1 P O Box 220, Booval Qld 4304 Ph: Website: Newsletter 25 th November 2016 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: The start of the season has many new faces joining our club and many thanks goes to Theresa (Marty) for encouraging young athletes (especially Ipswich Little A s) to become more skillful and adept in all events they compete in. Hope to see you all either at training or at the competitions. The Ipswich City Sports Awards were fantastic in that many categories were catered for and it was priceless to listen to Michael Slater sharing his experiences at top level in cricket and also as a commentator. Well done to all. Yes, we are on Face Book as a secret group called IDAC and it s for club members, parents and supporters of our club. This way local updated late news can be circulated. So look for us and ask to join so you can be added to the closed group. We also have a public FB page called Ipswich & District Athletic Club for general enquiries. Vic Parents Volunteering On training nights when our Committee are unable to man the clubhouse window to take training fees etc. it would be wonderful if some parents could help out on a roster system. It is not hard and is only for about 45 minutes at start of training. Please see Vic Pascoe so a list can be drawn up. With your help this action would make our club run a whole lot better. Queensland Relay Championships These Championships will be held on 10 th 11 th December 2016 at QSAC. Ted Ruben our Jumps Coach is the manager of these teams. Entry to these championships are free to the athlete, the Club pays these fees. The team lists will be available on Monday night at training. All names should have been in by the training night Monday 28/11/2015 so teams can be notified and entered by the official closing date of 8/12/2016.

A new question is as follows: I am a female that will not run, And in the dark I won't be fun, I cause a stir, perhaps a scream, To have me you will not be keen, You'd like to keep me on a tether, But you won t escape my appearance forever. What am I? Think carefully!!! Larissa Chambers off 15m made it through to the semifinals of Noosa 110m Gift and was a starter in the Ladies 110m invitational Gift as being one of the fastest 8 ladies.
