Kickoff is 1:5 p.m. PT. The Chargers 2-1 at home will be looking to halt a two-game skid, while the Raiders 1-1 on the road also have dropped two straight. Oakland had its bye last weekend. Sunday s game will have a throwback feel as the Bolts will take the field in their Powder Blue alternative uniform. CBS Sports will televise the game with Andrew Catalon calling the play-byplay. He ll be joined in the booth by analysts Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein. KFMB-TV, Channel 8 in San Diego, and KCBS-TV, Channel 2 in Los Angeles and Orange County, will televise the game in Southern California. RIVERS POSTS EYE-POPPING NUMBERS Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is posting eye-popping numbers six games into the 215 season. He leads the NFL this season in attempts (253), completions (177) and yards (2,116), completing passes at a 7-percent clip with 12 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Last Sunday at Lambeau Field, Rivers shattered franchise records for attempts, completions and yards in posting the first-ever 5-yard game in franchise history and just the 17th in NFL history. He went 43 of 65 for 53 yards with a pair of touchdowns bettering the previous franchise marks for attempts (58), completions (37) and yards (455). BOLTS COME UP SHORT VS. PACKERS The Chargers came up just short, falling to the Green Bay Packers, 27-2, last Sunday at Lambeau Field. San Diego had four shots to tie the game from inside Green Bay s three-yard line in the final 33 seconds, but the Packers held the Bolts out of the endzone and held on for the win. The Packers jumped out to an early 17-3 lead on a pair of touchdown runs by James Starks, including a 65-yarder on which he escaped a tackler in the backfield and ran free down the right sideline for the score. Up 17-3, the Packers could have inflicted more damage after recovering a Melvin Gordon fumble, but the Bolts defense came up with a key three-and-out, highlighted by a two-yard tackle for loss by Denzel Perryman and a nine-yard sack by Jerry Attaochu on third down. After that three-and-out, the Chargers offense put together a 12-play, 88-yard drive that consumed the final 4:47 of the half and Dontrelle Inman s first-career touchdown catch brought the Bolts to within 17-1 at the break. San Diego s defense answered the bell to start the second half and forced the Packers to go three-and-out once again. Attaochu s second sack of the game, another on third down, forced the Packers to punt. The Chargers then tied the game on the ensuing possession as Ladarius Green hauled in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to tie the game, After an exchange of punts, Green Bay reclaimed the lead (24-17) on an eight-yard touchdown catch by James Jones. The Chargers continued to scratch and claw, getting within 24-2 on a 32-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. Still up 24-2 late in the fourth, Green Bay drove to the Chargers 1, but San Diego s defense buckled down and held the Packers to a field goal for a 27-2 lead that set up San Diego s final drive. The Chargers got the ball back one last time with 2:37 remaining and Rivers drove the team 77 yards to the Packers three, but the Bolts were unable to punch in the game-tying score and Green Bay escaped with the 27-2 win. KEY NOTES FROM THE CHARGERS-PACKERS GAME Philip Rivers set franchise records for attempts (65), completions (43) and yards (53) in the game. It was the first 5-yard game in franchise history and just the 17th in NFL history. 2 Rivers started his 15th consecutive game against the Packers. He owns the longest streak of consecutive starts in franchise history. Keenan Allen started the game in record-breaking fashion before leaving the contest with an injury in the second half. He caught 14 passes for 157 yards, including six catches in the first quarter and 11 in the first half. His 14 catches were one shy of the franchise record for a game. The mark of 15 was originally set by Kellen Winslow at Green Bay Oct. 7, 1984 and it had stood until Allen tied it in this year s season opener on Sept. 13 vs. Detroit. Allen was targeted 15 times vs. the Packers and he caught 14 of the 15. Dontrelle Inman caught his first NFL touchdown pass, a floating one-yarder from Rivers on 4th-and-goal on the final play of the first half. The Chargers racked up 548 yards of total offense, their greatest total since a 593-yard performance against the Los Angeles Raiders Nov. 1, Jerry Attaochu had two third-down sacks to cap off three-and-outs by the San Diego defense. His first was a nine-yard sack on 3rd-and-7 on Green Bay s last possession of the first half and his second was a four-yard sack on another 3rd-and-7 on the Packers first drive of the second half. Antonio Gates caught his 8th career pass to ignite a third quarter touchdown drive. Ladarius Green finished the drive with a 19-yard touchdown catch, his third of the season. Malcom Floyd made the key play on the drive, hauling in a season-long 5-yard catch with the Chargers backed up on a 3rd-and-17. Denzel Perryman made his first NFL start and led the team with nine total tackles. He also made two key plays to contribute to separate three-andouts. In the second quarter, Perryman had a two-yard tackle for loss and in the fourth quarter, he had a forced fumble vs. Eddie Lacy that resulted in another loss, this time four yards, for the Packers. Corey Liuget had a five-yard sack in the fourth quarter. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Philip Rivers has thrown for more than 3 yards in three straight games, tied for the second-longest streak in franchise history. If he throws for 3 yards again on Sunday vs. the Raiders, he will tie Dan Fouts team record. Fouts threw for 3-plus yards in four straight in 1979 and again in the last two games of the 198 season and the first two games of the 1981 season. Rivers has thrown for more than 3 yards four times this season and he s thrown for more than 4 yards twice (Detroit and at Green Bay). The team record for 3-yard games in a season is eight (Fouts, 198). Rivers has the most 4-yard games in a season, three in 213. One of those was a 411- yard game vs. this week s opponent, Oakland. Rivers ranks 13th all-time with 264 career touchdown passes. Currently, the New York Giants Eli Manning is 12th (269) and Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana is 11th with 273. Rivers ranks 17th in NFL history with 38,771 career passing yards. Pittsburgh s Ben Roethlisberger, who is currently injured and not playing, ranks 16th with 39,969. Rivers needs 1,198 yards to catch Roethlisberger. Rivers ranks second in team history with 3,22 career completions. He needs 96 more to break Fouts team record of 3,297. Rivers has posted a passer rating of 12 or higher 38 times during his career. The Chargers are 35-3 (.921) in those games. He s also posted a rating of 13. or higher 21 times and the Chargers are 21- in those games. Rivers has started 15 consecutive games. It s the NFL s second-longest active streak behind Eli Manning s 173. Rivers overall passing numbers have been outstanding since the arrival of Mike McCoy in San Diego in 213. Since the start of the 213 season, Rivers owns the NFL s second-highest completion percentage (68.3), the fifth-highest passer rating (1.1), the third-most touchdown passes (75) and the fourth-most yards (1,88). Gates needs 1 more to catch Tony Gonzalez (111) for sixth all-time and first all-time among tight ends. Gates has 86 career catches, fourth all-time among tight ends. He needs 1 more to move past Shannon Sharpe (815) and into third. Gates is the Chargers all-time leader in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,21) and touchdown catches (11). Gates 11 touchdown catches since he came into the NFL in 23 are the most in the NFL over the last 12-plus years (23-current). Philip Rivers and Gates have connected on 74 touchdowns during their career, most in NFL history for a quarterback-tight end tandem. Gates has actually caught 76 touchdown passes since Rivers became the team s starting quarterback in 26, but two of the touchdown passes were thrown by LaDainian Tomlinson on halfback-option plays (Nov. 26, 26 vs. Oakland and Sept. 9, 27 vs. Chicago). Allen ranks third in the NFL this season in receiving yards with 61. Through his first 35 games with the Chargers, Allen has 21 catches (most in team history) and 2,43 receiving yards (fourth). Malcom Floyd ranks 1th in franchise history with 37 career catches. He needs 66 more to catch Wes Chandler (373) for ninth. Floyd currently has 32 career touchdown catches. He needs one more to move into a tie with Tony Martin for 1th in team history. 3 CHARGERS-RAIDERS SERIES HISTORY The Chargers and Raiders have met 111 times since both teams came into existence in 196. Oakland leads the series, but the Chargers have had a decided advantage of late, claiming three straight, six of the last seven and 19 of the last 23. The Chargers have also won the last three meetings at Qualcomm Stadium. CHARGERS-RAIDERS CONNECTIONS Chargers owner Alex Spanos makes his home in the Northern California city of Stockton, Calif., approximately 73 miles from Oakland. Chargers Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos was born in Stockton and attended the University of the Pacific. Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy grew up in Novato, California, 3 miles across the San Francisco Bay from Oakland. NOTEWORTHY VS. THE RAIDERS In last season s win at Oakland on Oct. 12, Malcom Floyd had a fiveyard touchdown catch and he led the team with five catches for 13 yards. Antonio Gates had a one-yard game-tying touchdown catch (21-21) in the fourth quarter. Branden Oliver was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week after rushing for 11 yards and scoring the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes and racked up 313 yards for his fifth-straight multi-touchdown game, tying the longest stretch of his career. Rivers also extended his NFL-record streak of games with a passer rating over 12 to five. Cornerback Jason Verrett, a Northern California native and the team s first-round pick in 214, helped ice the win over the Raiders with his first NFL interception with 1:13 remaining in the fourth quarter. In last season s 13-6 win against the Raiders in San Diego on Nov. 16, Jerry Attaochu had a nine-yard sack late in the Bolts 13-6 win. It had been the NFL s longest active streak. On special teams, Mike Scifres earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after landing five of nine punts inside the 2, while Darrell Stuckey downed two punts inside the 1 to go along with a special teams tackle inside the 2. On Nov. 2, 1963, the Chargers posted a 44- win over the Raiders. It is the second-greatest margin of victory in a game in team history. On Oct. 6, 213, Keenan Allen scored his first-career touchdown on a seven-yard catch in the fourth quarter at Oakland. In the teams second meeting that season, Allen s third-quarter touchdown catch broke a 1-1 tie in the Bolts win Playing for Kansas City on Oct. 23, 211, Brandon Flowers had his secondcareer multi-interception game with two picks vs. the Raiders, including a 58-yard touchdown return off a pick vs. Carson Palmer. During the Chargers 212 season opener in Oakland, Malcom Floyd had a six-yard touchdown catch. This came one game after he racked up 127 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown catch in the Bolts 21 season-ending win at Oakland. In 21, Floyd had a career-high 213 yards in a game at Oakland, which was the fourth-best single-game performance in team history and the best since It included a team-record 154 yards in the first half and a 41-yard touchdown catch. In 212, Antonio Gates caught the 83rd touchdown pass of his career during a Dec. 3 game vs. Oakland, tying Lance Alworth for the second-most touchdowns in team history. In 211 in a game at Oakland, Gates had a season-long 38-yard TD on 3rdand-9 play. He also ignited another scoring drive with a 37-yard catch, and he contributed to a third-quarter touchdown drive with nine-yard catch on a 3rd-and-4, followed by a 16-yarder that put him at a season-high 16 yards for game. In 21, Gates had a 19-yard touchdown catch at Oakland to tie Alworth s team record for consecutive games with a touchdown. In 24 career games vs. the Raiders, Gates has 96 catches for 1,273 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 212, Melvin Ingram made his NFL debut at Oakland. That day, he ended the Raiders first series with a forced fumble and later he played a key role in an aborted play that resulted in a 25-yard loss, leading to a punt and a touchdown on San Diego s ensuing possession for a 1-3 lead. Late in the fourth quarter, his onside kick recovery sealed the Bolts victory. Ingram then had a team and season-high four special teams tackles in the 212 season finale vs. Oakland. Playing for Baltimore in 212, Jacoby Jones was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after registering a 15-yard kickoff return touchdown during a 55-2 win over the Raiders. In 29, he won the same award after logging a 95-yard kickoff return touchowns during a 29-6 win. In 213, Philip Rivers passed for 411 yards at Oakland to become the first quarterback in team history with back-to-back 4-yard games. It was his team-record third 4-yard game of the season and the sixth of his career, tying Dan Fouts for most in team history. Rivers threw the 21st and 22nd touchdown passes of his career that same day to pass John Hadl (21) for second in team history. In the team s second meeting of the season in San Diego, Rivers threw a TD pass in his 19th-straight game, tying Hadl ( ) for the third-longest streak in team history. In 212, Rivers posted a season-high 142. passer rating vs. the Raiders. In 21, Rivers passed for 431 yards at Oakland, which at the time was ninth in team history. It included a career-high 29 in the first half. In 29, Rivers led the game-winning touchdown drive of 89 yards in nine plays over the final 2:3 at Oakland. He went 6-of-7 for 79 yards on the game-winning drive. In 26, Rivers made his first-career start at Oakland on ESPN s Monday Night Football and he led the Chargers to a 27- win. In 213, Eric Weddle had a highlight-reel pick off Oakland s Matt McGloin, leaping in the air to break up the pass before making a diving catch. 9 NEW FACES The Chargers added a number of key new coaches and players during the offseason. Eighteen of 53 players on the opening-week roster, more than one-third of the roster, were players who were new to the team. On the coaching side, Mike Nolan took over for the departed Joe Barry (Washington) as the Chargers linebackers coach, while Chris Shula took over for Chad Grimm (Washington) as the quality control coach for the defense. The list of new players includes tackle Joe Barksdale (St. Louis), guard Orlando Franklin (Denver), guard-tackle Chris Hairston (Buffalo), wide receiver Stevie Johnson (San Francisco), wide receiver and kick/punt returner Jacoby Jones (Baltimore), cornerback Patrick Robinson (New Orleans), safety Jimmy Wilson (Miami) and center J.D. A CLOSER LOOK AT THE BOLTS FREE AGENT ADDITIONS Joe Barksdale spent his rookie season with Oakland after being drafted by the Raiders in the third round. He played in all 16 games as a rookie, primarily on special teams, but he was waived early during his second season. The St. Louis Rams claimed Barksdale and he played sparingly for them in 212, but three weeks into the 213 season, he was inserted into the starting lineup at right tackle and he remained there for 13 of the Rams final 14 games. In 214, Barksdale started all 16 games for the Rams at right tackle. Orlando Franklin came from Denver where he originally joined the Broncos as a second-round pick (46th overall) in 211. During his first four seasons, Franklin started 7 of a possible 71 games, including playoffs. From , he started 53 of 54 games at right tackle and last season, he started all 17, including playoffs, at right guard. Chris Hairston is a former fourth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills. Hairston has played in 41 career games. He missed the entire 213 season, but returned to play in all 16 games for the Bills in 214. Stevie Johnson is a former seventh-round pick of the Buffalo Bills (28). He joins the Chargers having caught 336 career passes for 4,267 yards (12.7 average) and 31 touchdowns. From 21-12, Johnson strung together three straight 1,-yard seasons in Buffalo, the first player in Bills history to do so. The run included a 21 campaign in which he racked up 82 catches for 1,73 yards and 1 scores, all career highs. Jacoby Jones has racked up exactly 1, all-purpose yards in eight NFL regular seasons. He spent his first five NFL seasons (27-11) in Houston and the last three with Baltimore (212-14). Jones played a prominent role in the Ravens reaching and winning Super Bowl XLVII. Jones has scored 26 career touchdowns, including playoffs. He has 16 touchdown catches, six kickoff returns and four punt returns. His nine kickoff and punt return touchdowns in the regular season are tied for sixth all-time and his five kickoff return touchdowns are tied for eighth. Jones also holds the NFL record for the longest kickoff return in Super Bowl history (18 yards). Patrick Robinson was a first-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints (32nd overall) in 21. Robinson played in 58 games over five seasons in New Orleans, totaling 185 tackles, 46 passes defensed and nine interceptions. Jimmy Wilson, a San Diego native, was a seventh-round pick (235th overall) of the Miami Dolphins in 211. From , Wilson played in 6 games and made 21 starts for the Dolphins. He saw action on both defense and special teams. Wilson blocked three kicks during his Dolphins tenure, tying the franchise record. Wilson also recorded four interceptions, including a game-clinching pick against Atlanta in 213. His career totals include 137 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles, 16 passes defensed and 17 stops on special teams. J.D. Walton joined the Chargers as a free agent in late September. Walton spent the 214 season with the New York Giants where he started all 16 games at center. The Giants rushed for more than 1,6 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, while quarterback Eli Manning passed for more than 4,4 yards and tossed 3 touchdown passes with Walton anchoring the offensive line. Walton was a third round pick by Denver in 21 and he spent the three-plus seasons with the Broncos (21-13) where he played under Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy. A CLOSER LOOK AT THE BOLTS DRAFT CLASS All five of the Chargers 215 draft choices made the team s opening-day 53-man roster. Melvin Gordon won the 214 Doak Walker Award as the nation s top running back. Runner up for the 214 Heisman Trophy, Gordon rushed for 4,915 yards and scored 49 total touchdowns, both third in school history. He averaged an FBS-record (Football Bowl Subdivision) 7.8 yards per carry for his career and finished his career at Wisconsin third in career rushing yards and total touchdowns. Denzel Perryman was an All-America and All-ACC pick who racked up 351 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles and two interceptions. He was the University of Miami s leading tackler each of his last two seasons, tallying 18 stops as a junior in 213 and 11 as a senior in 214. Craig Mager was an All-Sun Belt and All-WAC performer at Texas State where he recorded eight career interceptions along with 211 tackles, 47 passes defensed, 9.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. Kyle Emanuel won the 214 Buck Buchanan Award as the Football Championship Subdivision s top defensive player after leading the FCS with 19.5 sacks and 32.5 tackles for loss. His career totals included 234 tackles, 35.5 sacks, 58.5 tackles for loss and two blocked field goals. The Bison went 58-3 during Emanuel s career in the process of capturing four conference titles and four NCAA championships. Darius Philon was a second-team All-SEC pick as a redshirt sophomore in 214. Philon collected 92 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in two seasons at Arkansas. THREE UNDRAFTED ROOKIES EARN ROSTER SPOTS Three undrafted rookies currently hold spots on the 53-man roster. Tyreek Burwell is an offensive tackle who started just four games as a senior at the University of Cincinnati. Burwell (6-5, 35) did not play for the Bearcats in 213 after transferring from SUNY-Cortland where he actually spent two seasons (211-12) as a tight end. Nick Dzubnar is a 6-1, 24-pound inside linebacker who s from nearby Mission Viejo, California. Dzubnar attended Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo where he was a consensus All-America and first-team All-Big Sky pick as a senior after logging a school-record 167 tackles. Dzubnar finished sixth in voting for the 214 Buck Buchanan Award as the top player in FCS. That award was actually won by fellow Chargers linebacker Kyle Emanuel who played at North Dakota State. Josh Lambo beat out veteran Nick Novak for the Chargers kicking job. Lambo was a second-team All-SEC pick as a senior at Texas A&M in 214. He hit 21 of 25 career field goal tries for a school-record 84. conversion percentage. Lambo took an unconventional path to reach the NFL. Prior to attending A&M, Lambo played professional soccer as a goalie in the MLS. He was drafted by FC Dallas in the first round (eighth overall) in 28 and he spent four years with FC Dallas. Lambo also spent time with the United States Men s National Under-2 Team, competing for that squad at the FIFA Under-2 World Cup in Egypt in 29.

10 The Chargers overcame an early 18-point deficit and rallied to defeat the Detroit Lions, 33-28, in their 215 season opener at Qualcomm Stadium. It tied for the second-largest deficit overcome in franchise history. The Lions jumped out to a 21-3 lead midway through the second quarter with two offensive touchdowns and a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown by safety Grover Quinn before the Chargers started chipping away. Danny Woodhead, playing in his first regular-season game since last September, started the comeback with a nine-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter to bring the Bolts within The Chargers got the ball to start the third quarter and scored on a Josh Lambo field goal to get within The teams traded turnovers on the next three possessions, including a diving interception by rookie outside linebacker Kyle Emanuel and another by cornerback Patrick Robinson. Robinson s pick helped set up a 12-yard touchdown catch by Stevie Johnson, his first as a Charger, and it brought the Bolts to within a point, On the ensuing WEEK 1 RECAP CHARGERS 33, DETROIT 28 possession, the Bolts defense came away with a three-and-out as Manti Te o and Cordarro Law combined for a key third-down stop to force a Lions punt. 11 The Chargers let a game slip away due to costly mistakes, including turnovers and penalties, in falling to the Cincinnati Bengals, 24-19, last Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. The Bolts opened the game with a strong three-and-out by the defense, but a muffed punt gave the ball right back to the Bengals. Two plays later, Andy Dalton threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Green and the Bengals took an early 7- lead. It was one of two first-half turnovers that allowed Cincinnati to jump out to a 14-6 lead at the end of the half. The Bengals other score came courtesy of a 45-yard scoring strike from Dalton to Marvin Jones. Late in the first half the Chargers appeared to score a touchdown that would have brought them to within on a 36-yard return by Jerry Attaochu after a sack-fumble forced by Manti Te o, but replay officials ruled that Dalton s arm was moving forward on the play and instead it went as nothing more than an incomplete pass. For the second straight week, the Chargers came out of the locker room at halftime and scored on the first possession of the third quarter, this time WEEK 2 RECAP CINCINNATI 24, CHARGERS 19 on a 1-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Stevie Johnson. That score brought the Bolts to within one at On the Bengals next possession, running back Jeremy Hill fumbled for the second time in the game, but the Chargers failed to take advantage as a 47-yard field goal attempt sailed wide left. Instead, the Bengals countered with a field goal of their own to stretch their lead to Three consecutive punts followed before Cincinnati jumped out to an 11-point lead on a nine-yard touchdown catch by Tyler Eifert. The Chargers answered right back though, as Malcom Floyd got loose down the right sideline and hauled in a 4-yard over-the-shoulder touchdown catch to get the Chargers back within five, 24-19, with 4:2 remaining. 12 WEEK 3 RECAP MINNESOTA 31, CHARGERS 14 The Chargers suffered their second straight defeat, falling to the Minnesota Vikings, 31-14, at TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Injuries were a major factor in the game as the Chargers were hit hard along the offensive line and in the secondary. The game was close in the first half. Minnesota jumped out to a 1- lead midway through the second quarter, but a 34-yard touchdown catch by Keenan Allen just before halftime sent the Chargers to the locker room down by just three at the break, 1-7. Minnesota scored 14 third-quarter points, including a 43-yard touchdown run by Adrian Peterson, who rushed for 126 yards in the game. Early in the fourth quarter, down 24-7, the Chargers were driving for a potential score when a thirddown pass was tipped and picked off by Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, who returned it 91 yards for a touchdown and a 31-7 lead. Kellen Clemens replaced Philip Rivers at quarterback late in the game and led the Bolts on a touchdown drive, with Allen hauling in his second score of the game a 19-yarder. Allen hauled in 12 passes for 133 yards and the two scores on the day. From an injury standpoint, center Chris Watt saw limited action due to a groin injury and the team lost both guard Orlando Franklin (ankle) and left tackle King Dunlap (concussion). 13 The Chargers snapped a two-game losing streak in dramatic fashion, defeating the Cleveland Browns, 3-27, on a 34-yard Josh Lambo field goal as time expired. The game was a back-and-forth affair that featured five lead changes. The teams combined for seven field goals, four from Cleveland s Travis Coons (36, 28, 33 and 4) and three from Lambo (46, 45, 34). Both quarterbacks also threw for more than 3 yards in the game. Cleveland s Josh McCown passed for 356 yards and two touchdowns, while Philip Rivers threw for 358 yards and three scores for the Bolts. The teams played to a tie after the first 3 minutes. The Chargers touchdown came courtesy of a 28-yard scoring strike from Rivers to Keenan Allen, his third scoring catch in the last two games, while the Browns came on a 34-yard pass from McCown to Duke Johnson. WEEK 4 RECAP CHARGERS 3, CLEVELAND 27 In the second half, the Chargers jumped out to a lead midway through the fourth quarter on two more Rivers touchdown passes, a 19-yarder to tight end Ladarius Green and a one-yarder to fellow tight end John Phillips. The Browns tied the game late in the fourth quarter when McCown tossed a one-yard touchdown pass to tight end Gary Barnidge and then added the two-point conversion on a pass to Taylor Gabriel. 14 The Chargers dropped a heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-2, on ESPN s Monday Night Football at Qualcomm Stadium. Le Veon Bell won the game for Pittsburgh with a one-yard run as time expired in the fourth quarter. The game was close throughout and a defensive struggle for much of the night. The teams scored just 1 points in the first half with San Diego taking a 7-3 lead into the locker room at the break. The Bolts points came on a 12-yard touchdown catch by Antonio Gates on their opening drive of the game. The back-and-forth continued until late in the third quarter when Pittsburgh took its first lead of the game on a 7-yard interception return for a touchdown by cornerback Antwon Blake. That gave the Steelers a 1-7 lead. The Chargers bounced back on their next series and drove for a 4-yard field goal WEEK 5 RECAP PITTSBURGH 24, CHARGERS 2 that tied the game at 1-1. 15 WEEK 6 RECAP GREEN BAY 27, CHARGERS 2 The Chargers came up just short, falling to the Green Bay Packers, 27-2, at Lambeau Field. San Diego had four shots to tie the game from inside Green Bay s three-yard line in the final 33 seconds, but the Packers held the Bolts out of the endzone and held on for the win. The Packers staked out to an early 17-3 lead on a pair of touchdown runs by James Starks, including a 65-yarder on which he escaped a tackler in the offensive backfield and got free down the right sideline for the score. Up 17-3, the Packers could have inflicted more damage after recovering a Melvin Gordon fumble, but the Bolts defense came up with a key three-and-out, highlighted by a two-yard tackle for loss by Denzel Perryman, who made his first NFL start in iconic Lambeau Field, and a nine-yard sack by Jerry Attaochu on third down. After that three-and-out, the Chargers offense put together a 12-play, 88-yard drive that consumed the final 4:47 of the half and Dontrelle Inman s first-career touchdown catch brought he Bolts to within 17-1 at the break. Green Bay began the third quarter on a short field as result of a celebration penalty following Inman s touchdown at the end of the first half, but San Diego s defense answered the bell and forced the Packers to go three-andout once again. Attaochu s second sack of the game, another on third down, forced the Packers to punt. The Chargers then tied the game on the ensuing possession as Ladarius Green hauled in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to tie the game, After an exchange of punts, Green Bay reclaimed the lead (24-17) on an eight-yard touchdown catch by James Jones. The Chargers continued to scratch and claw, getting within 24-2 on a 32-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. Still up 24-2 late in the fourth, Green Bay drove to the Chargers 1, but San Diego s defense buckled down and held the Packers to a field goal for a 27-2 lead that set up San Diego s final drive. The Chargers got the ball back one last time with 2:37 remaining and Rivers drove the team 77 yards to the Packers three, but the Bolts were unable to punch in the game-tying score and Green Bay escaped with the 27-2 win. Parking is available outside the media center and there is plenty of workspace within. During the season, most Monday press conferences are held in the Media Center, along with conference calls from the opposing teams. The San Diego Chargers have a media-only website, The website contains online credential application forms, the latest press releases, injury information, a link to download the team s Media Guide, as well as links to other related websites. Credential requests must be submitted online from the Sports Director, Sports Editor or Photo Editor. Only media outlets covering ALL pre-season and regular-season games may apply for Season Credentials. Your application does NOT guarantee that you will receive either Season or Game-by-Game Credentials. For most weeks, credential requests are due one week prior to the game. GAMEDAY INFORMATION Game-Day Media Parking Media attending Chargers home games have been assigned reserved areas to park at Qualcomm Stadium. Please refer to the map to your right or on the back of your assigned parking permit. Please remember you must park in your assigned area and display your parking permit at all times. As a reminder, parking is limited and is being provided as a courtesy to working media. Media Entrance All credentialed media must enter at Gate H and are subject to a search procedure. Please be prepared to open all cases and bags for inspection by stadium security personnel. All items will be inspected and tagged for security purposes. Please make sure your bags are identifiable and limit carry-in items to only what is necessary. Remove any security tags from prior games.
