2 Welcome to the 2013 ADK Classic youth lacrosse tournament! Hundreds of boys and girls from the Capital Region and beyond will be playing lacrosse this weekend and the Adirondack Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse is proud to sponsor this event. We would also like to thank generous partners like Breakaway Lacrosse, Dick s Sporting Goods, Brine and the University at Albany. U.S. Lacrosse is the governing body of the game in this country and our effort to grow the game in this area is a part of that work. We are guided by two simple principles make it safe and make it fun. All the other good things that contribute to the growth of lacrosse in the Capital Region or across the country begin with those principles. The Adirondack Chapter has enjoyed working with dozens of local youth lacrosse organizations to provide opportunities for boys and girls in this area. A major part of that effort has been the establishment of an ADK Youth Council to bring all youth organizations together and raise the level of the game through the cooperation and commitment of so many people. The ADK Classic provides the Youth Council with an event that can bring players, coaches and communities together, inside and outside the lines of the lacrosse field. We are glad that you are here! Adirondack Youth Lacrosse Classic Rules General 1. Games will consist of two 25 minute running-time halves, with a 5 minute halftime. Teams shall be on the field, ready to play at their start times.

4 Adirondack Youth Lacrosse Classic Rules General 1. Games will consist of two 25 minute running-time halves, with a 5 minute halftime. Teams shall be on the field, ready to play at their start times. Games start every hour on the hour. All games will start and end simultaneously. 2. There will be no time outs. 3. Scores will not be kept. 4. Proper conduct by coaches, parents and other spectators is expected. Zero tolerance rule strictly enforced. Boys Teams: 1. 7/8 grade division will follow NYS Scholastic Modified rules. Please note that Modified rules require goalies to wear shoulder pads. 2. 5/6 grade division will also follow NYS Modified rules with the exception that body checking is prohibited in this division. 3. 3/4 division will play 7 vs 7 player games. However, on a game by game basis, 3/4 division coaches may agree to play 10 vs 10. Body checking is prohibited in the 3/4 division. 4. Penalties 5/6 & 7/8 divisions will serve penalties. 3/4 division penalties will be assessed via a 5 yard Fast Break situation rather than served penalties. 5. Full equipment is required including mouthpiece. No jewelry. No Hockey Helmets 6. Long Poles permissible for 5/6 and 7/8 divisions. 7. If a team is down by 5 goals, no face off, free clear from faceoff X Girls Teams: 1. Y.E.S. Lacrosse Rules (Youth Education Safety) Level A for 7/8 ( ), and Level B for 5/6 ( ) and 3/4 ( ) unless both coaches agree to play A. 2. Housekeeping: Your assistance in cleaning up your team s sideline after each game is requested. 3. Possession/consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on school grounds. Sportsmanship Please encourage good sportsmanship. Proper sportsmanship is expected by all players, coaches and parents. Anyone not adhering to this policy may be asked to leave the field and/or site. Weather In the interest of ensuring participant safety and the appropriate use of the UAlbany fields and facilities, the Adirondack Chapter of US Lacrosse reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or shorten games due to inclement weather, especially lightning. If lighting is detected, a horn will sound three short blasts to indicate the need for all participants to evacuate the playing fields and return to their vehicles for approximately 30 minutes. Once the storm clears, five short horn blasts will denote 15 minutes until resumption of play. If the evacuation occurred during the first half of a game, the teams will return to play the second half of the game. If the evacuation occurs during the second half of a game, that game will be terminated and the next round of games will be played when play resumes.

Syracuse lacrosse legend, and MLL and Team USA star Mike Powell will be in attendance on Saturday and will be putting on clinics at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM in the vendor area. Mike will be available for autographs and will be handing out and raffling off various lacrosse items. Mike will be located near the vendor village.
