AMERICA S GAME OF THE WEEK, FOX s national window which averaged 27.2 million viewers in 2013, returns Week 1 as the Dallas Cowboys play host to the San Francisco 49ers (4:25 PM ET) with seven-time Emmy awardwinner Joe Buck, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman and NFL on FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews. FOX Sports NFL studio coverage begins each Sunday on FOX Sports 1 with FOX NFL KICKOFF at 11:00 AM ET with host Joel Klatt and analysts Donovan McNabb, Brian Urlacher and Randy Moss. On the FOX broadcast network, FOX NFL SUNDAY immediately follows FOX NFL KICKOFF at 12:00 PM ET with co-hosts Terry Bradshaw and Curt Menefee alongside analysts Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, insider Jay Glazer and rules analyst Mike Pereira. The pregame show comes off an impressive 2013 campaign with an average of 4.8 million viewers tuning in each week. In this week s edition of FOX NFL SUNDAY, Long sits down with Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt days after Watt signed the biggest contract for a

2 defensive player in the NFL. Additionally, reporter Colleen Dominguez interviews Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant about his future in the league. NFL ON FOX PRESS CALL HIGHLIGHTS On Wednesday, FOX Sports conducted a press call to preview the 2014 season and took a look at the network s 20 th anniversary of broadcasting NFL games. NFL on FOX analysts Troy Aikman, Jimmy Johnson and Randy Moss were joined by FOX Sports President Eric Shanks and FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Production John Entz. Transcribed below are highlights from today s press call. For a full replay, please dial and enter passcode Aikman shares the concern that many have for New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning playing in a new offense: I share that concern from what I ve seen. I saw a quarterback that really struggled in this offense. I understand what the messaging has been out of New York as far as the Giants new offense, and this is the first time Eli has had to learn a new offense. If you look around the league at some of these other teams, even Minnesota for instance, where you have a new offense and a rookie quarterback that s played really well in the preseason, I don t think a new offense is the entire reason as to why that group [the Giants] has struggled. I would be concerned. Shanks on what defines FOX Sports over the years: Going back to how David [Hill] and Ed [Goren] set this place up, audio is what brings a broadcast to life. We pride ourselves on a number of patents in the audio area where we ve come up with our own innovations in audio, whether it be placing a microphone in a base in baseball, adding more parabolic microphones to the sideline, adding more microphones to the goalpost so that you hear the clunk. And being a part of the group, John Madden was a big part of this, pushing hard to get microphones on the centers and guards once the umpire moved his position a couple years ago. For us, audio is one of the signature elements of FOX Sports no matter what the broadcast is, from motor sports to the NFL. I think that as we plan our new productions going forward, with golf and the World Cup, audio is a top priority for those, and we re looking for new ways to innovate in that area for those sports. Aikman is familiar with the new personnel in Minnesota and likes what he sees: I m really excited about the NFC North. I see Chicago as the team that challenges the Packers but Minnesota is going to be better. (New defensive coordinator) Mike Zimmer was with me late in my career. That defense will play a different brand of football than they have been playing. Norv Turner is now their offensive coordinator, and they have played well in the preseason. Teddy Bridgewater looked good. Matt Cassel looked good. Unfortunately for them, they have an extremely difficult start to the season but it s going to be a great division to follow. Moss on what team he s watching in the NFC North: It s very possible two playoff teams come out of the NFC North. All four of those teams are on the rise. I m a big fan of what Minnesota is doing, but I m still on the Packers band wagon for the division lead. Johnson added: I see every team in that division getting better. Chicago a little, Detroit a lot and even the Packers with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, they ll be better. It s going to be a strong division.

LARRY MCREYNOLDS SAYS RYAN NEWMAN THE ONLY CHASE BUBBLE DRIVER WHO CAN REST EASY AT RICHMOND: Ryan Newman has a 42-point cushion on the Chase Grid at the moment, so I feel really good about him. I also think Greg Biffle, with a 23-point cushion, is in decent shape. But we re headed to a short track where it s so easy to get up against someone and cut a tire down under green-flag racing. We can create all these what-if scenarios, but Kyle Larson, Jamie McMurray or Clint Bowyer easily could win at Richmond, and then all of a sudden, Biffle s 23 points don t look all that good. MCREYNOLDS WILL BE WATCHING WHETHER KYLE BUSCH CAN BEGIN TO REBOUND THIS WEEKEND: While the Team Penske drivers ran so well at Richmond in the spring -- Joey Logano with the win and Brad Keselowski in fourth -- I m going to be watching Kyle Busch, who already is locked in the Chase with one win. Is Richmond where he can get the No. 18 headed in the right direction? He runs well there and finished third in the spring. Regardless of whether he wins, they need a solid run to get started in the Chase next week. MCREYNOLDS SAYS WINNING IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE FOR DIFFERENT REASONS AT RICHMOND: Forty-three drivers will take the green flag at Richmond, and for every single one of them, that race is all about winning. For those already locked into the Chase, they want another win so they can have those three extra bonus points.
