PURPOSE: To provide Members with an update on the of obsolete vehicles and equipment assets. RECOMMENDATION: That Members of the Fire and Rescue Authority acknowledge the report. 1. Introduction 1.1 This paper provides an update on the assets disposed of over the financial year 2014/15 to date, and due to be disposed of over the next twelve months, under the scheme of delegated authority. The assets referred to here are obsolete equipment and vehicles. 1.2 There was one vehicle assets with a value in excess of 10,000, which were previously approved by the Fire and Rescue Authority for. There were two vehicle assets disposed of with a value below 10,

2 1.3 There were numerous small items of equipment with little or no value. There were 14 assets disposed of by donation with some value, but individually the value was below 500, based on market research. The total value of these assets was potentially circa 2,300. There was one batch of equipment that was sold for 3,500. Another batch of equipment due for is anticipated to raise 1, The total income generated from the sale of these assets to date was 33,987 excluding VAT, which has been used to support the Capital Budget for the replacement asset(s). 2. Disposed Assets 2.1 Table 1and 1A shows those assets disposed of, and their realised value. Table 2 and 2a shows those assets due for in the next 12 months. This company is a key supplier to the Service and the donation will support the development of future vehicle mounted systems, such as ladders, ladder gantries, roller shutters etc.. This work will lead to improvements in future Fire Appliances and will maximise the benefit of the vehicle to the Service. Following the use of the vehicle for this purpose, the vehicle will be returned to the Service for donation to the on-going Kenya Onset Project. #2/ All the items in this table with an indicated value of Nil Donation have very little or no residual value. The only items with residual value are marked*. These items are individually worth less than 500 based on market research. 13.5

6 3. Implications 3.1 The vehicle assets in Table 2 are due for replacement in 2015/16. The Service Delivery Asset Group may decide to extend the life of the listed vehicles following reports on the condition of the vehicle and potential future usage.
