Many thanks to all involved with the successful running of this event. We would like to remind all members that you are to obey track rules: only seniors are to practice together, all Juniors go together and midgets and rookies are together. Covered shoes are to be worn at all times, there is no smoking in the pits, only in the allocated smoking area. Now down to racing. And what a great weekend of racing it was, with 301 entries there was some awesome racing done over the 3 days. It was good to see some clear sky s and fast times all weekend. It was also great to see a good crowd watching the action over the weekend. Midgets With a field of 23 starters, it was the out of towners who took out the top positions and showed their class. It was won by Reece Sidebottom (Rochester) 2nd was Zane Morse (Camberra) and 3rd went to Quintin Slabbert (Warwick). Rookies A field of 16 karters, it was a good battle across the top 5 over the 3 days. Come the final it was a win to Liam McLellan (Oakleigh), 2nd was Brock Boley (Bunburry) and 3rd went to local driver Jake Downs (Mackay). Junior National Light With a great field of 30 starters, there was a good battle across the top 4. It was a win to Lachlan McHugh (Ipswich), 2nd was James Foster (Ipswich) and 3rd was Trent Grubel (NSKC). Junior National Heavy With a good field of 24 karters, it was a great battle between the top 3 with only 1.3 sec between them. The win went to Jeremy Landt (Bundaberg), 2nd was Matthew McLellan (Oakleigh), 3rd was Macauley Jones (Albury). Visit the Club's website at

2 Junior Clubman With a field of 14, it was a win to Aussie champ Joseph Mawson (CDKC), 2nd was Todd Hazelwood (Southern) and 3rd was Jarred Lane (Toowoomba). J Max With a good field of 18 karters. This class was new to our track and showed some great racing across the weekend. It was a win to Jonathan Venter (NSKC), 2nd was Hayden Cooper (GCKC) and 3rd was Pierce Lehane (NSKC). Senior National Light With a field of 14 karts and some great racing, it was 1,2,3,4 & 5 finish for Mackay drivers and showed how strong we are in this and the J heavy class. It was a clear win to Shannon Price. Behind him there were some good battles between Jarryd Ebzery who came home with 2nd, 3rd went to Todd Stevens, 4th was Luke Caputo and 5th was Mitchell Fry. All were separated by just.600 of a sec, great racing guys and well done. Senior National Heavy With a great field of 20 karters. I have been told that this race was the best of the day, with the lead changing nearly every lap. But once again Mackay showed its class in this event and came away with the first 3 places. The win went to Justin Garioch over good mate Marshall Watson 2nd and the 3rd place king Todd Stevens, great racing guys and well done. But it must be said that 4th and 5th place getters Norm Trost and Nicholas Ellen were right in there with the top 5 separated by.852 sec. Clubman Light With another great field of 27 starters, it was a good battle up the front of the field. With not just battles up front but also good battles across the whole field. Up the front the battle was between Tyler Greenbury (Toowoomba) who claimed 1st from Lydon Dodge (Cairns) and 3rd was Jason Burns (GCKC). Sportsman Heavy Another big field of 24 starters and with some great racing across the field. Come the final, 4 of the best karters in aussie land were fighting it out over the 21 laps, changing positions and fighting to the end. It came to the last lap and 4 corners to go Shay Mayes (CCKC), Jason Hryniuk (CDKC), Brendan Nelsen (Toowoomba) and Justin Garioch going hard at each other, with Justin going for a move from 3rd to first in the switch back, he was spun around and didn t finish and it was a win to Shay Mayes, 2nd was Jason Hryniuk and 3rd was Brendan Nelsen. Best Race for the weekend. Sportsman Super Heavy With a good field of 16 starter, it was a great race to watch. There were battles across the whole field, but it was Mark Muscat and Scott Simpson (Gold Coast) battling it out up the front. Scott showed his intentions early by feeding Mark a tyre at the end of the straight, so Mark waited and waited and took the lead with 2 to go, but it was not over, come the last corner on the last lap Scott poked his nose down the inside of Mark and pushed him in to the dirt and took the win, with Mark (left the door open) Muscat, 3rd was Ryan Fulcher (Bundaberg) from a very close John Rowley 4th. It must be said that driver of the meet goes to John Rowley for the great sportsmanship he showed by pushing a fellow competitor in the 1st round, well done John and great drive.

Sportsman Over 40 s A field of 14 starters, Mackay karters showed their class with some great racing, with Bevan Garioch showing a clean set of heals in the final to take the win from his old rival Remo Luciani (Wimmera)in 2nd and Steve Muscat in 3rd. It was great racing from the old fell's. Leopard Light With a field of 10 karters, it was a close finish but a win to Luke Lane(Toowoomba), 2nd was Cian Fothergill (Gladstone) and 3rd was Rhett Noonan (Tiger). Leopard Heavy With a field of 14 starters, it was a clear win to Daniel Stein (CDKC), Matthew Dicinoski (Rockhampton) and Elle Brydon (Rockhampton) was 3rd. Rotax Light A field of 11 starters and it was a win to Joshua De Maio (GKCV), 2nd was Troy Bretherton (GCKV) and 3rd was Damian Ward (Gold Coast). Rotax Heavy With just 8 starters, it was a win to Ben McKinlay (Toowoomba), 2nd was Kel Treseder (Bundaberg) and 3rd was Lane Moore (Gold Coast). 4 Practice Fees The Friday night before every club race meet, there will be a cost of $10 for practice. The cost takes effective from 4pm on the Friday afternoon. For title meets there will be a charge of $10 dollars for all day on the Friday. Next Club Meeting All club meetings will now be held the Tuesday after the race meet. So the next one will be on the 3rd of August, starting at 7.00pm. It will be at Harrup Park in the Sportsman Room. All are Welcome. Transponders Just a reminder that Transponders will be effective from 1st July All members will need a transponder to race from this date. Order sheets are available on the web site and they are to be handed to Sandra at the kart shop with the money or the transponder will not be ordered. The price of a transponder is $280 and if you race Tag they will be $250. Alfano/Micron Strips Just informing all members that the 3rd strip has been added to the track, so please remember to change your data loggers to 3 strips. The J 1000 Enduro This year the J Enduro will be held for Seniors and Juniors on the 31st of July. The Junior Enduro will be run for 1 and half hours and will start at 9am. The Senior will be run for 3 hours and will start at 11am. Please see web site for details and rules. Also, there are minimum numbers required before each class can start, 10 for juniors and 16 for seniors. So get your entry s in early. Entry s can be put in to Sandra at the kart shop, entry s close on the 28th of July. Race Format From now on all club meets will go back to the following format and prices. $40.00 nominations for Midgets/Rookies. Laps will be 3 by 6 laps, 8 lap pre final & 10 lap final. $50.00 nominations for Juniors & Seniors. Laps will be 3 by 8 laps, 10 lap pre final & 12 lap final. 2nd Nominations fee will be $30.00 Whitsunday Titles fee $60.00 nominations for Midgets/Rookies. Laps will be 2 by 8 laps, 12 lap pre final & 15 lap final. $80.00 nominations for Juniors & Seniors. Laps will be 3 by 10 laps, 15 lap pre final & 18 lap final. 2nd Nominations fee will be $60.00
