2 The CEV U18/20/22 European Championships The CEV Age group Championships are considered a key element of the CEV and the National Federations (NFs) development programme, providing to the next generation of elite European Beach Volleyball athletes the opportunity to compete and develop their skills. The event attracts a constantly rising high number of participating NFs across Europe, acting as the annual meeting point for young Beach Volleyball athletes across Europe. Since 2013 the number of Main Draw teams has been increased to 32 and for 2018 onwards a Qualification Tournament is planned to allow the opportunity to all NFs to participate in these annual youth Beach Volleyball meeting of the future stars of European Beach Volleyball. CEV pays special attention in promoting the events and offering in collaboration with the organisers an event experience to all participants and fans through specially designed initiatives and social media activities. 3 The CEV Youth Continental Cup Final The CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup is the dedicated qualification process for the European spots to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Through this process five NFs will qualify to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games Beach Volleyball tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup consists of 2 competition phases over a period of 2 years: a Qualification Round that was played during the 2017 season and the CEV Youth Continental Cup Final to be played in The Qualification Phase was played in 2017 with the participation of 39 National Federations in boys and 41 in girls drawn into 8 pools. All pools were conducted parallel to other International Beach Volleyball tournament to allow the young athletes the add-on experience. The Youth Continental Cup Final, is scheduled to be played by 22 nd July 2018 according to the qualification timeline set by IOC, with the participation of the 2 top ranked teams per gender from each of the 8 Qualification round tournaments. An additional spot for the organising NF will become available if the Applicant NF has not qualified to the Final in the respective gender. Candidature Application Page 3 of 7

4 The Application Process The CEV invites NFs to apply for the organisation of the 2018 CEV Age Group Beach Volleyball European Championships and the CEV Youth Continental Cup Final until 31 st October According to the process introduced for the award of the CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship Final, the CEV aims to establish a clear and transparent procedure. Step 1 - Application: The Candidature application shall only be considered as valid in case all requested documents are included, namely the BV-A Application form with all its enclosures, which are available in the download section of the CEV website. The Candidature application requires National Federations to obtain authorisations and guarantees from third parties. Each Applicant shall appoint one individual as main contact for the CEV, during the entire process. The submission of the candidature application is an acceptance to comply with the CEV requirements and regulations for the organisation of the CEV competition. Step 2 - Evaluation: The CEV evaluates the applications based on the documentation provided as well as the experience with previous organisations in the respective venue/city/country. Step 3: - Award: If appointed by the CEV, the candidate will automatically become the organiser of the respective CEV competition. Public announcement of the appointed Organisers will be coordinated together with the CEV at a mutually agreed time. A timetable of actions (Event s Master Plan) will be agreed with the Organisers. Step 4 - Execution: The Organiser and the CEV work closely together throughout the implementation process in order to develop and follow a clear time lined Master Plan to properly deliver the event for all involved stakeholders. 5 The Application This document aims to share the key organising aspects and support each Applicant to identify the elements that need to be considered while planning the candidature. At the same time it aims to provide the CEV with the information necessary to properly evaluate each application and to appoint the Organiser. Nevertheless, it does not intent to repeat the requirements of the CEV competition, which are described in the CEV Beach Volleyball Competitions Regulations and organising Guidelines. The candidate is expected to: - Submit a duly completed and detailed BV-A Application form, - Present binding support from institutions, sponsors and other partners on national, regional and local level, which are involved in the Application, - Present a confirmation letter from the authority owning the area where the venue(s) shall be deployed, - Communicate together with the Application the key persons responsible for the event delivery, namely: The Tournament Director, The NF Delegate, The Communication & Media manager - Present a basic promotion and communication strategy, - Involve a sufficient management team for the proper event delivery, considering the amount of participating teams and necessary supporting operations, - Plan adequate initiatives for the pre and post-event stages - Describe the planned effects staging the competition to the further development of Beach Volleyball in the country, region and city. An event can be staged in more than one venue; in this case attention needs to be paid in planning both the necessary supporting facilities and the logistical aspects.
