2 RULES & REGULATIONS CUT OFF DATE & AGE CATEGORIES The age cut-off date for all age groups is 1 st January CIMB Rising Stars National Junior Circuit (RSNJC) - Boys & Girls: U9, U11 & U13 CIMB National Junior Circuit (NJC) - Boys and Girls: U15, U17 & U19 FORMAT AND SCORING SYSTEM i. The tournament is based on a circuit format ii. 11 points - PAR (Point A Rally) iii. Best of five games format for: 1st Round Games CIMB RSNJC - Boys and Girls: U9 - Top 8; U11 - Top 8; U13 - Top 16 CIMB NJC: Top 16 iv. All other placing matches shall be a best of three games format. v. Entries are limited to 64 Draws vi. All Rounds are played Top Down except for the Final Round which shall be played Bottom Up vii. Age categories will be played in ascending order: U9, U11, U13 U15, U17, U19 GENERAL DETAILS AND ENTRY FORM The general details and entry form for each leg will be sent to all states, 6 weeks before the first scheduled day. DRAW SIZE 1 st & 2 nd Leg The 1 st and 2 nd leg for both circuits are open to players from all SRAM affiliated states. Entries are limited to 64 Draws The top 32 for Rising Stars Circuit and top 16 for National Junior Circuit ranked players of the CIMB Ranking system (1 st Leg + 2 nd Leg) for each age category shall be automatically selected for the Grand Finals of the Circuit. 3 ENTRY PROCEDURES i) All entries must be registered through affiliated state associations (SRAM Affiliates). It is the responsibility of the state association to register via Online Entry System at All players need to register for MYSPIN before submitting entry for the tournament. MYSPIN is not applicable to foreign players. i Closing date for entries is 30 days prior to commencement of the iv) tournament. Late entries shall not be accepted. Within 48 hours of entries being closed SRAM will invite states to fill any remaining vacant slots. v) Players may opt to play in higher age categories but are not allowed to return to their original age category or move to a higher age category in the following legs. vi) SRAM has the authority to determine the age categories for any player. ENTRY FEES FOR FOREIGN& LOCAL PLAYERS i) Foreign players are not eligible to participate in the CIMB RSNJC. i iv) Foreign players are eligible to participate in the CIMB NJC provided that they are normally resident in Malaysia. SRAM may require proof of residence All foreign entries MUST be submitted through the SSRA for the state in which they are resident. Foreign Players Entry Fees: USD100 per player (excluding accommodation) v) Local Players Entry Fees: Sponsored (Free) & Pax account players (RM50.00) vi) v Accommodation with breakfast can be arranged for foreigners at RM180 on a twin sharing basis (subject to change). SRAM has sole discretion to allow a foreign player to participate in the circuit and SRAM s decision shall be final. Page 3 of 9

4 WITHDRAWAL AND BLACKLIST i. The withdrawal deadline is 48 hours after the entries close. A player who appears on the entry list after the withdrawal deadline is deemed to have committed to play the tournament. ii. iii. iv. Any withdrawal that occurs after the withdrawal deadline will be considered a late withdrawal. Players found guilty of late withdrawal offences may be barred from participating in future SRAM sanctioned tournaments, unless the reason for late withdrawal (e.g. medical issues, family emergency etc.) is approved by SRAM. Any player accepted into the main draw who fails to appear for the tournament without notifying SRAM of his/her withdrawal may be barred from participating in other SRAM sanctioned junior tournaments. v. Any appeal has to be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the incident occurring vi. Offending players may be banned up to 6 months from date of offence or the next 3 SRAM sanctioned junior/senior events. ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR ON ACCEPTANCE LISTS If an administrative error is made on a tournament Acceptance List and a player is not included or too many players are accepted into the tournament, the Acceptance List will be corrected at the earliest opportunity in accordance with the criteria for acceptances. SEEDING AND DRAW i) For the 1 st legs of the CJMB RSNJC and NJC Circuits, seeding of players shall be based on the 2018 SRAM National Junior Ranking. The 2018 SRAM National Ranking is based on the results of the following events: (a) Penang (Malaysian) Junior Open 2017 (b) Kuala Lumpur Junior Open 2017 (c) National Junior Championships 2018 i iv) For the 2 nd Legs of the CIMB RSNJC and NJC circuits the cut and paste method will be used. For the Grand Finals (Top 32), seeding shall be based on the 2018 CIMB Junior Ranking (1 st Leg and 2 nd Legs) The Seeding Panel shall consider the following as appropriate: Players who are: Page 4 of 9

5 (a) (b) (c) (d) upgrading from their actual age group Players who have no ranking but with noteworthy past achievements New players with no ranking or results Players who were officially away for overseas events v) All draws shall be done publicly 7 days prior to the commencement of the tournament (if it falls on a weekend, the draw shall be conducted on the Friday of the previous week) at 3.00pm. The draws can be witnessed by anyone interested. vi) If, in the first round any two players from the same state are drawn to compete against, the player with the lower seeding shall swap with the player seeded below him/her CIMB JUNIOR RANKING i) The CIMB Rankings System will be published within 2 weeks of the completion of each leg. i The CIMB Junior Ranking will be used for selection of players for the Grand Finals and for the Overall Champion cash incentives. 7 FUNDING i) RSNJC - SRAM will fund up to a maximum of 3 players per age category and up to a maximum of 4 Officials per state for the 1 st and 2 nd Leg. (The Official to Player Ratio is 1 Official for every 5 players) i iv) NJC - SRAM will fund up to a maximum of 3 players per age category and up to 4 Officials for the 1 st and 2 nd Leg. (The Official to Player Ratio is 1 Official for every 5 players) Players selected by the states to be sponsored under SRAM s quota must be the top 4 ranked in their age group in their state. They must be a registered junior member of the state with a MYSPIN number. All additional players shall be on pax account. v) Outstation players who are not funded by SRAM (PAX account players) are to pay a total fee of RM180 to SRAM inclusive of the entry fee (RM50), internal transport and accommodation only. vi) SRAM will fund all players who qualify and up to 2 Officials per State for the Grand Final (The Official:Player Ratio is 1:5) v SRAM Funding includes transportation, accommodation and meal allowance. Meal Allowance will be given to sponsored players and officials only. Meal Allowance is capped at RM15.00 per player/per coach per day (RM5.00 per meal). The Meal Allowance is paid in proportion to the number of meals required during the tournament. e.g. on the final day, lunch is provided so the only meal allowance payable is RM5 for breakfast on that day. vi ix) 80% of the total Meal Allowance will be given before the tournament begin to each state and balance 20% will be given during the tournament. Transportation claims will be based on bus rates for West Malaysia and airfare with a ceiling of RM for East Malaysia ACCOMODATION i) Participants will be accommodated on quad sharing basis, based on the given quota and SRAM s budget. Pax account officials and parents may book accommodation through SRAM. Room rates depend on the rates offered by the hotel at the time of booking. RULES AND OBLIGATIONS Page 7 of 9

8 i. Attendance at the Launching Press Conference is compulsory for all players and team officials. Absence from this press conference without prior permission from SRAM, may result in disciplinary action against the offending player or official, and any subsidy or allowance provided will be withdrawn. ii. iii. iv. Participants and officials must arrive 15 minutes before the tournament starts for the briefing session. Participants must ensure that they are on time for their matches. It is compulsory for all participants to mark or referee matches when called upon to do so. Failure to do so may result in the player being suspended from competitions. All State Coaches and Managers are responsible for enforcing this. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action against the player and the SSRA. v. Participants must wear the main sponsor s T-Shirt during the press conference and prize giving ceremony. Players who are not properly attired shall not be allowed to receive their medals and prizes. Proper attire means wearing shorts, track bottoms or skirts, the sponsors t-shirt and shoes. Slippers, sandals, etc. are strictly prohibited. vi. This year SRAM wants all participants, officials and spectators to help us to Go Green. One of the biggest forms of pollution in our oceans is plastic and disposable plastic drinking water bottles is one of the most widespread pollutants. So from this year onwards, disposable plastic water bottles are strongly discouraged at all SRAM tournament venues. Please assist us by not bringing disposable plastic bottles into the venue. Instead please bring your own water container. SRAM has made provision for ample hot and cold water dispensers to be available for you at WATER STATIONS throughout the venue. Page 8 of 9
