Thomas Bach Président, Comité international olympique THOMAS BACH MESSAGE DU PRÉSIDENT, COMITÉ INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIQUE MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT, INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE Welcome to the 2016 SportAccord Convention in Lausanne. The Olympic Capital is a truly fitting location to discuss the future of sport. What better occasion than an Olympic year to remind ourselves that the universal values of sport are more relevant in the world today than ever before. This is why the 2016 SportAccord Convention is such an important moment for all Stakeholders from both within the Olympic Movement and the wider world of sport to come together to discuss the trends that will define the future of sport. With the Olympic Games Rio 2016 on the horizon, it will be a timely opportunity to look at how the reforms of Olympic Agenda 2020 are shaping the future of sport and strengthening the partnership between the IOC and all International Federations. This gathering of sports leaders is also an opportunity to highlight the crucial importance of credibility and good governance in sport. As the role and relevance of sport in society continues to grow, so do the expectations of the public with regards to the integrity of sports organisations and sports competitions. It is the shared responsibility of everyone in the world of sport to provide new answers to new questions. We have called on and we expect all sports organisations to make every effort in implementing good governance standards and practices because at the end of day, we all share the responsibility to uphold the integrity of the world of sport. In this context, it is encouraging to see The Mission of Sport as a key theme at this year s SportAccord Convention. This shows that the importance of upholding the values of sport is resonating among all Stakeholders of the world of sport. Sport is global and we need a global forum like the SportAccord Convention to continue to exchange ideas, forge partnerships and deepen the friendships that unite all sports in the world. In this spirit, I wish you a successful 2016 SportAccord Convention. If you can juggle a ball three times, you can excel at Teqball as well. Teqball is the purest type of football, since there is no physical contact between the players, and therefore injuries resulting from impacts or rough tackling can never take place in the game or during practice. Moreover, the players cannot touch the table either according to the official rules, which further reduces the risk of injury. Teqball is not football s rival but rather its complement. Teqball enchances players confidence, perfects their passing techniques and develops decision making skills not to mention the so-called first touch moves that are more than essential in modern-day football.
