4 EQUIPMENT CONTROL FACILITIES The area proposed for the Equipment Control should be of sufficient size to avoid congestion; it needs:- Good access and big enough Stabile floor is the first when you choose the location Needs good light and ventilation Close to Armoury and the ranges Changing Rooms on different places Post Competition Test Control Area Range clock

5 EQUIPMENT CONTROL FACILITIES Please, do NOT choose a tent for equipment control, have in mind. Floor quality Access Climate condition Temperature changes Effect of measurements Requirement is a permanent Room Instruments are very precise and work without problem, but you can imagine the best instrument will show you wrong results if a floor or table is moving

14 STAFFING AND STAFF TRAINING The best equipment will not work without good staff and good training. Equipment + Staff is like a gear box Only the combination will work

15 STAFFING AND STAFF TRAINING Equipment Control needs a qualified experiend team Officers are handling with guns. Controls in all sections must be done very accurate. Training internaly is necessary, Rule changes, procedure,etc. We face problems that national Staff are comming on the official arrival day, and therfore the preparation is behind. Languagge problems. Long working hours

16 ISSF Rule 6.5 TESTING EQUIPMENT REQUIRED - ISSF SHOP Each Organizing Committee must provide a complete set of gauges and instruments for Equipment Control during ISSF Championships Have also in mind to have a spare set of instruments You can find Tools and Instruments at the ISSF Shop

17 COMPETITION SCHEDULE Enough time between qualification and final should be scheduled in order to give the EC staff the ability to complete the necessary post competition checks. In general we have one (1) hour between qualification- finals, a great help would be to have on each specific range a little area prepared for the Post competition checks and Taping

18 Protection of athletes Follow the Rules and Guidelines Elevate the status and level of authority of Equipment Control Increase the confidence of athletes Involve and cooperate with athletes EQUIPMENT CONTROL SPIRIT Open testing in order to assure the integrity of the process, but the private atmosphäre must be strictly respected. The ISSF Equipment Control Panel Committee will support and assist any official ISSF event. Any member of the ISSF Panel Committee is equipped with special tools to be able to cover all situations, concerning instruments, calibration and repairing.

23 PRE AND POST COMPETITION TESTING PROCEDURES STIFFNESS DEVICE TABLE Courved edges The table top must be of a material provided it does not impede with the movement of the fabric while measuring stiffness.

24 CALIBRATION & POST COMPETITION TESTS Testing Equipment and Calibration Is most important All tools what you are using must be correct and accurate. The tools and instruments will be checked by the ISSF responsible person and she/he will bring a special testing set. ISSF Manuals and Guidelines available on the ISSF web side

27 SHOTGUN INSTRUMENTS Testing calibration weight provided by the ISSF, 24,5 gr. Scale with certificate provided by the ISSF, at least two digits are required, three are even better Skeet Marker Tape Test Provided by the ISSF, with a special Laser 2 sets ( 12) Ammunition boxes with a cover provided by the OC

28 MEASUREING OF THE SKEET MARKER TAPE Change 2018 After the measurement the marker tape will be sealed. Control is not obligatory. BUT Post Competition tests will check the correct position.

29 EXPLANATION OF MEASUREING THE SKEET MARKER TAPE That will be changed for the new season 2018, a tool is under construction and available from the HQ later on.

35 CURRENT EQUIPMENT CONTROL ISSUES PRE AND POST COMPETITION TESTING PROCEDURES The Pistol Trigger weight control must be conducted on the Range, a table at the end of the range, or next to the CRO is required, please arrange that when you plan your competition. For Rifle a closed are is necessary with a table, electricity and power extension.

36 CURRENT EQUIPMENT CONTROL ISSUES PRE AND POST PREPARATION AREA Must be big enaugh for all athlets and coaches. Chairs and table for every athlete. Range Clock Make sure that the area is secured during the final. A Range clock should be available.

37 CURRENT EQUIPMENT CONTROL ISSUES The ISSF Equipment Control procedure R,P&RT was working very well this year. The Rifle and Pistol reporting area in Finals was sometimes too small, and in qualification ranges no place or corner prepared for Post Competition tests Shotgun Cartridge overweight,colored wad, and reporting area issues. Most of the cartridges were sold out at the venue and we had some cases with an old production, which was not according the rules

38 CURRENT EQUIPMENT CONTROL ISSUES PRE AND POST PREPARATION AREA Must be big enaugh with a table and six boxes, close on the FOP and cannot be in a public area A note reporting area needs to be published, if the reporting area is not directly at the FOP A Range Clock, can be also the scoreboard A Range clock should be available
