(8 p.m.). The game will be broadcast on ABC with Chris Fowler (play by play), Kirk Herbstreit (color) and Maria Taylor (sideline reporter) on the call. Joe Zagacki (pxp) and Don Bailey, Jr. (color) are in the 560 WQAM radio booth for their 16th season together, while Josh Darrow will handle the sideline duty on UM's flagship station. Jose Chamby Campos (pxp) and Joe Martinez (color) are broadcasting on 990AM ESPN Deportes. THE SERIES Miami leads the all-time series with Clemson, 6-4, and have won both games vs. the Tigers outside the state of Florida (both in Clemson, S.C.). Since Miami joined the ACC prior to the 2004 season, the Hurricanes and Tigers have met five times and Clemson has a 3-2 lead in those games. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Tigers won, 58-0, at Hard Rock Stadium in The series is tied, 3-3, in games played in Miami. THE HURRICANES Miami is looking for its first-ever ACC title in the program's first trip as Coastal Division representatives to the ACC season finale in Charlotte, N.C. The Hurricanes' seven wins in conference play were their most since joining the ACC in 2004; Miami's previous best was six wins, in 2005 (6-2). Miami checked in at No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released on Nov. 28, its fourth straight week in the CFP top 10 rankings. Last time out on Nov. 24, the Hurricanes picked up their first loss of the season with a defeat at the hands of Pittsburgh at Heinz Field. With a win over Virginia on Nov. 18, Miami secured its first 10-win season since 2003 and the first 10-0 start to a season since THE OPPONENT The defending national champion Clemson Tigers are under the direction of ninth-year head coach Dabo Swinney, whose team finished the regular season with an 11-1 overall record and a 7-1 mark in ACC play. Clemson is making its fifth all-time appearance in the ACC title game (3-1). The Tigers offense is led by RB Travis Etienne (720 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns) and WR Deon Cain (49 receptions, 620 yards, five touchdowns). Clemson's defense is led by LB Dorian O'Daniel (80 tackles), DL Clelin Ferrell (16 TFLs, 8.5 sacks) and DL Austin Bryant (14.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks). THE COACH Miami is in its second season under the direction of head coach Mark Richt; in his first season at, the Hurricanes finished with a 9-4 record and won their first bowl game since His 10-0 start to the 2017 season was his best as head coach; his previous best was 8-0 at Georgia in Richt, who grew up in nearby Boca Raton, Fla., played quarterback as a student-athlete at Miami and is a 1982 graduate of the university, was named the 24th head coach in the history of the Hurricanes football program on Dec. 4, He is 19-5 in his first 24 games at The U. During his career at Georgia, Mark Richt led his teams to a 3-1 record in four matchups against Clemson. He has not coached against CU at Miami. Richt's teams played CU at home in 2002 (31-28 win), on the road in 2003 (30-0 win), home in 2013 (35-38 loss) and away in 2014 (45-21 win). QUICK HITS UM PLAYING IN FIRST ACC TITLE GAME No. 7 Miami will be making its first ACC Championship Game appearance in program history vs. No. 1 Clemson on Dec. 2. Miami finished the regular season with a 10-1 record - its first 10-win season since and a 7-1 record in ACC play. Miami's seven wins in ACC play are its most ever; its previous best was six ('05). During his 15-year head coaching career at Georgia, Mark Richt led the Bulldogs to the SEC Championship Game in five seasons, compiling a 2-3 record. The Hurricanes carry a 6-4 all-time lead in the head-to-head series with Clemson. For the seventh straight week, UM was ranked in the top 10 of both polls; Miami was No. 7 in both the AP and Coaches polls. MIAMI FALLS TO PITT IN FINALE, The Miami Hurricanes dropped their first decision of the 2017 season in their regular season finale, falling at Pittsburgh, at Heinz Field on Fri., Nov. 24. The loss was Miami's first since an October 29, 2016 defeat at Notre Dame; 391 days elapsed before the loss to the Panthers, which snapped the longest active winning streak in FBS at 15 games. QB Malik Rosier tied Vincent Testaverde's Miami "touchdowns responsible for" record at 30. He threw for two touchdowns in the defeat. DB Sheldrick Redwine posted a careerbest 12 tackles and had one forced fumble. DB Jaquan Johnson had one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. DEFENSE DOMINATING UNDER DIAZ Miami's defense is delivering once again under the direction of second-year defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. UM entered championship weekend ranked among the nation's leaders in a number of key categories, including first in team sacks (3.55 per game), second in tackles for loss (8.6), first in turnover margin (+1.55) and third in turnovers gained (29) In one of the most important metrics for measuring a college football defense in opponent yards per play - UM checked in at No. 10 nationwide (4.5 yards per play) for the second-best mark in the ACC. The Hurricanes are one of just 10 teams in the country whose opponents average 4.5 yards per play or fewer.

Miami checked in at No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released on Nov. 28, marking its fourth straight week inside the CFP top 10. DEFENSE DAZZLING UNDER DIAZ, A BROYLES AWARD SEMIFINALIST Miami defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has directed the' defense into one of the more dominant units once again, and was named a Broyles Award semifinalist for the nation's top assistant coach. Miami's defense ranks 10th nationally in opponent yards per play (4.5), one of the most important metrics when measuring a college football defense in In 2016, UM ranked No. 16 in OYPP (4.7). The Hurricanes lead the nation in team sacks (3.55) and rank second in the nation in team tackles for loss (8.6). TEN HURRICANES EARN ALL-ACC RECOGNITION; BADGLEY FIRST TEAM Headlined by senior K Michael Badgley's placement on the All-ACC First Team, 10 Miami Hurricanes earned all-conference recognition in the league's year-end voting selection by coaches and media. Miami's 10 selections were second-most in the ACC, trailing only Atlantic champion Clemson (13). Badgley, who became Miami's all-time leader in field goals made earlier this season, earned All-ACC recognition for the third time; he was an All-ACC Third Team selection by coaches in 2015 & TE Christopher Herndon IV, RB Travis Homer, DT RJ McIntosh, CB Michael Jackson and S Jaquan Johnson were all named to the All-ACC Second Team. It was the first honor for each of those Canes. LB Shaq Quarterman picked up the second All-ACC honor of his career, earning a second-team spot. Quarterman was named to the All-ACC Third Team by ACC coaches during his 2016 freshman season. WR Braxton Berrios, LT Kc McDermott and DE Trent Harris were all named to the All-ACC Third Team. It was the first honor of each of those Hurricanes' careers, all coming in their senior season. Six more Canes earned All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition, bringing the total to 16 honored. RICHT NAMED ACC COACH OF THE YEAR, LEADS UM TO TOP-10 RANKING On Nov. 28, Mark Richt became the first Miami Hurricanes head coach to win ACC Coach of the Year. Despite a loss to Pitt last time out, UM was ranked in the top 10 of both major polls for the seventh straight week. Miami was ranked No. 7 in the Nov. 26 Associated Press and Coaches polls. 3

4 WEATHERING A STORM ON THE WAY TO THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP UM's season was rocked in the early going by Hurricane Irma, forcing Miami to abruptly change the course of 2017, including the cancellation of one game and its bye week, as well as two reschedulings. Saturday's game against Clemson will mark the 11th straight weekend UM will play a football game. The Hurricanes' Sept. 9 game at Arkansas State was cancelled, and a Sept. 16 game at Florida State was postponed and rescheduled for Oct. 7, when both teams shared a mutual bye week. Miami's scheduled Oct. 12 game against Georgia Tech on a Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium was pushed back two days to Oct. 14 due to the long Hurricane Irma-induced layoff. The Hurricanes were dismissed on Sept. 7, regathered as a team at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando on Sept. 15 and returned to Miami for a Sept. 23 game against Toledo. ROSIER TIES TESTAVERDE'S SINGLE-SEASON UM TOUCHDOWN RECORD After throwing for two touchdowns last time out against Pittsburgh (Nov. 24), QB Malik Rosier has accounted for 30 total touchdowns in tying Vinny Testaverde's single-season record (1986). Rosier will be making the 13th start of his career and sixth start away from home when he lines up vs. Clemson on Dec. 2. As a starting QB, Rosier has career records of 7-0 at home and 4-1 on the road. With 25 touchdown passes this year, the Mobile, Ala., native is tied with Bernie Kosar (1984) and Ken Dorsey (2000) for sixth-most at UM. The single-season Miami record is 29 (Steve Walsh, 1988). Rosier is third in the ACC in passing efficiency (138.6) with 25 passing TDs and nine interceptions. Rosier ranks fifth in the ACC in passing yards per game (254.4) and fourth in total offense (291.5). In five career starts away from home, Rosier has thrown for 1,339 yards on 85-of-171 passing for 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. He is averaging yards passing per game on the road. Rosier's only start prior to 2017 came on Oct. 31, 2015, when he played in place of injured Brad Kaaya in a win at Duke. Rosier finished 20-for-29 for 272 yards with two touchdowns in the victory. The Mobile, Ala., native was announced as Miami s starting QB by head coach Mark Richt on Aug. 22 during fall camp. He won a four-man race for the job; Evan Shirreffs was named the team's back-up. Rosier redshirted the 2014 football season and served as back-up in 2015 and He was on the 2015 UM baseball team that went to the College World Series, though he did not travel to the CWS. WHO S ROCKING THE TURNOVER CHAIN? The now famous University of Miami turnover chain made its debut Sept. 2 vs. Bethune-Cookman, when sophomore DB Malek Young was rewarded for an interception with an oversized sparkling U chain on the sidelines at Hard Rock Stadium. 15 different players have worn "the chain." Miami has forced 21 turnovers over the past six games, more than 93 FBS teams have all season. Beginning with a game against Syracuse on Oct. 21, Miami forced four turnovers in four straight games - the first time time an FBS team has done it vs. four Power-5 opponents since at least RICHT'S ROAD WARRIORS Since becoming head coach, Mark Richt has led Miami to a 8-3 record in games played outside of Hard Rock Stadium, including UM's first bowl win since 2006 in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl. The Hurricanes finished 2017 with a 3-1 road record; its first scheduled road game, at Arkansas State on Sept. 9, was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. Miami is 1-0 in neutral site games under Richt. Miami opened ACC play on the road for the eighth time in the past nine seasons (at Duke, Sept. 29) and with back-to-back ACC road games for the fourth time ever and first time since JAQUAN ONE OF JUST FOUR D PLAYERS TABBED AS POY SEMIFINALISTS Junior DB Jaquan Johnson has been one of the nation's top defensive backs this year, and was one of just four defensive players named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year on Nov 15. Johnson was named ACC Defensive of the Back three weeks in a row (Nov. 6, Nov. 13, Nov. 20), becoming the first Hurricane to ever be honored by the ACC in three consecutive weeks. Miami's 29 gained turnovers are the third-most nationally and its 17 interceptions are seventh-most. UM, who ranks first in the ACC in turnover margin & turnovers gained, forced just 19 turnovers in DB Trajan Bandy's pick-six vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 11 was Miami's first defensive score of the season and the first interception returned for a TD by a Hurricane since Tyriq McCord vs. Cincinnati in DB Jaquan Johnson followed up Bandy's pick-six with his own against Virginia (Nov. 18). A week after matching Syracuse QB Eric Dungey's entire season interception total in a single game (four), Miami had three more interceptions on Oct. 28 in a win over North Carolina. BRAXTON BALLING IN FINAL SEASON AT THE U - ON THE FIELD & OFF Senior WR Braxton Berrios served as Miami s top offensive threat during the regular season. He leads all Hurricanes pass catchers with 45 catches, 583 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Berrios' stat line in 2017 either equals or exceeds his combined stat line from his first three seasons, when he totaled 45 catches, 496 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns in 36 games. Berrios was named a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, considered the "Academic Heisman," in early November. He holds a 3.96 GPA as a double major in entrepreneurship and finance at The U. Last time out vs. Pittsburgh (Nov. 24), Berrios led Miami with four catches, 61 yards and one TD. Berrios posted his first and only career 100-yard receiving game vs. Toledo on Sept. 23. He hauled in five passes, including a career-long 55-yard reception, for 105 yards with one receiving score. The Raleigh, N.C., native was a CBS Sports Midseason All-American as an "all-purpose player." THE NATION'S LONGEST ACTIVE WINNING STREAK COMES TO AN END The Miami Hurricanes had won 15 games in a row dating back to 2016 before falling to Pittsburgh, 14-24, on the road on Nov. 24. The loss snapped what was the longest winning streak in FBS. UM had not lost since a defeat at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 29, The 15- game winning streak was the fourth-longest in ACC history and longest in Mark Richt's career. Miami's average margin of victory during its 15-game winning streak was an impressive 16.9 points. Since taking over, Mark Richt has guided Miami to a 19-5 record and Miami s 19 wins have come by an average of 20.9 points. The five losses have come by an average of just 8.4 points. CLOSING IT OUT: MIAMI IMPRESSING IN SECOND HALVES UNDER RICHT Since Mark Richt's arrival as head coach, Miami has outscored its opponents in the second half in 19 of 24 games. A streak of 11 straight games ended in a win over Syracuse on Oct. 21 (14-16). Miami has a second-half point differential of +228 in 24 games under Richt, good for an average of +9.5 points in second halves. UM has lost the second-half battle just four times under Richt. Miami's only four games on the wrong end of second-half scoring came vs. Florida State (-11) and at Virginia Tech (-14) in 2016, and against Syracuse (-2) and on the road at Pitt (-7) in The Hurricanes have outscored opponents in the second half in 24 games under Richt, and have held an opponent to 10 points or fewer in the second half in 17 of 24 games. "BADG-O-MATIC" THE TOP KICKER IN MIAMI FOOTBALL HISTORY With two field goals against Notre Dame on Nov. 11, K Michael Badgley made history by becoming UM's all-time leader in field goals made with 74. He hit his 75th field goal against Virginia (Nov. 18). Badgley, who was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award, moved past Hurricane great Carlos Huerta ( ), who had 73 in his career. Badgley hit a UM-record 25 field goals in Badgley 392 career points are the second-most in UM history; Huerta (397) owns the UM record. The New Jersey native, who was named to the All-ACC First Team for the first time in his career, has enjoyed a strong final season at Miami, going 15-for-18 on field goals and 42-for-43 on PATs. Badgley's 83.3 field goal percentage ranks 24th nationally and is the third-best mark in the ACC. Badgley connected on a game-winning field goal with four seconds remaining against Georgia Tech (Oct. 14), his fourth of the game. He has scored 87 points for Miami this season. "TOOLBOX TRENT" MAKING PLAYS IN FINAL SEASON AT THE U Senior DL Trent Harris has been among Miami's top defensive playmakers in his final season at UM, and was recognized for his standout play by earning a spot on the All-ACC Third Team. Harris, who had 6.5 career sacks entering 2017, has three multi-sack games this season alone and ranks first on the team in sacks with 8.5. His 10.5 tackles for loss is tied for second on the Hurricanes. For his career, Harris has 25.0 tackles for loss & 15.0 sacks. Both of his 2017 marks are career bests. 5

6 HURRICANES DROP TO #7 IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKINGS After a loss at Pitt, UM fell to No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings on Nov. 28. The Hurricanes earned their highest ever position in the College Football Playoff rankings relased on Nov. 21, jumping one spot from No. 3 to No. 2; it was their second straight week in the "top four." After a 41-8 win over Notre Dame on Nov. 11, UM moved up four spots in the playoff rankings released on Nov. 14, jumping from No. 7 into their first position ever inside the "top four" at No. 3. Miami's four-spot leap matched the biggest jump by any team into the top four since the CFP's inception in 2014, matching Alabama's four-spot jump in 2014 and Oklahoma's similar leap in Miami debuted at No. 10 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings of 2017 released on Oct. 31 HERNDON'S SENIOR CAMPAIGN COMES TO AN END WITH INJURY Miami was expecting a big year from senior tight end Christopher Herndon IV and he delivered a dominant campaign, earning second-team All-ACC recognition in his final season at The U. Herndon, who was one of eight semifinalists for the Mackey Award honoring the nation's top tight eend, saw his season ended with a left knee injury suffered against Pittsburgh on Nov. 24. Herndon set career marks in catches (40), receiving yards (477) and receiving touchdowns (four) in 11 games, besting his previous highs set as a junior in 2016 (28 catches, 334 yards, two touchdowns). Herndon recorded career-high totals of 10 catches and 96 yards with one TD vs. Syracuse on Oct. 21. The Georgia native, who started all 11 games this year, ranks second on the team with 40 receptions for 477 yards. He was named ACC Receiver of the Week on Oct. 23 for his performance vs. Syracuse. In 43 career games, Herndon made 26 career starts and totaled 86 receptions, 1,048 yards and seven touchdowns. He started 12 of 13 games in 2016, when he set career marks in every category. Herndon's 2016 tight end partner, David Njoku, was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Njoku has 24 catches for 258 receiving yards with three TDs this season. Njoku (2017) became the fifth Miami tight end drafted in the first round since 2000, joining Bubba Franks (2000), Jeremy Shockey (2002), Kellen Winslow (2004) and Greg Olsen (2007). THE QUARTERBACK WHISPERER Under the watchful eye of head coach and quarterback guru Mark Richt, play at the QB position was instrumental during Miami's 15-game winning streak - the fourth-longest in ACC history. Miami's quarterbacks threw for 37 touchdowns compared to just 10 interceptions over the 15-game winning streak and compiled a total of 4,184 passing yards - an average of yards per game. In 24 games since taking over as head coach at The U, Richt has helped his quarterbacks compile a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 52:16 and 6,387 passing yards - an average of per game. The West Palm Beach native is just 139 yards shy of reaching the 1,000-yard mark this season. Homer delivered a dominant 170-yard rushing game in the first start of his career vs. Georgia Tech (Oct. 14) - no back has had more rushing yards in his first UM start since at least The Palm Beach native became the eighth Miami tailback to have recorded a 100-yard game in his first career start since 2000, and the fourth to do it in an Atlantic Coast Conference game. 7 DEFENSIVE LINE PLAYING IT "KOOL" UNDER ONE OF NATION'S BEST Assistant head coach and defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski, widely regarded as one of the best line coaches in America, has made an immediate impact in his first two seasons at Miami. UM ranks first in in the nation in team sacks (3.55) and second in tackles for loss per game (8.6). With at least two games left, Miami's 95 tackles for loss are already its ninth-most since In a win over Virginia on Nov. 18, the Hurricanes tied a season high with 11 tackles for loss and had its second-most sacks (five) of the year. Senior DL Trent Harris had 2.5 TFLs and two sacks. Miami finished the 2016 season fifth in the nation in tackles for loss per game (8.3) and ranked 22nd in sacks per game (2.85). The Hurricanes finished 2016 with 108 tackles for loss and 38 sacks. Facing what many considered the best offensive lines in the nation, Miami totaled nine tackles for loss (29 yards) and five sacks against Notre Dame on Nov. 11. Senior DL Trent Harris had two sacks. OFFENSIVE LINE NAMED TO JOE MOORE AWARD HONOR ROLL Miami s offensive line was one of 22 named to the Joe Moore Award Honor Roll on Oct. 9, honoring the men up front who displays qualities of the best offensive lines in the country. The Hurricanes' offensive line has consisted of four starters who have started every game - LT Kc McDermott, LG Trevor Darling, C Tyler Gauthier and RT Tyree St. Louis. HOMER 139 YARDS SHY OF TOPPING 1,000 RUSHING YARDS IN 2017 Despite not making his first start until the fifth game of the season, RB Travis Homer is on the verge of reaching the 1,000-yard rushing plateau in his first season as Hurricanes' starting running back. After rushing for 12 yards last time out against Pittsburgh, Homer has 861 yards on 137 carries. He ranks sixth in the ACC in rushing yards per game (78.3) but did not start the first four games of If Homer rushes for 1,000, Miami will have four straight seasons with a 1,000-yard rusher for the first time ever; Duke Johnson (2014), Joe Yearby (2015) and Mark Walton (2016) reached 1,000. Homer would become just the 11th back in Miami history to total 1,000 yards if he eclipses the mark. McINTOSH, NORTON AMONG TOP DEFENSIVE TACKLE TANDEMS Miami's defense ranks first nationally in team sacks and second nationally in team tackles for loss, and a big part of that equation is junior defensive linemen RJ McIntosh and Kendrick Norton. McIntosh was named to the All-ACC Second Team while Norton was an Honorable Mention pick. McIntosh has started all 11 games for Miami and has totaled an impressive 11.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, six pass breakups and one fumble recovery. His 48 tackles are fifth-most on the defense. Norton, who has started 10 of 11 games, has 22 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. ALMOST PERFECT 10 Teams rarely beat Miami when scoring 10-or-fewer points. The Hurricanes are in their last 166 games when holding opponents to 10 points-or-fewer, after winning 41-8 vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 11, 2017 and vs. Virginia Tech on Nov. 4, That run goes back to Oct. 1, a season that began with Miami holding its first two opponents to exactly 10 points apiece and still lost both of those games. The only 10 points allowed-or-fewer losses: Nov. 8, 2003 to Tennessee (10-6) & Sept. 5, 2005 to Florida State (10-7). WELCOME BACK, AHMMON After missing the first two games of 2017 with a hamstring injury suffered during training camp, WR Ahmmon Richards returned vs. Duke on Sept. 29, starting and totaling 106 receiving yards. It was the fifth career 100-yard receiving game for Richards, who added a 49-yard TD in the win. Richards ranks third in catches (24), receiving yards (439) and touchdown catches (3) this year. Richards started and totaled four catches for 51 yards and a touchdown in a win vs Virginia (Nov. 18). DIAZ, DEFENSE DELIVER DOMINANT DISPLAY VS. YELLOW JACKETS Georgia Tech entered the Sat., Oct. 14 matchup at Hard Rock Stadium ranked sixth nationwide in total defense (260 yards per game) and 20th nationwide in total offense (479.3 yards per game). The Hurricanes outgained the Yellow Jackets in the win, marking just the ninth time Georgia Tech has been outgained by 200 or more yards since the 2004 season. 9 MANY MEMBERS OF #SQUAD17 MAKING AN EARLY IMPACT AT THE U The University of Miami football team announced its 2017 signing class on Feb. 1, and the group of 24 student-athletes was ranked the 12th-best class nationwide by ESPN and 247Sports. The signing class featured 10 early enrollees Robert Burns, Amari Carter, DeeJay Dallas, Navaughn Donaldson, Zach Dykstra, Jonathan Garvin, Bradley Jennings, Jr., Brian Polendey, Waynmon Steed and Cade Weldon and also featured 10 ESPN300 recruits and 16 players from FL. A number of Hurricanes have made an immediate impact in their first seasons at The U; Donaldson has served as starting right guard, Garvin has two strip-sacks on defense, Carter has been a special teams captain, while WRs Jeff Thomas and Mike Harley as well as OL Corey Gaynor have all started games. DB Trajan Bandy has started and recorded a touchdown against Notre Dame. WALTON AMONG TOP BACKS IN MIAMI S STORIED HISTORY AT RB With 1,995 career rush yards, Walton now sits in 11th place all-time at Miami; he entered the season No. 21 in all-time rush yards. His eight 100-yard rush games are tied for eighth-most. With 25 yards against Florida State in his final game of 2017, Walton moved from No. 12 to No. 11 in the record books, leapfrogging UM legend Frank Gore ( ), who totaled 1,975 career yards. Walton opened 2017 with a bang, recording 148 yards and two rushing touchdowns in Week 1. He followed that up with the seventh 200-yard rushing game ever in Week 2 vs. Toledo. Walton now has 28 career TDs in 30 career games and is tied for fifth in rushing TDs at Miami (26). In 2016, Walton became just the 10th running back in Miami history to rush for over 1,000 yards. In honor of their mother Carol, Jeffrey Soffer and Carol s other children made a $14 million commitment towards the Carol Soffer Football Indoor Practice Facility. Head coach Mark Richt pledged $1 million towards the facility and football alumnus and linebacker great Jon Beason was among those alumni to give to the project. Beason s gift was $250,000. Miami had its groundbreaking ceremony for the $34 million facility in May The 81,800-square-foot facility will feature two field-turf fields one 80 yards long and an additional 40-yard field directly connecting to the Squillante Strength and Conditioning Center. 12 MARK RICHT HEAD COACH SECOND SEASON AT MIAMI (17TH OVERALL) (.745) Hurricane alumnus Mark Richt was named the 24th head football coach at The University of Miami on Dec. 4, 2015, by Director of Athletics Blake James. Richt s 2016 season in Coral Gables was one to remember as he helped guide Miami to its first bowl victory in 10 years, as the Hurricanes captured the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl, defeating nationally-ranked West Virginia Miami had 10 players earned ACSMA All-ACC honors in 2016, while quarterback Brad Kaaya became Miami s all-time passing yards leader under his tutelage. Freshman wide receiver Ahmmon Richards broke the 31-year-old freshman receiving record at Miami originally set by Michael Irvin, while sophomore running back Mark Walton became the 11th 1,000-yard rusher in program history. In addition, four Hurricanes earned freshman All-America honors under Richt s watchful eye. At the conclusion of the regular season, Miami was ranked No. 20 nationally in total defense (up from No. 69 a season ago), No. 9 in yards allowed per play (No. 86 in 2015), No. 12 in scoring defense (No. 77 in 2015), No. 5 in tackles for loss (No. 105 in 2015) No. 22 in offensive yards per play (No. 48 in 2015), No. 37 in offensive touchdowns (NO. 80 in 2015), No. 37 in scoring offense (No. 71 in 2015) and No. 22 in team sacks (No. 70 in 2015). Richt, born in Omaha, Neb., and raised in Boca Raton, Fla., returned to his alma mater after leading the University of Georgia football program for the previous 15 years. He compiled a overall record and an mark in Southeastern Conference play, won two SEC championships, six SEC East titles and nine bowl games and finished the season in the Associated Press Top-10 rankings seven times. Richt s.736 winning percentage ranks fifth-best among active FBS head coaches. Richt is one of only seven head coaches in SEC history to record four straight 10- win seasons ( ). During his tenure on the sidelines in Athens, 77 of Richt s players were selected in the NFL Draft over the last 14 years, including eight chosen in the 2002 and 2013 NFL Drafts the most Georgia players ever selected in a single year. Off the field, Richt places a strong emphasis on academics and 292 Georgia players earned their degrees during his tenure. Richt was the 2013 recipient of the Stallings Award given for commitment to humanitarian and community service efforts, and in 2010, he was named to the American Football Coaches Association Board of Trustees. Before his arrival at Georgia, Richt spent seven seasons as the offensive coordinator at Florida State. In his time in Tallahassee, the Seminoles finished in the nation s top five in scoring offense on five occasions, top 12 in total offense five times and top 12 in passing offense five times. The 2000 team, which played in the National Championship game against Oklahoma, finished the regular season ranked first nationally in total offense (549.0 ypg), first in passing offense (384.0 ypg), and third in scoring offense (42.4 ppg). Richt sent six FSU quarterbacks into the NFL between 1987 and In 2000, Richt coached Chris Weinke to the Heisman Trophy, and in 1991, he coached Casey Weldon to the runner-up for the Heisman. Brad Johnson (now Richt s brotherin-law), was a Pro Bowl selection for Washington in 2000 and led the Tampa Bay Bucs to the Super Bowl title in Other Richt pro protégés include Danny Kanell (New York Giants), Danny McManus (Kansas City Chiefs) and Peter Tom Willis (Chicago Bears).
