1 CONTESTANT ENTRY BOOK PRESIDENT S MESSAGE: The 2014, 45th Anniversary Bishop Mule Days Celebration is a New and Improved Show! Last year we asked for your ideas and suggestions you spoke and we listened. Our 2014 show has new events, earlier consistent start times for morning shows, and a new and improved show schedule. We have eliminated most jackpot fees to make Bishop Mule Days more economical for competitors. It is very important for all competitors to fully read this Premium Book for changes and potential conflicts. Our Show Committee is committed to seeing that all competitors have a successful and fun-filled 2014 Show. Thank you for your continued participation. Also new for 2014 the Show Office will have a Contestant Information section on the bulletin board located between the Show Office and Barn 1. All pertinent information will be posted there by 5pm for the next day s events. Many steps have been taken to avoid changing times for classes: moving the concert to the Chas. Brown Auditorium to allow for Thursday afternoon events in the Main Arena, rearranging classes to allow sufficient time for the more popular classes, and setting an earlier start time for the morning shows. If it becomes necessary to change any class time or location during the Event, changes will be posted on the Bulletin Board for easy 24-hour reference in addition to announcements over the PA system. Also, the Show Office will be open on Monday, Memorial Day from 8:00am to 1:00pm to finish up accounting issues and final acceptance of awards. Again, thanks to everyone who completed the Survey last year. Please continue to provide us with your ideas, suggestions and comments. The Show Committee values your input and the changes you see in this Show came from your input. Together, we can continue to present The Greatest Mule Show On Earth! ATTENTION RANCH MULE COMPETITORS: Steer Stopping & Team Roping has changed this year to a 4-steer,non-progressive average. All teams will get all three steers in a non-progressive format, giving all ropers a chance at day money and the average money. This year we will bring back the top 10 ropers (or teams) in the average for the Short GO (4th steer) average money. There Is No Practice. Wednesday Afternoon is the First GO. Each one-team entry fee pays for three GOs and finals, if applicable. New to our 2014 Souvenir Program will be a MULE TRAIN- ER PAGE. This will highlight mule trainers and provide contact information to spectators & contestants shopping for a trainer. We are asking all trainers to provide our Show Office with a paragraph (250 word max) explaining who, where and contact information. We Must Have This No Later Than March 1st. Also, we are offering trainers a half price 1/8 pg. ad in the 2014 Program. If interested, please contact the Bishop Mule Days Office no later than March 1. ATTENTION DRIVERS/TEAMSTERS: You have new events and reorganized championships! Thanks to all who helped us to reorganize and develop new classes. Teamsters will now have an expanded opportunity to show Driving excellence, and the new Speed Driving Championship will demonstrate Driving skill at high speeds. We want to know the first year that you participated in Bishop Mule Days and how many years you have been a part of our Event. Please give us that information with your entries (see pg. 21)so that we can include each competitor s history with Bishop Mule Days in our 2014 Souvenir Program. Phone: Fax: showsec@muledays.org 1
