2 RMSJ 2018 WINTER TRAINING SERIES The Management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping would like to extend to all competitors and owners, its warmest wishes for the New Year, and the best of luck in the upcoming show season marks the 21st Anniversary that the management of RMSJ has been hosting tournaments here at Anderson Ranch. We promise our competitors that we will remain committed to providing quality events that help develop both the horse and rider. As in the past, this team will pride itself in continuously offering improvements to the venue and the tournaments, all to make the experience better for you, the exhibitor. While you are here we encourage you to take a look around the facility. We assure our competitors and spectators that we will provide a warm comfortable environment for the Winter Training Series. We welcome our Winter Training Series Sponsor for the 2018 Season, The Horse Store. The Horse Store joined the Rocky Mountain team of sponsors for the first time in 2012 and we re very pleased to have them back. They specialize in english riding apparel, first aid and health supplies, tack, and gifts for horse lovers. Please take the time to visit their store in Kensington! Remember that these Winter Training Series tournaments are the starting point to riders earning points towards qualifying for the 2018 the Santa Claus Classic. Bring your family and friends out to Anderson Ranch to enjoy some great competition hosted by Rocky Mountain Show Jumping. As always, we will feature a comfortable cafe so that you can enjoy a nice meal while viewing the competition from the balcony overlooking the arena. The management committee reserves the right to remove any groom, trainer, owner, manager, or rider from the tournament without compensation. Any acts of discourtesy, or disobedience to the judges or officials by the owner, rider, manager, trainer or groom shall disqualify them from further competition in the tournament and the owner shall forfeit all fees. Inhumane treatment of a horse including polling, or other abuse will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disqualification, and forfeiture of the fees. In the case of disqualification, the horse winning the succeeding prize shall receive the prize of the disqualified horse and the other prizes will be adjusted accordingly. Courses will be posted in the hitching ring one half hour prior to the start of each class. Hors Concours with permission from the management. Anyone exhibiting dangerous or unsportsmanlike behavior may, at the discretion of the tournament committee, be expelled from the grounds and forfeit fees. These tournaments are Wild Rose AEF Sanctioned Tournaments and the full set of rules can be found on the Alberta Equestrian Federation website. Entry Procedure Entries must be in the hands of the show secretary by the closing date listed on entry forms. Entry forms must be accompanied by a cheque, money order or credit card number to cover all entry fees, office fees, stabling fees and any other applicable fees. N.S.F. cheques will result in an additional $40 service fee. Competitors are responsible for their own errors or those of their agents in preparation of their entry forms. Juniors must have a parent or guardian sign their entry form. Entries received after the closing date will be subject to a $25 late fee. The Series management reserves the right to limit entries in any division and to refuse or decline any entry without being liable for compensation or damages. 5 Liability Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones nor the owners, management, tournament committee, nor any of its staff or agents shall in any way be liable for any accident, injury, damage, loss or for any other matter that may happen to exhibitors, competitors, owners, or members of their families, or their agents or to anyone on the grounds, or for any other loss, claim, matter, circumstances or event whatever, in connection with or arising out of, or attributable to, the tournament or any journey to or from the tournament. It is understood that under no circumstances shall rocky Mountain Show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones not the owner, management, Tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents be liable for any loss, damages, claims or costs as a result of Rocky Mountain show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones, not the owners, Management, tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents, negligence, and that you agree to indemnify and save harmless Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones nor the owners, management, tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents from and against any and all liability arising out of any such loss, damages, claims or costs. Prizes Ribbons will be awarded to eighth place in all classes Prize Money will be combination of cash & Rocky Mountain Horseshoe Rewards and divided as follows: Total $30 Prize Money 1st $15 2nd $10 3rd $5 Refunds Exhibitors cancelling their entries before the closing date will be issued a refund in full. After the closing date of entries but prior to the start of the tournament, shall, upon presentation of a valid veterinarian certificate, forfeit their stall and office fees, all other fees will be refunded. Non veterinarian scratches will not be refunded after the closing date. Management The series management reserves the right to limit entries and to refuse or decline any entry without being liable for compensation or damages. Memberships Riders must be AEF members only. Headgear Proper protective headgear (helmet) with safety harness permanently affixed to the helmet is compulsory for everyone riding over fences anywhere on the competition ground. It is mandatory that the protective headgear meets the A.S.T.M. standard and displays the SEI seal. Stabling Stabling will be available from 11:00am Friday and until one hour after the completion of the last class of the series. Stalls are pre-bedded. Stabling is limited. Day stalls will be available at the rate of $53 per day (includes bedding) No horse will be placed in an unassigned stall without approval of the management. Schooling Passes Schooling Passes will be available the day prior, Friday, to the start of the Winter Training Series tournaments. Rocky Mountain is please to offer schooling passes for $40 for schooling over a course in the tournament ring. Please circle on your entry form. Trainers can book a time for groups. Please caroline@rmsj.ca to book times. Warm ups will also be available prior to each division as stated in the tentative schedule. In the interest of safety, the number of horses in the arena at any one time will be limited, as will time allocated to each horse for warm up.
