Issue 172 28th April 2017 Polesworth Matters Dear All Welcome back to our Summer Term. This is such a busy and high pressured term and we have started how we mean to go on.

On Wednesday we had a professional photographer with us for the day so that we are able to refresh our prospectus with up to date photos and information.

1 Issue th April 2017 Polesworth Matters Dear All Welcome back to our Summer Term. This is such a busy and high pressured term and we have started how we mean to go on. The GCSE Art Practical exam has taken place this week with Year 11 Artists spending two full days this week on their examination pieces. I have no doubt that they will have produced some amazing work. On Wednesday we had a professional photographer with us for the day so that we are able to refresh our prospectus with up to date photos and information. Furthermore, for the first time in many years we will be having full year group and full staff photos taken very soon. These will provide a fantastic overview of what makes Polesworth such a fabulous school. More to come on this in next week s Polesworth Matters. 3 Football Match Report Polesworth vs. Etone After winning our last three matches by quite some scores, we didn t play that well. In the first ten minutes, they were dominating us but they weren t having that many shots. However we were getting plenty of shots off and working their keeper. Unluckily for us, he was having a blinder. We were getting plenty of shots off but he was saving them all. Eventually, they scored from a cross and a header. Our keeper could do nothing about it. Their next goal was from the penalty spot after we were all frustrated and gave it away. Our goalkeeper, Josh, got his fingers to it but couldn t keep it out. We then started to attack a bit more and from a cross, their own player headed it in, which made it 2-1. Then after Kai Buckley hit the post, Dylan out left wing tapped it in to make it 2-2. Unfortunately then it started to rain and then hail, so we were all soaked and couldn t really see. After that we started to look tired and let in one goal and then 10 minutes before the end, another goal. In the end, it ended 4-2 to them and our first loss of the season. By James Aucott-Hermann

Particular praise goes to Josie who achieved a score of 105 out of a possible 135, for which she is awarded a Merit and puts her in the top 25% of participating students across the country.
