2 WORKSHOP ORIENTATION Thank you to all delegates and ISSF officials for your participation in this year s 15 th ISSF Championship Organizers Workshop. We welcome: 42 representatives of 41 Championships Organizers 36 ISSF Officials 13 representatives of cooperating organizations We are here to work together to make our sport s championships better for our athletes, more attractive for our public and a source of hope and inspiration for our youth. We look forward to learning and sharing together with you during the next two days!

3 OUR WORKSHOP AGENDA A detailed Schedule and Agenda was distributed and is posted on the ISSF Organizers Page Friday, : Welcome and presentations for all delegates. Friday evening, 1900: Dinner for all delegates in the Hilton Hotel 15 th floor restaurant (Hosted by Sius). Saturday, : Presentations for all delegates. Saturday, : Special Session for Technical Delegates. Saturday evening, 1815 bus departure: Traditional Bavarian roast duck dinner for all delegates at the Sollner Hof Restaurant (Hosted by ISSF). Coffee breaks each day at 1030 and1515/1530. Lunch breaks each day at Off-line meetings to discuss open issues (schedules, etc.).

4 ISSF ORGANIZER WORKSHOPS ISSF Championships include the Olympic Games (2020), World Championships, World Cups, World Cup Finals, Continental Games and Continental Championships (3.2.2, a)). ISSF Championships now include Junior World Cups (started in 2016) and World Junior Championships (1 st R-P JWCH in 2017). The 1 st ISSF Workshop for Championship Organizers took place in The 2017 Workshop is the 15 th Workshop. ISSF Organizer Workshops are organized for delegates from all ISSF Championships in the current year (2017) and the next year (2018) and, optionally, in the year after next (2019).

11 HOW TO USE THE PRESENTATIONS Concern: Some delegates do not put Workshop instruction into practice. Problem: Workshops present more information than one person can remember. Action: To take better advantage of Workshop recommendations: 1. Take careful notes. 2. Know how to find Workshop presentations for future review. 3. For each presentation that applies to your Championship, identify an OC staff member who is responsible for that function provide presentation links to that staff member. 4. Make a commitment to excellence Workshop presentations are best practice advice or guidelines.

OCs that are ready on arrival day Electronic Target maintenance Paperless Championships Jury Performance Incident and exception reporting Gender equality (more female Jury members and NTOs) OC financial outcomes General Information (Official Program) communications

13 NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP ORGANIZERS Mixed Team Events (10m AR, 10m AP, Trap): New Olympic events are now mandatory WC events. Gender Equality: Women s events are now the same (no. of shots, time) as men s events final decisions are not made, but plan for longer events is a World Championship Year: We know the Korean Shooting Federation and Changwon Organizing Committee will astonish us with a great World Championship Olympic Qualifying: 2020 quota distribution starts at the Changwon WCH Organizers: Established new standards for organizational accomplishment and excellence. Three Pillars of the Olympic Movement: IOC stress on Youth-Credibility- Sustainability challenge us to focus on these key areas.
