4 Ground entry costs There will be no gate entry fees for Tuesday 8th March. On each other day, if an athlete does not have an entry pass she/he will be required to pay the admission fee. Athletics Australia advises NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Adults - $12.20/day Concessions - $8.12/day Children under 12 - FREE Adults Multi Pass - $40.69 Concessions - $30.52 Tickets available from or at gate

5 TEAM UPDATES Communication will continue via and social media before the Championships. It is ESSENTIAL that you have supplied a contact number of the parent/guardian who will be in Perth. This would have been done when registering. Please do not contact the Team staff mobiles during the Championships for team updates. Check notices in team area or digital media. Matt Lynch will post regular updates regarding athletes via our website and social media, including photos.

6 Team Seating Arrangements Team Seating Allocation TBA by Athletics Australia at Managers Technical Meeting prior to Championships Each State Team is allocated an area around the track. The grandstand will be made available for spectators, but we are yet to advised which sections may/may not be restricted.

7 We must know when you arrive/leave please. When you arrive, please head straight to team area and sign in. A quick advice too when you leave please. There are so many circumstances that arise and we need to know your location.

9 Warm Up Areas o The warm up area is on the grass oval adjacent to the track - McGillivray Oval which is part of the UWA Sports Park o Huge arena, however some sections will more than likely be in use with other sports. o Hurdles were in limited supply last time, but available o Horizontal jumps area o HJ TBA o Throws cages / circles o As always consideration for para-athletes to access some parts of the track

13 Photography Athletics Australia have contracted Sports In Focus as official event photographers. Sports In Focus will have a booth at the Stadium throughout, as well as portal to view and purchase online afterwards

15 Call Room CLOSURE The closing call entry times at the Call Room are: Pole Vault 70 minutes High Jump, Discus, Hammer, Javelin 45 minutes Shot Put, Long & Triple Jump 35 minutes Hurdles & Relays 20 minutes Track Events 15 minutes If an athlete is entitled to and wishes to use a Guide, they must accompany the athlete to the Call Room and proceed with the athlete to the field of play. These are 5 mins different to All Schools 2015

16 TRACK PROGRESSIONS For events up to and including 800 metres: 6 heats: First 2 per heat plus next 4 fastest to semi finals 5 heats: First 2 per heat plus next 6 fastest to semi finals 4 heats: First 3 per heat plus next 4 fastest to semi finals 3 heats: First 2 per heat plus next 2 fastest to final 2 heats: First 3 per heat plus next 2 fastest to final For events of 1500 metres: 2 heats: First 4 per heat plus next 4 fastest to final ## In U14, U15, U metres seeded timed finals at Competition Director s discretion

17 Field Events: Throws & Horizontal Jumps In the U14, U15, U16 and U17 age groups, all athletes will have three (3) trials. At the conclusion of the 3 trials, the best 8 athletes will have one (1) further trial. The competition order will be changed after round 3. In the U18 and U20 age groups, all athletes will have three (3) trials and the best eight (8) thereafter, will have a further three (3) trials. The competition order will be changed after round 3. PRIVATE IMPLEMENTS 3 HRS PRIOR

18 Scratching/Protest/Clash Please see TESSA, BENITA or LEANNE ASAP & no later than 90 mins prior to the start of your event and 2 hours prior for pole vault if you need to scratch. There will be consequences for your remaining events if you do not withdraw according to the rules. Extremely important questions 1. What happens if my events clash? 2. What happens if I think someone did something wrong in my event that affected my performance/result?

19 PARA ATHLETES MULTI DISABILITY SCORING TABLES: Results will be determined using Athletics Australia s Multi-Disability Standards (MDS). Athletics Australia AWD Statistician, Neil Fuller, has developed the MDS in consultation with a variety of people closely involved in athletics for people with a disability. The MDS enables a mathematical comparison of results between the classes contesting the event. The system is a modification of the % of World Record system that is used by Athletics Australia to combine the Open Classes at the Australian Para-athlete Championships.

22 Team Meetings o No formal meetings will be convened. o Athletes are expected to continually check the QA website, social media pages and personal accounts for ongoing information.

23 Anti-Doping Control ASADA conducts all testing (Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority ) Your rights & obligations if selected TUE changes Don t jump first, then think later that it may not have been a good choice!

24 BECOME A STUDENT OF YOUR SPORT The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) updates the Prohibited List on 1 January every year. ASADA website - check medications/supplements Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Compulsory at next level. Know the rules of your event updated competition rules

26 IAAF WORLD U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS The 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships will be held from July 2016 in Poland Perth Nationals 2016 will also be the selection trials and uniform fitting for this international event.
