4 Rodeo Production from A to Z Instructor(s): Laura Scott & Guests Participants will learn about rodeo production. Topics include rodeo planning committee, budgeting, timelines and deadlines, registration and awards, and the ABCs of rodeo. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the rodeo director.

5 Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Instructor(s): Sandy Bidwell Participants will learn how to recruit volunteers for rodeo and other special events and how to keep them coming back year after year.

6 Planning A Rodeo School Instructor(s): Rob Somers Participants in this course will learn what goes into planning a rodeo school and how to implement those plans. Participants will be provided with and utilize forms and handouts that are being used to plan rodeo school is member associations.

7 Royalty Prep School Instructor(s): Andrew Goodman & Guests Participants in the Prep School will learn about preparing for and succeeding in the IGRA Royalty Competition. Through practical exercises, participants will leave understanding the different parts of the IGRA Royalty contest, the criticalness of advanced preparation, and the important tools needed to succeed as royalty.

8 Announcing: Coolest Job at the Rodeo or Longest Day Ever? Instructor(s): Douglas Graff Participants will learn what it takes to be a quality rodeo announcer. Participants will learn the role of the announcer from registration through the last rodeo event. Through hands-on applications, participants will practice announcing, refine their announcing color, and be ready to successfully handle any challenges that may arise.

10 Effective Marketing for Special Events Instructor(s): Bradley Houseton Participants in this course will receive a working blueprint for how to develop and execute an event marketing strategy to contestant and spectator attendance, volunteers, media coverage, and revenue. This course will provide students with general knowledge of how to develop a marketing strategy and effectively execute that strategy with a toolkit that includes: digital marketing, social media, , print, media/pr, etc. Participants will leave this course with an essential marketing toolkit that can be implemented in their own associations to promote events in their community.

11 Fundraising & Sponsorships for Special Events Instructor(s): Bradley Houseton Participants in this course will leave with a working blueprint for how to develop and cultivate sustainable revenue streams through fundraising, inkind donations, sponsorships, ticket sales, concessions, and vendors. Participants will leave this workshop with an effective and applicable understanding of fundraising strategies that can be implemented in their own associations to generate the necessary resources for hosting special events in their communities.

12 Social Media Instructor(s): John Hill Participants in this course will learn about various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition to the nuts and bolts of how these platforms work, participants will learn which applications are best used for various situations and how other organizations use them effectively.

13 Web Design Instructor(s): Frank Harrell Participants in this course will discuss web site requirements, types of sites, and types of development tools. This course is both for the beginner and those who have dabbled in websites before but want to understand what other options available for creating or managing their website. Participants will also learn what makes a site useful and user friendly.

14 Quick and Dirty Website Instructor(s): Frank Harrell Participants in this course will get a website up and running in 30 minutes using software you already know how to use. Participants will use their own word processor programs and FileZilla, a free program used to put your finished pages on the web. Participants will also learn how to regain control of a current website if you have lost your previous webmaster.

15 What s Under The Hood? Instructor(s): Frank Harrell Participants in this course will look behind the scenes at what makes a webpage work. This course will cover the basics of html, style sheets, and a light look at JavaScript, what they are, and where to use them. Participants will learn why a page looks like it does and why that page you built didn t do what you expected it to do.

16 Use Protection Instructor(s): Brian Helander Participants in this course will learn about the trademarking process and related topics.

17 TOPs: Trustee Orientation & Planning Seminar Instructor(s): Guy Puglisi Participants in this course will learn the roles and responsibilities of association trustees and what is expected of them at meetings and rodeos. This course will also serve as a planning session and roadmap for the 2016 rodeo year. This course will also be beneficial to rodeo directors and association board members.

18 Robert s Rules Instructor(s): Benjamin Avant Participants in this course will learn about Robert s Rules of Order and how, when effectively utilized, they can make a positive impact on meetings. Participants will leave with specific strategies that can be implemented immediately.

19 CrewN The Rodeo Instructor(s): Kami Bowles & Barbara Bugg Participants in this course will learn about the vital roles of the chute and arena crews. Participants will learn about each of these groups separately, and understand how they can impact (either positively or negatively) the smooth running of a rodeo.

20 Effective Meetings Instructor(s): Benjamin Avant Participants in this course will learn how to conduct effective meetings. Participants will learn about meeting formats, strategies for improving the flow of meetings, and how to deal with difficult meeting participants.

21 Who s On First? Instructor(s): Ron Trusley Participants in this course will learn the general requirements for IGRA-certified personnel as well as the specific requirements for individual positions. Participants will also learn how to work toward certification, why annual recertification is necessary, and why all certified officials must work together as a team.

22 You re Covered! Instructor(s): Ron Trusley Participants will review all new and changed rules for 2016 especially rodeo rules. Participants will learn how these rule changes impact the jobs of certified personnel.
