8 New Jersey Devils: Media Notes Last Game: Oct. 6 - Devils at Washington 6 New Jersey finished its season-opening four-game road trip with a record of 3--. Washington out shot New Jersey Damon Severson scored g, becoming just the second rookie defenseman in Devils history to do so. He joins Uli Hiemer, who recorded a hat trick on Oct. 3, '84 vs. Pit. At years, 7 days-old, Severson is the youngest Devil with multi-goal game since Scott Gomez scored three on Dec. 6, '99 at the NY Rangers (y, 3d). Severson led the Devils with eight shots on goal in the contest, the fourth-highest shot total by a d man in club history: Bruce Driver,, Feb. 7, '9 at Tor.; Phil Housley, 9, March 9, '96 at Pit.; and Tom Kurvers, 9, Feb. 5, '88 at Van. He tied Yzerman with a in the 3-4 regular-season finale on Apr. 3 vs. Boston. Marcel Dionne is fifth all-time with 73g-,4a-,77pts. Jagr skated in his,475th game on Oct., passing former Devil Doug Gilmour for 9th place all-time. Jagr s 75 career goals are just three behind Mike Gartner (78g) for sixth place all-time.
