Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. EST. The Jaguars will venture outside their own conference for the first time as they opened the first half of the season with eight consecutive games against AFC opponents. The Jaguars dropped to 3-5 with a loss at Cincinnati last week. The Jaguars battled back from an 18-point deficit after three quarters but failed to convert a two-point conversion in the final minute. The Jaguars are the only team in the NFL to have every game this season decided by seven points or less with their five losses coming by an average of 4.8 points. I think what's most important right now is how we respond to this tough situation, Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said. First and foremost, we'll stick together. The only way you have a chance is to stick together. There's not going to be anybody to come save us. There's no savior out there to help us that's going to join this football team and make it different. We're going to have to change the circumstances ourselves. So I think first and foremost we've got to stick together. The Jaguars are 2-2 on the road in 2008 with wins at Indianapolis and Denver. The Jaguars own a 14-6 mark against the NFC under Del Rio since 2003 with wins in five of the last six games. Quarterback David Garrard owns a 6-0 record as a starter against NFC opponents. The Jaguars finished 3-1 against the NFC in four consecutive seasons. This is the fourth meeting between the Jaguars and Lions with the Jaguars leading the series, 2-1. The Jaguars have played eight different opponents only three times in their 14-year history with Arizona and St. Louis being the fewest at two games. This is the first meeting between the teams at Ford Field and first game in Detroit since the Jaguars inaugural season in The Jaguars have won two consecutive games in the series including a overtime win at home on November 14, Following the Lions game, the Jaguars will play two consecutive home games beginning with an AFC South game against Tennessee on Sunday, November 16 followed by a visit from the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, November 23.
