Are we still in Texas?? t seems that even the rain can't keep a Southwest Reiner from going to a show! The updated RHA year-end standings at the end of this newsletter include both the and the Texas. Only two more shows to go so don't miss the One Hot Reining in on July and the RHA and Show Oct Thanks to Tracy Lynch for another successful Rookie Day! f you have not attended this event in the past look for it on our calendar for next year and make it a point to attend! Plans are moving along nicely for the RHA and Show. The schedule, forms, conditions and sponsorship information will be on the website very soon. Note the addition of the schooling class scheduled for Tues. along with the paid warm-ups Sat.-Mon. We are trying to allow for plenty of opportunities to prepare horses in a "relaxed show" environment. Long time RHA supporter Mike Billingsley, of Billingsley Ford, has signed a three year deal to sponsor the Open division. Billingsley has been a sponsor of the Southwest and Show for two decades. During that time Billingsley Ford has developed a large client list among the biggest money winners in our industry. To acknowledge this strong relationship, Billingsley Ford became a naming sponsor for the Open division last year. As truck sales director Donnie Gillham observed, Reiners have shown how much they believe in Billingsley Ford, and Mike felt it s time for us to show how much we believe in the reining horse industry. This year the Southwest Reining rides with Billingsley Ford! Show Update The RHA affiliate qualifying shows have now ended so be sure that you check where you stand at the NRHA website. f you are in the top ten for any class then you will be eligible to compete for the South Central Affiliate Championship and qualify to compete for the North American Championships held at the NRHA show. Liz Hayes put on a nice show for us back in May. The held at Ardmore, Oklahoma was a nice relaxing show where our members enjoyed the friendly competition. Jordan Donnelly proved once again that she is one to watch, taking both the Championship and Reserve Championship in the 13 and Under with her horses Hollywood All Star and Spotted Snowy River. Audra Ames also put together a great run to take home the Reserve Championship title in the with her talented gelding, The Natural Answer. Audra's horse also won a Morrison Bronze when he took top honors in the Open class with Shelli Ries. Kinzy Donnelly teamed up with Alexa Beaty's new horse Lizzi Whiz to win the Reserve Championship in both the Limited Open and the Novice Non Pro. The Novice Non Pro finished up with Co Champions Amy Kowalsky with QHR Chocolena Pep and Victoria Lambert with Kick t n The Bud. Amy also took the Reserve Championship in the ntermediate Non Pro, which was won by Nick Wallis and Smart Smokin Chic. Ronald Thompson and Gay Bar Chic ran away with the Championship title in the Non Pro class. Cynthia Booker and Taris Wildcat took the Reserve Championship in the Rookie Our other show held in June was the Texas in Fort Worth. Always a big show, the management has worked hard the past few years on their scheduling to make it an exhibitor friendly show. Spanning over 3 days the show ran very smoothly and without late nights. Emily Winigar ran a beautiful pattern with Hot Hollywood Jewels to win the 13 and Under, followed closely by Jordan Donnelly and Hollywood All Star. Cash Bridges and Absolute An Juice put together a flawless pattern to be the highest placing Southwest member in the class. Another youth member Charles Berg rode his horse Whata Dunit to be the highest placing member in the Limited Non Pro. As usual, Ronald Thompson was at the top of the game taking the Reserve Championship with Gay Bar Chic in

3 the tough Novice Non Pro class. Nick Wallis with Smart Smokin Chic and Amy Kowalsky with QHR Chocolena Pep continued their sequence of Champion and Reserve Champion in the ntermediate Non Pro. Nick also won the Reserve Championship in the Non Pro class. Jana Simons took top honors with her beautiful mare Gunner Hold Your Fire in the Rookie class. Terry Erickson, a new member to our affiliate, proved he's one to keep an eye on taking the Championship in the ntermediate Open and being the highest placing member in the Open class. Also a Big Congratulations to our members that did well at the Paint World Show! Nick Wallis marked a with Smart Smokin Chic to win the Amateur Reining, followed closely by Jana Simons and Gunner Hold Your Fire who marked a 216 to take home the Reserve World Championship buckle. Cheri Wallis was also in the top ten, and her horse Dazzling Top Gun went on to win the World Championship in the Senior Reining. f you have news on any accomplishments made by a Southwest member, please submit them to spincityreiners@msn.com so we can give them some bragging rights!
