We have enjoyed being your PTC Presidents and have greatly appreciated your support this year. We would like for you to enjoy summer, come back refreshed and ready to begin another year at Hiteon. As much as it feels the school year is over, please know there are some very fun activities ahead, such as Field Day and Class Parties. These events are an exciting way to end the year. We can t wait to see everyone in the Hiteon halls one last time before summer break. The PTC Board voted in a new board on Wednesday, June 7 th at our meeting and we are trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. Please welcome them with a smile, and a thank you for taking on this role for our community and our kids. 2 Art Night Family art night was a great success. Everyone who participated seemed to really enjoy themselves. We want to extend a BIG thank-you to all the volunteers who helped make the night run smoothly and stayed to help clean up. We truly could not have done it with out you. Also a special shout-out to to Safeway on tealmurray blvd for their donation of paper bags giving participants a means to carry their artwork. We appreciated their community partnership. Congratulations to the two winners of our prize drawing: Braden Klein from Schmidt/Wong s class who won the watercolor set and to Keegan Smit from Maddux's class who won the drawing set. Finally, Remember, there is no time to be bored when you have art!! Box Tops 4 Education We had an amazing year for box tops! For the second collection period running from January thru May we brought in over 6,000 box tops as a school! The top 3 classes for this collection period were: *Hanson 1st grade with 573 *Castor 3rd grade with 616 *Steiwer 5th grade with 530 Those 3 classes have earned popsicles, congratulations! Continue to collect over summer break and return to your class in the fall. Thank you for your continued support. LOST and FOUND The end of the school year is already here! This is your last opportunity to claim any missing items that belong to your student(s). Please take a moment to look through the Lost and Found one last time before it is cleaned out immediately after school on Thursday, June 22 nd. All unclaimed items will be donated to the Beaverton School District Clothes Closet. Passport Club Another year is over and the kids did amazingly. We had over 100 students stay at (or above) grade level all year long! We will be working on organizing the Passports, awarding prizes, and returning the passports to students in the next week or so. If you would like to help with or chair Passport Club next year, feel free to sign up on the board outside the PTC room! Thanks for making this one of the best Passport years in recent memory! SchoolKidz School Supply Sale This year the PTC has arranged for pre-packaged school supply kits customized for our school to be made available for sale online at (Account 48668) These kits are offered for the convenience of our families, and are not required. They contain all the items and brands our teachers have requested at a reasonable price, to be delivered to the school by the first day of school. Enjoy your summer! Shop for your school supplies! 3 Volunteer Corner Thank you to all volunteers this year. You have truly made Hiteon a better place with the generosity of your time and effort. Currently we have 718 Volunteers in the system and 10,225 hours have been recorded this year school year. So thank you again! So with the end of one year we must think toward the next there are still opportunities to volunteer. You can become a board member, chair an activity, volunteer in the classroom or at an event.
