Wild in Season Openers: Minnesota has posted a winning mark of all-time in season openers (including a tie in ). The Wild is all-time when opening the season as the home team (including a loss vs. Carolina to start the season in Helsinki, Finland). Minnesota will open the season as the home team against Colorado for the third time. The Wild is versus the Avalanche in season openers, posting 3-2 (10/5/06) and 4-2 (1/19/13) victories. 2. Wild in Home Openers: The Wild has never suffered a regulation loss during a home opener played at Xcel Energy Center, going , including 11 straight victories from Minnesota tied Philadelphia, 3-3, in its first-ever regular season game at Xcel

7 Energy Center (10/11/00) and suffered a 3-2 shootout loss against Los Angeles last season (10/3/13). Minnesota went on home ice this preseason, at home in the 2014 playoffs and in at Xcel Energy Center. 3. The Wild s opening night roster features 11 players under age 25, including five of the team s defensemen: D Jonas Brodin, F Charlie Coyle, D Matt Dumba, D Christian Folin, F Mikael Granlund, F Erik Haula, G Darcy Kuemper, F Nino Niederreiter, D Marco Scandella, D Jared Spurgeon and F Jason Zucker. 4. Jason Pominville led the Wild and ranked T-2nd in the NHL with eight preseason points (3-5=8), including a hat trick in Minnesota s 4-1 victory vs. Pittsburgh (9/29). The winger led Minnesota in goals and points last season (30-30=60) and was one of three Wild players to skate in all 82 games (Cooke, Suter). He became the third Wild player (ninth time) in franchise history to hit the 30-goal mark and the eighth player (15th time) in team history to reach the 60-point plateau. 6. Thomas Vanek will make his Wild debut after signing with Minnesota on July 1. He ranks third in power-play goals (113), eighth in goals (277) and 13th in GWG (45) since entering the NHL in The former Minnesota Gopher has recorded at least 20 goals in each of his nine NHL seasons and at least 25 goals in eight of his nine seasons overall. Per Elias Sports Bureau, Vanek is the most recent NHL player to tally five points in one season opener (2-3=5 1/20/13 vs. PHI). 7. Ryan Suter begins his third season with Minnesota. He led the NHL in TOI/game last season for the second consecutive year with a total of 29:25. It is the highest by a player since (Chris Pronger 29:28). The blue liner skated at least 30 minutes in 37 games last year. He ranks first in the NHL in TOI/game (26:02) and seventh in scoring (34-208=242) amongst NHL defensemen since Ryan s father, Bob Suter, unexpectedly passed away, nine days before training camp (9/9). Mikko Koivu became the all-time leading scorer ( =452) in history last season, as well as, the all-time leader in power-play points (163). He finished the regular season leading the NHL in assists (13) and T-2nd in points (17) since March 18. He led the Wild with 43 assists (T-17th in NHL) and finished third in scoring (11-43=54). Koivu ranks T-1st in the NHL with 15 career game-deciding shootout goals and third with 36 career shootout goals. 9. Head Coach Mike Yeo signed a multi-year contract extension with the Wild on May 31. Named Minnesota s third Head Coach on June 17, 2011, Yeo became the youngest Head Coach in the NHL. Under his leadership, the Wild has posted a winning record of (.552) in three seasons, while leading the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last two seasons after a five-year absence. 10. Western Conference Quarterfinals vs. Colorado Roundup: With a 5-4 overtime victory in Game 7, the Wild became the first team in NHL history to record four score-tying goals in a Game 7 (Elias Sports Bureau). Nino Niederreiter scored two goals, including the winner 5:02 into overtime, and added an assist in Game 7 the fourth-youngest player to ever net a total three points in a Game 7 (Elias). Zach Parise led the Wild with 10 points (3-7=10) against the Avalanche, a career high for points in a series. He set a playoff career high and a Wild playoff single-game record with four points (2-2=4) in Game 6. Parise also set a franchise record for fastest goal to start a playoff game, scoring 49 seconds into Game 6 and tallied the game winner. Before being held pointless in Game 7, he had a career-best six-game playoff point streak. Darcy Kuemper went 3-1 in five starts posting a 2.03 GAA and a.913 SV%. Ilya Bryzgalov went 1-2 in two starts with a 3.72 GAA and a 4.25 GAA. Bryzgalov earned the Game 7 win by stopping the only shot he faced (in overtime) in relief of Kuemper, who left the game with 8:13 left in regulation. Kuemper stopped all 22 shots in Game 3 to become the first Wild goalie to record a playoff shutout. Mikael Granlund earned his first career playoff point by scoring the overtime winner in Game 3, becoming only the fifth NHL player in the last 75 years to score his first career playoff goal in a 1 0 overtime game (Elias). Nathan MacKinnon (2-8=10) and Paul Stastny (5-5=10) led the Avalanche in scoring with 10 points each. Semyon Varlamov posted a 2.78 GAA and a.913 SV% in seven starts. The Wild outshot the Avalanche and outhit Colorado in the series.

8 : Head Coach and Player Bios Head Coach: Mike Yeo Mike Yeo was named the s third Head Coach on June 17, He has led the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last two seasons after a five-year absence. Minnesota has posted a record of (.552) during his three seasons as Head Coach. Yeo, the youngest Head Coach in the NHL, helped lead the Wild s previous primary affiliate, the Houston Aeros, to a record and the Calder Cup Final in his first season as a Head Coach in The Aeros led the Western Conference and ranked third in the AHL with 46 regular season wins after it did not qualify for the playoffs in Yeo served as an Assistant Coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins ( ). During his tenure in Pittsburgh, the Penguins claimed the Atlantic Division title, advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals twice and won the 2009 Stanley Cup championship.
