5 Three Breed Classic Horse Show RULES 2016 ALL EXHIBITORS and TRAINERS PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY STALL POLICIES Horses may be moved into stalls any time after 12:00 noon on Friday, August 5 th, NO EARLY ARRIVALS PLEASE WITHOUT CALLING SHOW SECRETARY FOR APPROVAL. If staying over Sunday night, all stalls must be vacated by 10:00 AM sharp Monday, August 8 th. No use of empty stalls for storage, temporary usage, day usage without payment to the Show Secretary. Stalls must be booked and paid by July 25 th, 2016 at a cost of $20.00 per day/per stall. A separate stall clean out deposit in the amount of $25.00 (per reserved stall) must accompany entry form. Refundable upon inspection by the Manager that your stall has been cleaned out. Stalls are booked on a first come first serve basis and must be booked in the name of the party responsible for the payment of the stalls. Exhibitors who wish to be stabled together must reserve their stalls under the name of the exhibitor/owner. Stalls will be labeled on Thursday, August 4 th, in advance of exhibitor arrival. Show Management reserves the right to allocate stalls as required and does not guarantee stall placements. MEMBERSHIPS Show Management must inspect breed membership cards or a photocopy. If the exhibitor cannot produce a valid/current membership card or a photocopy, they must purchase a new membership and pay the required fee before entering. This fee is non-refundable. REGISTRATION PAPERS A photocopy of registration papers must be attached with all entry forms or be provided to the show office prior to entering. Refunds: Will be made to exhibitors who present a copy of a Veterinarian s or Doctor s Certificate before the Show starts. Due to a shortage of office staff, full pre-entry is encouraged. Any and All Post Entries at the show grounds will be charged a one time Post Entry Fee of $30.00, regardless of pre-entry. Classes may be post entered at the show office for the fees noted above, but all accounts must be settled before awards will be received. There will be no admittance into a class at the gate without office verification of a paid entry in that class. REGISTERED BREED CLASSES All classes will be run under the current rules and regulations of the breed association class in which the exhibitor has entered. Show Management reserves the right to combine Junior and Senior horse classes to ensure sufficient entries for point classes upon consultation with the judge and exhibitors in those classes, or as per applicable Association rule book. All classes will be subject to cancellation for insufficient entries, to be determined by Show Management. Gate Holds will not be permitted without Show Management permission. Breaks are indicated in the program but may change at the discretion of Show Management. All changes will be announced. AQHA Youth and Amateur halter classes may be combined into 2 Year and under and 3 Year and over if insufficient entries (less than 3) are received for the various age groups. APHA and ApHC Most Colorful classes will not count towards High Point Awards and entry in these classes are included with the Weekend Rate for the open division. OPEN AND STAKE CLASSES Open Classes will be run under the rules and regulations of the American Quarter Horse Association for judging purposes. Open / Stake Classes are open to any breed, registered or nonregistered horse / rider combinations, unless if specified as nonpro. All Open Classes will be single judged and will not qualify for breed association points. Stake Class entry fee ($50.00) will consist of a $10.00 administration fee (retained by office). 6 Open All Breed Freestyle Reining Class Exhibitors, please bring your music on a CD a. Reining maneuvers originated from moves that a cow horse must use in performing its duties and have been refined to the high level of competition existing today. b. Freestyle Reining not only provides an opportunity to use these maneuvers creatively, but also to expand them to music by means of choreography. Riders are encouraged to use musical scores which permit them to show the athletic ability of the horse in a crowd appealing way. c. NRHA Rules will apply, except where the following Rules preempt same. d. Required Maneuvers will be defined as follows: A minimum of 4 consecutive spins to the right A minimum of 4 consecutive spins to the left A minimum of 3 stops A minimum of 1 lead change from right to left (flying or simple; extra credit will be awarded for flying changes) A minimum of 1 lead change from left to right (flying or simple; extra credit will be awarded for flying changes) e. Exhibitors will only be judged astride. f. Exhibitors are allowed to use two hands (as well as one or no hands) and any bit approved by the NRHA Handbook, including snaffle bits and bosals approved for use in the Snaffle Bit or Hackamore classes. g. Failure to perform all the required maneuvers or failure to complete the performance within the time limit will result in a score of 0. h. Additional maneuvers such as rollbacks, backups, speed variations, and non-classical Reining maneuvers, such as half pass and side pass, are appropriate in Freestyle and shall be given appropriate credit. Additional repetitions of required maneuvers are appropriate, but will only add or subtract from the existing scores already given for the required maneuvers, not as additional scores. i. Equipment used in Freestyle must adhere to the following standards: All equipment must be non-abusive and humane based on NRHA Rules and Guidelines. Any equipment not specifically covered by or in conflict with standard equipment guidelines must be non-abusive to the horse. j. Time Limit. A maximum of 4 minutes including any introductions. The time limit will be from the beginning of the music or from the beginning of the introduction (whichever is first) and will end with the music. k. Costumes. Permitted but not required. l. Emphasis is placed on performing the reining maneuvers to music. m. Props. Permitted but at no time may hinder the judges view of the horse. The use of props will not add to the score. AWARDS DIVISION HI POINT & RESERVE HI POINT All Awards for the Terrace Three Breed Classic Horse Show will be presented 1 hour after the final class of the Show, unless otherwise announced by the Show Committee. There is no minimum requirement to be eligible for High Point Awards. APHA and ApHC Most Colorful Classes will not be eligible as a halter class when compiling points towards a Hi-Point Award. Hi-Point Awards will be presented to the following divisions; APHA - Amateur Division ~ Solid Paint Bred ~ Open Division ~ Youth Division ApHC Non-Pro Division ~ Open Division ~ Youth Division AQHA Amateur Division ~ Junior Horse Division ~ Senior Horse Division ~ Youth Division OPEN - Senior ~ Youth Points for all of the Hi-Point Awards are based on the following: xx # in Class 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 4 th 5 th 6 th 7 th 8th or over TIES Ties will be broken by choosing the exhibitor with the most 1 st places over the other tied exhibitor. If a tie still exists, then the exhibitor with the most 2 nd places will be deemed the winner. DRUG TESTING All classes sanctioned by the Terrace Three Breed Classic Horse Show may be subject to drug testing and will comply with breed association rules and regulations. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT AND / OR INHUMANE TREATMENT When an exhibitor, owner and / or his representative, acting on behalf of the exhibitor, is guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct and / or inhumane treatment of a horse while on the show grounds, the Show Management, at its sole discretion, may suspend such individual(s) from competition, and a report will be forwarded to its breed association. No refund of entry fee will be made. YOUTH It is strongly recommended that youth wear ASTM / SEI approved helmets when competing in under saddle events. Where helmets are worn by youth, doing so will not count against them. GENERAL Camping Camping is permitted and is free for the show weekend. There are no designated locations for camping. Exhibitors camping on the show grounds are asked to choose camping locations that do not interfere with the flow of regular traffic and access to the show arenas by exhibitors and their horses. There is no plug in available on the grounds. Horse Manure: Hay and shavings around stalls and from trailers or camper must be removed and properly disposed in manure bins. DAMAGES OR LOSSES The Terrace Three Breed Classic Show Management and Show Committee will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be the condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show Management blameless for any loss or accident to his horse or horse equipment which may occur from accident, sickness, fire, or otherwise. All owners and exhibitors will be responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to the barns or properties on the show grounds and will be billed accordingly. RELEASE FORM The release form on the back of the entry form must be read and signed before showing.

7 DISPUTE RESOLUTION Any exhibitor making objection to the awarding of any of the prizes or payouts, shall lodge his or her objection, in writing, using the Dispute Form available at the show office, immediately after the award is made. A deposit of $25.00 must accompany the objection, which is refundable, if the objection is upheld. Should any question or dispute arise, which is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Manager who will consult with the Show Committee, whose decision shall be final.
