(see data below) Scott Westcott will become the oldest (40y 1days) Australian male to compete in the marathon at the Olympics, but the oldest ever competitor to compete is Canadian Percival Wyer who was aged 52 years and 199 days in Berlin in 196. AUSTRALIA AT THE OLYMPICS Australia have won 71 medals at the Olympics, comprising 21 gold (8 men, 1 women), 25 silver (1 men, 12 women), 25 bronze (12 men, 1 women) Australia is one of only four nations to have competed in every Athletics competition at all Olympic Games (27 occasions). The others are France, Great Britain & Greece. Athletics is the only Australian sport to have competed at every Olympics Games.
