cars ahead. 7.2.b. Know Your Competitors. Study the Charts Penalty ratings are made public for a reason. The charts are there to help a driver understand who he/she is racing against. Make a mental note of those drivers with dangerous reputations. That way you can decide if you want to be In the right and in the trees or suffer a loss of time to finish the race. 7.2.c. Don t Compound Your Mistake If you ve had an off, insure there is enough time to re-enter safely. Don t underestimate how quickly cars at racing speed will be at your location. If you ve spun and are stopped on the track in front of on-coming cars, stay on the brake. It is much easier for on-coming traffic to avoid a stationary target in the racing line than a moving one off of it. (See 6.1.h & 6.1.i) 7.2.d. At Your Own Risk Some things are risky by nature. Try to pass a less experience driver on the outside, don t be surprised when he/she panics and slides up into you. Try to out-break a fast driver who is committed to the apex, once again you should not be surprised by the outcome. 7.2.e. Serving a Cutting the Course Black Flag iracing gives drivers plenty of time to give back the time. It can be done quickly over a short period, or slowly over a longer period. Wait and choose a track location that is safe for you and drivers behind you. 7.2.f. Everyone Make Mistakes Watch any real world race and even at the highest level you will be almost guaranteed to see driver blunders that would easily earn a penalty in the Heusinkveld MX-5 World Tour. It is unrealistic to expect MWT racers to be any less stupid. So try to cut yourself and your competitor some slack.
