Fast Start to the Season Michigan is 7-1 for the second straight season under head coach Kim Barnes Arico and for just the ninth time in school history. With a win at Xavier, Michigan will be 8-1 for just the sixth time ever and first time since Double-Doubles for DMV Duo Junior Jillian Dunston recorded her first double-double of the season and second of her career when she went for 10 points and 12 rebounds at Georgia Tech (Dec. 1). She joins freshman Kayla Robbins as Wolverines with double-doubles this season after Robbins had 12 points and 11 rebounds against Niagara (Nov. 13). Both players played AAU for the Maryland Lady Terps and are from the same area in Maryland. Not Just Offense Michigan has topped 100 points three times this season and is second in the Big Ten in scoring (86.4 ppg), but the defense has put forth an impressive effort as well. U-M is allowing just 51.5 points per game (10th nationally) on 33.6 percent shooting from the floor and 25.9 percent shooting from three-point range. U-M is the only team in the country to rank in the top 10 of both scoring offense (8th, 86.4 ppg) and defense (10th, 51.5 ppg). Michigan is plus-14.3 on the boards (42.1 rpg to 27.9 rpg), good for second in the conference.
