ORGANISATION CALERO MARINAS SOLO TRANSAT is a sailing race organised by: Real Club Nautico de Arrecife (RCNA) and the collaboration of Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV), sponsored by Calero Marinas, Newport Shipyard and Sail Newport as collaboration partners. The term Organising Authority designates RCNA and/or every physical or moral person designated or assigned by RCNA to intervene in the Race organisation. 2. NAME The official name is CALERO MARINAS SOLO TRANSAT. 3. OBJECT CALERO MARINAS SOLO TRANSAT is a solo sailing transatlantic race. The Race provides Skippers with the opportunity to qualify for the Vendée Globe race, it is open to IMOCA 60 monohulls. 4. DEFINITIONS Assembly Area Boat Event NOR Noticeboard OC Port Race RC RM The area within the Port where the Boats are allocated berthing. A 60 monohull IMOCA yacht, with a validate IMOCA certificate. The whole period from Monday 4 april, to the end of all promotional events in the Finish Port including the Race itself. The Notice of Race (including any appendices, amendments etc.) The officials infos will be on the website of the race: The Organising Committee will be made up by Real Club Nautico de Arrecife. RRS The Racing Rules of Sailing Rules SI Skipper Time Limit Any or all of the rules referred to in Clause 5 of the NOR. Sailing instructions (including any appendices, amendments etc.) The person in charge of the Boat at all times at sea and fitting the criteria described in Clause 6 below. The time by which all Skippers must have finished the Race, which will be by the start of the prize giving ceremony of the Race at the latest.

RULES Specific attention is drawn to RRS, Basic Principles: Sportsmanship And The Rules: Fundamental rule 1.1: A boat or competitor shall give all possible help to any person or vessel in danger. and Fundamental rule 4: The responsibility for a boat s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone. Attention is also drawn to the Offshore Special Regulations 1.02: The safety of a yacht and her crew is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the person in charge who must do his best to ensure that the yacht is fully sound, thoroughly seaworthy and manned by an experienced crew who have undergone appropriate training and are physically fit to face bad weather. He must be satisfied as to the soundness of hull, spars, rigging, sails and all gear. He must ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and stowed and that the crew know where it is kept and how it is to be used. He shall also nominate a person to take over the responsibilities of the Person in Charge in the event of his incapacitation. Neither the establishment of these Special Regulations, their use by race Organisers, nor the inspection of a yacht under these Special Regulations in any way limits or reduces the complete and unlimited responsibility of the person in charge. 5.1 Applicable documents: a) The NOR, including any appendices and amendments. b) The SI including any amendments. c) The International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) only where they are referenced from the RRS and for the avoidance of other vessels not racing. 5.2 The official language of the Race will be English. 5.3 Routing shall mean any specially prepared information and/or indication, whether personalised or for a group of Skippers, coming from the outside, with the exception of public weather information. External routing is not allowed. 5.4 Boats must comply with MARPOL 73/78 Annex V which prohibits the dumping of plastic or synthetic materials at sea. Boats shall not dump fuel or oil overboard at any time. 5.5 Exceptional circumstances - In the case of exceptional circumstances, and in situations where the safety of the Skipper is at stake, the RC may need to formulate specific directives that the Skipper will have to follow. These new directives will be issued to meet the exceptional circumstances and will be dealt with in the most effective way. Such directives could amend one or more of the clauses included in the NOR or other applicable rules mentioned above.

5 6. SKIPPER 6.1 The Race is single-handed, the Skipper is the person in charge of the Boat for the duration of the Race. 6.2 The Skipper must be in possession of all official documents (personal and boats) necessary in order to enter and to leave Lanzarote and to enter mainland in Newport, special attention is drawn to the USA visa. 6.3 The Skipper must comply with the laws of his/her national authority or country of residence. The Skipper must be in possession of a valid sailing license for the Race, with a medical visa, in compliance with the laws and regulations of his/her country. 6.4 Minimum age: 18 years old on 30 November ISAF-approved safety and survival training According to the ISAF Special Offshore Regulation, the Skipper must have taken part in a course for survival at sea at a centre certified by ISAF, or one of the ISAF national authority members. 7. SKIPPER AND BOAT ATTENDANCE The Skipper will take part in any event detailed in the official program and any update published on the Noticeboard and in the official presentation given by the Organising Authority. 7.1 Berthing in Lanzarote will be free of charge from the 4th of April until the start. On arrival, a discounted rate of $2.50/foot/night for each boat will be applied until May 1st in host marina at Newprot Shipyard. 7.2 From Skippers we expect to be present at the press conference one day before the start and to accept interview with media after or during the conference. 8. RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRY 8.1 The Organising Authority may choose to limit the total number of entries to the Race based on availability of space in the host Ports or for any other reason. Such decision will be at its sole discretion. 8.2 In accordance with RRS 76.1, the Organising Authority or RM reserves the right to refuse participation in the Race of any Boat that does not appear to be in good condition, insufficiently equipped, dangerous or does not comply with the obligations of the NOR and safety rules. 8.3 The Organising Authority or RC s decisions will be final and indisputable (this changes RRS 76.1).

ENTRY AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURE 9.1 For a entry to be accepted, a completed entry form attached as Appendix 2, together with a entry fee of 500, must be sent to the Organising Authority by e mail : solotransat@caleromarinas.com 9.2 The entry of a Boat will be recorded after the date of receiving a correctly-completed registration File including a bank operation confirmation of a registration fee of 500. The registration file will be sent to RCNA by solotransat@caleromarinas.com on 25 march 2016 at the latest (date dispatch). 9.3 Payment to OC will be cash, credit card or bank transfer before 25th of march. Bank detail : Bank: Cajamar Cajarural SWIFT / Código BIC: CCRIES2AXXX IBAN: ES Late entries may be considered by the Organising Authority up to the start date. 9.5 Registration to the Race implies total acceptation of the NOR, without reserve. 10. BRANDING AND IDENTIFICATION At all times from the 4th April till the prize giving ceremony, Boats shall display the following branding and identification (all to be provided to each Boat by the Organising Authority). 1) Allow a space equal to 1/4 of the Length in the Bow side for the sticker of the Sponsor (Calero Marinas will supply this) 2) Fly the event official Flag during the Race (maximum 2meters high by 1 meter wide -Calero Marinas will supply this) 3) To have installed a valid tracker in the boat for monitor the race real-time (Owner will provide a standard tracker) 11. POSITION REPORTING 11.1 The organisation of the race will provide a satellite communications tracker during the period related to the race, that must remain switched on from the 4th of April until after the prize giving ceremony. The tracker will be delivered again to the organisation after the prize giving ceremony. This reporting will only be for media, not for safety The Boat must carry active AIS, which will be fully activated for the duration of the Race.

INSURANCE 12.1 Public liability insurance: The Skipper must have obtained public liability insurance to cover his/her participation in the Event for a minimum insurance value of 3 million per claim. The Skipper will provide the OC with an insurance certificate by 6 APRIL 2016 at the latest Skipper s insurance: The Skipper must ensure that all persons on board the Boat are covered with a suitable personal accident insurance policy to cover their participation in the Race. Such insurance policy must cover, at a minimum, death, permanent total disability, medical cover and rescue at sea. 13. RACES 13.1 The Race will start from LANZAROTE on 9 April 2016, 12h00 local time across the Atlantic from East to west and will finish in Newport Rhodes Island, 2880NM. 14. SCORING SYSTEM 14.1 Boats will be ranked based on their order of finishing, as amended by any penalties (or redress) being awarded by the Jury. 15. PRIZES Prizes will be awarded for the first 3 ranked boats. 16. LIABILITY 16.1 The Organising Authority s shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury of whatsoever kind, howsoever arising (including force majeure), misrepresentation, breach of duty or otherwise to the maximum extent permitted by Law Skippers and any others involved with the Event shall be deemed to be aware of the NOR, and shall not make any claims or bring any proceedings of any nature in relation to or arising out of the Event against anyone involved in the organisation or management of the Event.Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the benefit of all exclusions and indemnities in the Rules shall apply not only to the Organising Authority but also to the individual members of the Organising Authority and RC and anyone else involved in the organisation or management of the Event from time to time.

8 16.3 Insofar as any of the other exclusions of liability set out in the NOR fail to exclude any liability the Organising Authority may have for injury, loss or damage suffered by any third party in respect of any activities undertaken by, or for the benefit of, any one Skipper, Skipper indemnify the Organising Authority in respect of such liability and all costs and expenses attributable to such claim. Skippers indemnify the Organising Authority for any loss or damage sustained by the Organising Authority as a result of the Skipper s breach of the Rules including, without limitation, those required by the NOR Acceptance of these exclusions of liability and provision of these indemnities shall be a condition of entering or participating in the Race and shall be effective as against Skippers and any others involved with the Event. It is the responsibility of Skippers entering the Race to ensure that the above provisions are brought to the attention of all persons associated with their participation in the Event. 17.
