1 This ppo2 display unit is just a prototype, using it is not allowed and not our intension. It is for demonstration only. Be always aware that a device like this can and will show wrong data and that can and will kill you when using it on a rebreather device When buying one of our prototypes you agree with this! Always be trained on diving rebreathers, these are dangerous and when not trained you may kill yourself! Wasserkontakt water contact Batterie -----battery

2 Reed----the read contact for calibration is installed here LED minus goes to GND LED- For the RED LED must be 220Ohm resistor installed, in line! GND means ground! GND ground Depth sensor Vs +5V (supply voltage, has to be between 4,7 and 5,5V) Vout is the signal!! Do not mix it with Vs Vout is PIN 1, the one with the mark!

3 Pins 4, 5 and 6 are NOT used, do not connect anything there, they are only for internal factory use! Layout: O2 sensors: po2 S1, po2 S2, po2 S3. (all minus together!) Depth sensor P (P signal, P +5V, P- to GND) LED +5V, LED -. LED will need a resistor in line!!! (red LED ~220 Ohm) Using the modul: The display requires a 9V block cell or accu (If you like you also can use 7 accus Type AAA!!) Always take care on correct plus and minus connection of battery!! It will work between 6 and 10V When battery voltage is way below 7 it s better to change the inexpensive 9V block cell!! When water contacts get wet or bridged with wet fingers display turn on. It turns off after 60 seconds when water contacts are dry or not bridged! The 60 seconds are counted backwards. When doing the calibration the 60 seconds start again, is displayed upper right corner

4 The unit in 100% Oxygen, counter just started, a very small over pressure on the system Always take SD card out only when modul is OFF! As the SD card stores a lot of dives we recommend to open and close the display tube only when you really need to download the files, not after every dive!

5 Of course, unit is also working without the SD card! This card is only for data storage for your personal records! Without the SD card the battery life will increase of course! Calibration Activate modul with wet fingers, do not hold the fingers on contacts! It will work 60 seconds Sensors should be in air or 100% O2, the unit checks this automatically, when the mv read is over 20mV the calibration will be done to O2. Of course it is shown on the display what is used for calibration. Go over the reed contact with a magnet and display will do calibration! You see on display weather the unit calibrates in air or O2! You can not calibrate the unit when contacts are bridged or in water!! This is a safety point, so under water no calibration is possible!! When calibrating, always you activate the reed contact the 60 sec shut down clock starts new Calibration is also stored on the SD card

6 Some side info: As the depth sensor and the processors allows a detailed displayed depth we decided to show 2 digits right of comma., means also cm! Of course this is not useful under water. (we know that ) But, once you have done calibration, installed the sensors to your Rebreather and closed the Rebreather activate the display and you can see how OVER and UNDER pressure will go as the cm correlated to mbar This is just an extra to just the visual control of bas or hoses!!

7 And, of course you know that.once you have closed your over pressure valve you can adjust the over pressure valve by opening it slowly and check on which depth (pressure) the pressure drops down, then very easily you can calculate the mbar of pressure you need to open your valve. So the cm display is just for the predive check! Short technical info : 3 channels for sensors, type mv in air 0.21 bar ppo2) (More so far not used digital and analogue channels for future updates or more features) ppo2 shown from 0.2 to 2.0 %O2 shown from 0 to 100% (99) Depth sensor : m Past 100 meter display will work, but % O2 is NOT correct shown as depth sensor is not working correct, it will stop at 100 m!! The ppo2 is always OK, but not the calculated percentage! Once you come back to 100 meter.percentage will be shown correct again! Theoretically the sensor will be killed around meters! battery voltage has to be between 6V and 10V, always take care of correct connection We recommend to change battery when voltage before the dive is shown around 6.5V Always use good reliable 9V cells!!!!!! Not the very cheap models!! Amount of current to be used 17 ma with pressure sensor, 52 µa standby

8 Display: 4x20 signs Depth sensor model: MPX5999D Red LED, flashes when po2 <0,5 bar or po2>1,5 bar, will flash also when calibrating in AIR of course, shows you the LED is working Between 0.5 and 1.5 LED is OFF! So this LED is also a good indicator for your dive buddy, when something red is shown on your display it seems something is wrong! And the flashing is much better (one more than one reason) than steady illuminated SD Card to use: Kingston 256MB, FAT16 formatted Other will work, but may need more power, so battery drains faster! We had best results with less consumption of battery life with this type of SD card Files written : DIVE0001.TXT (continuous numbers.); open file with WordPad or any text editor. Or import it in Excel or what ever and make your graphs to analyse your dive and sensors or use the data as you like. The SD card is also an inexpensive memory and you can download it anywhere (nearly) without any extra to buy hardware! For that reason we decided to make files basic, no extra software need to be bought.

9 The complete unit, dismantled, all cables are long enough to open the display and change SD card or battery without any problem. When opening and later installing the plugs, take care not to break the o-ring. Grease them, but just a bit of grease to make them going in easily! Grease is not sealing!!! Only a good O-Ring! Always good to turn (twist) the plugs a bit right-left when installing them.
