1 "ALPHA PROJECT" Sept. 9, Rain most of day Drill arrived in camp in late evening. Sept. 10, Rain most of day Setting up drill and started in A. M. Location = OE - Station 2 + SON. Coordination on line (northerly). Finished = 46' at±. 9:00 P. M. An underground creek occurs at pres sure. (eighteen) depth, suggesting from water Bedrock at ±. 14' (fourteen). Recoverage of core is very bad and comes up in small broken pieces and as sandy mixture, which is lost with upcoming water. Casing was put down to 23' (twenty-three) depth. Core is magnetic at ' (fifteen' - twenty I). Sept. 11, Cloudy, rainy periods Drilling continues and core is again very hard to recover. is lost as sand which is forced to surface from water pressure. A large percentage No mineralization other than Py noticed and minor amount of graphite. More casing was added to a total depth of 26 1 (twenty-six). Slightly magnetic core throughout and may be observed at between /6 (sixty-nine I and seventy I. six"). (Magnetite and pyrite.) and It is doubtfull, at this point if drill will reach to one hundred feet (to 125 maximum). Only one foot at the time is pulled as rock formation is very blocky. A total of 27' (twenty-seven) was drilled for an overall depth of 72' (seventy-two) Drilling with a "Winkie" in this type of rock is heavy as the hole caves in during the pulling of the rods and may need one more man shortly as two men are not a ble to do the lifting.

2 Page 2 According to me I the Company should abandon the "Alpha II Project after completion of No. 1 Hole as the conductor is mainly Py and magnetite and underground water. No economical minerals are present here from observation so far and the conductor is self explainable. JJA:JF

3 "A" Conductor - Tanah Creek, B. C. Jennings River Map Sept. 12, 1971 Drilling continues today. Two springs in the clutch of the "Winkie" were broken early in morning. Drilling is still heavy and rods are hard to pull out. A total of 28' (twenty-eight) was drilled during the day 'till 8:00 P. M. for an overall depth of 100' (one hundred). Sept. 13, 1971 The rock type is argillite and is consistant from ± 20' (twenty) downwards. Drill stopped at 106' (one hundred and six). Reason for stopping is that the hole caves in to the point where core cannot be recovered and rods ate~ too heavy to pull as well a s getting back down the hole. One way to keep drilling would be to cement the hole. The drill is also still operating on a broken clutch. Rocktype is still argillitic with minor pyrite showings. Still no commercial mineralization found. Again may I suggest to a bandon this project as it is a waste of budgetary matter as well as time. Note: Should the Company feel that there is rea s on to continue on to the next hole it is in my opinion doubtfull if the "Winkie" can put down the casing to a depth where core recoverage is possible. Estimates overburden at next hole, (Coordination = Baseline - 12 West) is to a minimum of 50' (fifty). Should this prove to be correct, casing would not rea~ this depth as the drill can put casing down to the maximum of ±. 26' as in No..1. hole. More water hose would be needed as closest water is at ±.1400' distance. Approximately 1000' of hose will have to be brought in before starting No. 2 Hole.

4 "ALPHA" Program - Tanah Creek "A" Conductor Jennings River MapArea, B. C. Sept. 14,1971 Sept. 15, 1971 Standby, as drill is stopped. Cemented the drill hole today as cement and calcium came in by chopper. Paul Sawyer came into camp and drillsite and arranged 2nd drillsite also. Will wait for cement to dry and commence drilling in morning, according to drillers. Sept. 16, 1971 Drilled to a total depth of 112 feet and stopped on this hole at this depth as men are unable to pull rods from hole at this depth. At 107' (one hundred & seven) solid graphite occurs for 5' (five) to the bottom of hole. A little of this mineral was recovered but most of it was lost as upcoming slush. As at 112' graphite is still in existence and no othera:ore can be seen this mineral could go and does go somewhat deeper. From the looks of the E. M. conductor it should be quite a large bed, layer or vein of this mineral as conductive such as this one. This part of the Jennings River Map-Area is somewhat famous for graphitic showings as encountered here. Rosair, (the driller), wanted to leave the casing in this No. 1 Hole but I ordered him to pull it as it only took 30 minutes to do it. (Sorry if I acted against orders but this I didn't know at the time).? Sept. 17, 1971 Moved drill to new site, ' on Line 4 West. Casing put down to a depth of 16' (si xteen). Bedrock at 12' (twelve). Again graphite was encountered at 12' (twelve) and still in it at 16' Unable to recover this mineral in core as it washed up with the water of drill. I recommend this plenty of evidence for this Conductor "A" to abandon project as graphite and underground water are sure the case here. (However!). h

5 "A" Conductor ALPHA Project Tanah Creek Jennings River Map Area, B. C Sept. 19, 1971 Drilling continues after orders received. Casing put down to 30' (thirty). Total overall depth at 7:00 P. M. was at 58' (fifty-eight). Argillite is again here the host rock and sporadic Py: small crystal form is only sulphide present. Mineralization in Sept. 20, 1971 Graphite occurs from time to time as layers in between the argillites. Drilled to total depth of 86' (eighty-six). Recoverage of core is very bad at 83 1 downward as graphite exists here. Hole caves in and only six inches can be drilled at the time after which rods are pulled. This stuff cannot be cemented either. Only way to drill deeper is to bring the casing down to 83' depth if so desired. No other rocktype than argillite encountered. Only sulphide is Py. At this time only one drill bit is now available (new ones needed for any further drilling) Sept. 21, 1971 Stop drill and moved out.
