1 IAPS U13 Girls Hockey Tournament Wednesday 17 October 2018 Bede s Senior School
2 Welcome The sports programme saw over 20,000 children participate in 130 events across 22 different sports. The programme will see 154 events take place across both team and individual sports. To see a full list of the sports events available, visit our website: sport.iaps.uk Welcome to an IAPS girls hockey qualifier. It is exciting to see our tournaments growing year on year. This year there will be ten qualifying rounds in the U11 competition and six qualifying rounds in the U13 competition. The U12 competition will go straight to the finals. After consultation with England Hockey and to ensure consistency across the country, IAPS has created the draws and timings this year for each qualifying round. England Hockey recommend that U11 children should not play more than 90 mins of hockey per day and U12 and U13 children should not play more than 105 mins of hockey per day. This has been reflected in the draws. Also taken into consideration is the possibility of extra time during knockout matches. Approximately 10 minutes has been built into each qualifier to allow for any potential overrun. Whether this is your first time at an IAPS event or you have entered for many years, we hope your team enjoys the tournament. IAPS passionately believes in the importance of sport as part of an all-round education for its pupils. First and foremost, sport is about participation and enjoyment. Good luck! IAPS Sport Merchandise IAPS are delighted to have Shirt Logos as official merchandisers, to sell branded products both online and at events throughout the year. All commission made from merchandise is directly put back into running the sports programme. Merchandise can be bought online at: iapssport.shirtlogos.co.uk
3 Safeguarding IAPS believes that the welfare and wellbeing of all children (young people under the age of 18) and adults at risk attending an IAPS event is of the highest concern. All such persons have the right to safety and protection and any suspicions, concerns or allegations of harm will be taken seriously and will be dealt with swiftly and appropriately. IAPS expects all adults who are engaged with the delivery of sports events to fully comply with safeguarding procedures as laid out in the IAPS Safeguarding policy and procedures, and the KCSiE September 2016 document (these are available on our website: sport. iaps.uk/safeguarding). IAPS expects all coaches present to be DBS checked and have received relevant safeguarding training at their school/club. IAPS expects that all adults attending events have read the IAPS code of conduct, photo policy & anti bullying policy. These are available to read and download from our website here: sport.iaps.uk/ safeguarding. If you have any safeguarding concerns today, please don t hesitate to speak to Fran Hide or Emily Connell or a member of the organising team. Designated Safeguarding Officer Fran Hide Sport Events Manager fh@iaps.uk (Mobile) Deputy Safeguarding Officer Emily Connell Sport Events Coordinator ec@iaps.uk
