1 Date/Time: 01/27/ SITREP#: Incident #: N/A Incident: Weather Cold Plunge II IEMA Region: 4 County: Lake EOC Activation Level: Level 0 POC: Lee Shannon, III Info: BLUF - BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: WIND CHILL WARNING Til 0900 Wednesday High temperature for today was 7 at Midnight. Temps will continue to plunge all day as we near or exceed record lows overnight and on Tuesday. INJURIES/FATALITIES: No issues at this time LIFE SAFETY: No issues at this time. CURRENT SITUATION: F with WNW winds at 5 gusting to 28 with causing a wind chill of -17 F. CRITICAL ISSUES: None at present ROAD / HIGHWAY / INTERSTATE STATUS: Good winter driving condition. Because of the low temperatures, where salt melted snow, it may be ice. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced today that road conditions are slick and dangerous in Northern Illinois, and motorists should only travel if absolutely necessary. Currently, the majority of roads in the Northern part of the state are snow and ice covered with wind gusts as high as 30 mph, creating whiteout conditions. IDOT has 615 trucks and more than 750 employees assigned to impacted areas to remove snow and ice from state routes to help ensure the safety of the motoring public. Due to current weather conditions, IDOT encourages motorists who must travel to check the latest winter road conditions and road closures at

2 CURRENT OPERATIONAL STATUS: Village Administration - Village Office s EMA Finance Fire/EMS Parks Police Public Works WWTF Environmental Committee Meeting has been cancelled due to weather. - Call-Out Schedule in place for Mass Care (Warming Shelter) Monitoring for Weather updates - - Chief Nixon has increased staffing for Sunday Evening thru Wednesday Morning. The cold snap is causing some headaches for vehicles but they are managing to keep them functioning. - Winter Operations programs involving schools will be cancelled - APD is briefed up and prepared for the extreme weather coming our way. Officers are equipped with extra cold weather gear and water. Regular patrol loops will be maintained in an effort to locate and assist motorists in need and we will be on the lookout for citizens with special needs such as seniors. - Have been briefed on expected weather conditions outdoor exposure will be limited to emergency needs - Districts & Township Highway Dept - Public Library - Chief Librarian has advised the library will be closed on Monday. Schools - All Public & Private Schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday Township Office - MASS CARE: Emergency Management is prepared to open the Senior Center if an emergency requires a Warming Shelter. During normal operating hours, the Antioch Public Library will be available.
