Brown, who helped lead Harvard to one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history when the Crimson knocked off top-seeded Stanford in the 1998 NCAA Division I first round, is assisted by Kelly Thompson (Springfield 02) and Patrick Brennan (Springfield 70) and is 8-1 during her career against Saint Anselm. JOINING THE CENTURY CLUB: Trisha Brown picked up her 100 th career victory with the November 21 st win over Southern New Hampshire, accomplishing the feat in just 151 games since SECOND TO ONE: The victory over West Texas A&M on November 5 th enabled Trisha Brown to move into second place on Stonehill s career win list with 99 triumphs, as she moved past Kelly Hart s total of 98 wins set from Current Director of Athletics Paula Sullivan posted 478 victories during her 25-year tenure as Stonehill s head coach from 1971 through HEAD COACH MONICA McCARTHY-GALAMAGA: Monica McCarthy-Galamaga is in her fourth season as Head Women s Basketball Coach at Saint Anselm College. McCarthy- Galamaga is 0-6 during her career against Stonehill. THIRTY-SIX IN A ROW, LOOK AT EM GO: The January 11 th win over Merrimack enabled Stonehill to clinch its 36 th straight winning campaign, a streak that dates back to the program s inception in The Skyhawks recorded 25 of those winning seasons during current Director of Athletics Paula Sullivan s tenure as head coach, and former Stonehill mentor Kelly Hart carried that streak to 30 seasons before Trisha Brown took over in DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE, DOUBLE YOUR FUN: Stonehill has reached the double-digit plateau in the victory column for 30 straight seasons following the December 17 th win at Merrimack, as the Skyhawks reached the 10-win mark before the turn of the New Year for the second straight season. THE DEFENSE NEVER RESTS: Stonehill is now 72-2 in its last 74 contests when holding an opponent to 59 or fewer points following last Thursday s win at Southern New Hampshire, as the Skyhawks had won 25 straight such contests dating back to February 2005 against Bentley before the January 17 th setback at AIC. The 74-game streak dates back to February MILESTONE MARK: The November 5 th win over ninth-ranked West Texas A&M was the 675 th triumph in the 36-year history of Stonehill women s basketball, as the Skyhawks have amassed an overall mark of (.722) since the program s varsity inception in 1971.

3 Add Two TREY MAGNIFI QUE : Megan Methven tied the school single-game record for three-pointers with eight treys from behind the arc in the December 13 th win over Bryant, equaling the mark of eight first set by Hall of Famer Michelle Doonan 95 in a win over Saint Anselm during the campaign. In two games against the Bulldogs this season, Methven has netted 13 three-pointers and averaged 24.5 points per game, and she leads the Skyhawks with 69 three-pointers to date, a mark that leads the Northeast-10 in treys per game for a fourth straight week. D-I-S, N-E-Y, C-H-A-M-P (Sung to the tune of the old Mickey Mouse Club show): Stonehill joined North Dakota as the only two schools in the history of the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic to post perfect 3-0 marks during the tournament. THE ALL-TIME VICTORIES LIST: Stonehill ranks 10 th among all NCAA Division II women s basketball programs in both all-time victories and all-time winning percentage. The Skyhawks entered the campaign with 672 wins and a.722 winning percentage. ECC SUCCESS: With the December 20 th win at Dowling, Stonehill sports an all-time mark of 37-5 (.881) against East Coast Conference foes all-time, including a triumph over Concordia back on November 26 th at Merkert Gymnasium as part of the Northeast-10/East Coast Conference Challenge. HITTING THE CENTURY MARK : Stonehill s 108 point effort in the November 26 th win over Concordia marked the second time in a little over a year that the Skyhawks have reached the century mark in a game, the last coming in November 2005 in a triumph over Bentley. Stonehill s 108 points fell one shy of the school single-game record of 109 points set during the campaign at Assumption, and the Skyhawks 59 first half ranks as the second highest mark before intermission. PRESIDENT S CUP RUNNETH OVER: For the first time in school history, Stonehill College has been named as the recipient of the Northeast-10 Conference President s Cup that is awarded annually to the top all-around program in the 15-team league. Stonehill claimed the Cup by the slimmest of margins, edging out two-time Cup winner Bryant University by one point ( ) in the final standings that are calculated based upon each school s regular season finish in the 22 conference sports during the course of the academic year. Bentley College finished third, followed by the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Southern Connecticut State University in fourth and fifth place, respectively. After finishing the academic year in third place in the final President s Cup standings, Stonehill reached the top spot in the conference by claiming regular season championships in the sports of men s basketball, women s tennis and women s lacrosse as well as garnering league tournament crowns in men s cross country, field hockey and women s lacrosse. Additionally, five Skyhawk programs finished second in their respective standings during the year: women s cross country, women s basketball, baseball, men s tennis and men s outdoor track and field. Stonehill earned a record seven NCAA tournament berths last year and advanced to the Division II national semi-finals in both field hockey and men s basketball, while a record 10 studentathletes earned All-America honors in their respective sports. 6 Add Five CHAMPIONS ON THE FIELD, LEADERS IN THE CLASSROOM: For the first time in school history, Stonehill College sits atop the list of the top academic and athletic colleges in the nation in NCAA Division II play according to the National Collegiate Scouting Association s Collegiate Power Rankings, which combine statistics from three major academic and athletic sources. The NCSA s power rankings are calculated by averaging the U.S. News & World Report rankings, the United States Sports Academy s Directors Cup rank and the student-athlete graduation rank of each Division II institution in the country. Stonehill ranked first in the U.S. News & World Report rankings and finished 27 th in both the final Division II Director s Cup rankings as well as Division II studentathlete graduation rate. Those statistics gave Stonehill an NCSA power rating of to outdistance the University of California-San Diego s rank score of 33.00, as the two schools traded spots in the NCSA s rankings from last year. Stonehill finished 11 th in the overall NCSA Top 50 Power Rankings that includes institutions from all three NCAA divisions, as included in that elite list of schools are Division I powers Duke, Stanford, Princeton and Notre Dame. Stonehill is the only Division II institution to appear in the top 25 of the NCSA Top 50 Power Rankings and is one of four Northeast- 10 Conference institutions to appear in the Division II top 10, as LeMoyne (5 th ), Assumption (6 th ) and Saint Anselm (9 th ) also made the list. The academic year was undoubtedly the most successful campaign in the history of Stonehill Athletics, as the College won the Northeast-10 Conference President s Cup as the top athletic institution in the league. A record seven Skyhawk squads earned NCAA tournament berths in their respective sports, including Division II Final Four appearances by the field hockey and men s basketball teams, while 10 individuals earned All-America accolades in their respective sports. Stonehill compiled an overall mark of (.638) in team competition during the course of the academic year. Along with success on the field came continued success in the classroom. A total of 26 student-athletes earned Northeast-10 Academic All- Conference honors in their respective sports, while nine others were named to their respective sport coaches association All-Academic squads. Nearly 45 percent of all Stonehill student-athletes were named to the Athletic Director s Honor Roll in achieving a 3.20 grade point average or higher for both the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 semesters, and 45 individuals earned spots on the Northeast-10 Commissioner s Honor Roll for academic excellence. Additionally, women s lacrosse standout Erin Acone 06 became the first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America in school history and the fifth individual to receive the prestigious accolade. WHO S NEXT: Stonehill will host a first round game as part of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Sunday, February 25 th at Merkert Gymnasium against an opponent to be determined beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST. Complete playoff pairings will be announced by the league office later this evening. For More Information on Skyhawk Basketball, log-on to
