Ticket s Please At the start of the show, Heidi asked everyone for their tickets. Each ticket was $5. How many students are in your grade? How would you go about finding that out? How much would it cost for the whole grade?

Hoop and Hat During the show, Heidi did tricks with a hoop and a hat. Draw the Top View of the Hat Draw the Top View of the Hoop Draw the Side View of the Hat Draw the Side View of the Hoop

Time Check During the show, Heidi checked the time on her clock. Her clock was broken up into 12 sections. How many minutes is each section worth? How many sections are required for 45 minutes? Colour in 45 minutes of the clock. What fraction of the circle is coloured in? Is there another way to write that fraction?

Speeding Whip During the show, Heidi cracked a whip, which went faster than the speed of sound. - In pairs, one person has a basketball, and the other has this sheet of paper. - Both of you need to take 100 steps away from one another. - Turn around and face each other. - The person with the basketball bounces the ball. Do you see and hear the ball at the same time? What do you notice? When you see a ball, that is the speed of light. When you hear the ball, that is the speed of sound. Which is quicker, the speed of light or the speed of sound? Do some Internet research, and find the speed of sound in km/h: km/h What is the speed limit on your street? km/h How many times faster is the speed of sound than the speed limit in your street?

Dice Rolls and Hoops During the show, Heidi rolled dice to work out how many hoops to do tricks with. Roll 1 dice 100 times. Record your results in the table. Side Tally When you roll 1 dice, are the equally likely? When you roll 2 dice, are the equally likely? Total Roll 2 dice 100 times. Add together the two numbers. Record your results in the table. Sum Tally Total

Gigantic Hoop During the show, Heidi used lots of regular sized hoops, and one gigantic hoop. Using a tape measure or ruler, measure the diameter of the hoop. Don t forget to write units, like m, cm, or mm. Diameter = Using a flexible tape measure, or a piece of string and a ruler, measure the circumference of the circles. Don t forget to write units, like m, cm, or mm. Circumference = Find a second hoop which is a different size. Using a tape measure or ruler, measure the diameter of the hoop. 7 How Many Kids in a Cube? During the show, Heidi attempted to see how many students could fit into a cube. How many cubic-centimetre blocks do you need to make a length of 1 metre? How many cubic-centimetre blocks do you need to make a area of 1 square metre? How many cubic-centimetre blocks do you need to make a volume of 1 cubic metre?

Bermuda Triangle One way to add two numbers together to make 13 is to add = 13. Can you think of another way? Can you think of more ways to add two numbers together to make 13? How many can you find? One way to add three numbers together to make 13 is to add = 13. Can you think of another way? Can you think of more ways to add three numbers together to make 13? How many can you find? One way to add four numbers together to make 13 is to add = 13. Can you think of another way? Can you think of more ways to add four numbers together to make 13? 9 HPS: Hoop Positioning System With your partner, work out a way to label your grid. You might want to use letters and numbers. Then, without your partner seeing, colour in some of the circles. Then, without your partner seeing, describe to your partner which circles you coloured in. Check to see if both of your pictures match. Your Pattern Your Friend s Pattern

Glow Hoops At the end of the show, Heidi used Glow Hoops. Draw a line of symmetry on this circle. Can you draw another line of symmetry? How many lines of symmetry can you draw? Draw a pattern of circles that is symmetrical. You must use at least 6 circles.
