2 To promote, develop and enhance the sport of Reining in Alberta Reining Alberta Fall Classic Rules: 1. Open to all breeds and grade horses except AQHA classes which are open to registered Quarter Horses only. 2. NRHA rules apply to all NRHA classes and RA classes except where otherwise indicated. AQHA/APHA rules apply to AQHA/APHA classes but NRHA stewardship rules still apply to ALL horses competing at the show. 3. RA Classes: Both owners and riders must be current RA members to compete in RA classes. 4. NRHA classes: Both owners and riders must be current NRHA members to compete in NRHA classes. Horses must have a valid NRHA competition license to compete in NRHA classes. 5. AQHA/APHA class: Riders must hold current AQHA/APHA memberships to compete in AQHA/APHA classes. Horses must be registered with AQHA/APHA as per AQHA/APHA registration rules in 2018 AQHA/APHA Handbooks. 6. NRHA Green Reiner NRHA Associate membership is required, no NRHA License required for horse. 7. RAPP Classes require both RA and NRHA memberships for the rider and the owner. 8. Non-pros that do not hold a current NRHA non-pro card must complete the RA non-pro declaration form with their entry. NRHA nonpro horse ownership rules apply unless otherwise stipulated. 9. NRHA competition licenses and memberships may be purchased at the show office. 10. All contestants must sign a waiver before their show package will be released. 11. Photocopies of competition license, registration, and membership cards must accompany entries. 12. Competitors entering concurrent classes will pay only one judge s fee. 13. Cheques must be made out to Reining Alberta in Canadian funds. Debit/Visa and Mastercard are also accepted with a 3.5% surcharge (credit card authorization form MUST be filled out). Show Accounts to be paid with credit card MUST be closed with card in hand by end of show to avoid $25 service fee. Section B. Penalties, Fines, and Refunds: 1. Stalls MUST be reserved and PAID for by Stall reservation deadline. Late stall requests may not receive preferred stabling requests. Late Stall requests will be charged a $25/stall late fee. Payment must be postmarked by the entry deadline or late fees will apply. 2. NSF cheques are not considered timely payment and late fees will apply. A $25.00 NSF charge will also apply. 3. Scratches accompanied with a vet certificate and received 5 days prior to the start of the show, will receive their stall fee as refund. No other refunds will be given. 4. Substitutions will be accepted with a vet certificate and a $25 substitution fee. 5. Any competitor who enters in a class for which they are ineligible will incur a $50.00 fine. Section C. Pay Out: 1. NRHA payback percentages will be used to calculate pay outs unless otherwise stipulated. 2. Reining Alberta will retain 50% of entry fees. 3. RAPP classes: RA will retain 5% of entry fees, and pay out according to RAPP payout schedule 4. Payout cheques will be mailed within 45 days of the show after confirmation of results is received from NRHA. Section D. Eligibility: 1. It is the competitor s responsibility to be aware of their earnings and enter classes accordingly. Eligibility criteria are explained in the class list provided in the show package for all classes and are as of Jan 1st, current year. 2. RA classes use lifetime earnings which are the total of all moneys earned at any reining event. Lifetime eligibility lists are available at 3. NRHA classes use NRHA earnings only, which are moneys earned in a NRHA approved event. NRHA eligibility lists are available at 4. AQHA/APHA classes are based on horse s age and rider s status and membership. See 2018 AQHA/APHA Handbooks for more information. Section E. Entries: 1. Pre-registration of entries is still a preferred method, via mail, or fax and MUST be accompanied by cheque or credit card (c/c auth form req d). Entries will close at 4pm on the day prior to show day. At that point, entries for the next day (ie: Friday 4pm entries close for Saturday s classes) will be CLOSED. NO EXCEPTIONS! Draws will be posted 6 7pm for next day of classes. Section F. Stalls and Arena Availability: 1. See show package for specific open riding times, move in time & show office hours. 2. The show committee reserves the right to close the arena for maintenance at any time they deem necessary. Section G. Show Management: 1. Any concerns must be directed to the NRHA show representative s attention. 2. No mistreatment or abuse of a horse will be tolerated. 3. All competitors and spectators must conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner at all times. 4. Show management decisions will be final and binding. 5. All horses being ridden must be in full tack while on the grounds. Riding double or bareback is not allowed. 6. No Lunging in the show pen or the covered main warm up pen. Section H. Paid Warm Ups 1. Paid Warm Ups are on a first pay first serve basis. Limit of 1 per horse & only for horses that are competing. NEW: Additional warm ups may come available on a first come first serve basis 2 days prior to first day of show.

8 2018 REINING ALBERTA SUMMER CLASSIC STALL RESERVATION FORM --- STALL RESERVATION DEADLINE AUGUST 29, 2018 Stall reservations forms MUST be received by August 29th with payment for stalls in full, NO OPEN CHEQUES. Stall assignments sent in without payment will be returned to stall agent. Stalls will be assigned on a first come first serve basis, with priority given to event sponsors. NO PHONE IN RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! Stall agents/trainers are responsible for submitting complete payment of stalls by the 08/29/18 deadline. $25.00, per stall, late fee for reservations received after 08/29/18 After August 29 th, STALLS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
