2 Citation WARRANTY SERVICE LETTER SL Eligibility: Parts: All affected airplanes within the serial effectivity. Authorized Citation Service Facilities, individual operators, or other maintenance facilities may submit a Credit Claim Form for the parts kit(s) required for accomplishment of this service letter, provided the work is completed and the claim submitted by the expiration date shown below. Only the specific oxygen mask part numbers and serial numbers listed in the Service Letter Appendix will be considered for warranty reimbursement if an oxygen mask is ordered through Cessna Service Parts & Programs. Oxygen masks not listed in the Service Letter Appendix which meet the requirement for harness replacement in the Avox Service Bulletin must follow one of the following options. 1. Oxygen mask price and associated labor will be at the customers expense if a replacement oxygen mask is ordered through Cessna Service Parts & Programs. 2. The customer can contact Avox to schedule a repair of their current oxygen mask. Labor: Authorized Citation Service Facilities may submit a Credit Claim Form for accomplishment of this service letter, on eligible airplanes, provided the work is completed and the claim submitted by the expiration date shown below. Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin MXH , Oxygen - Harness Assembly - Inspection for Potential Defective Component to do the following: A. (Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin, Figure 1.) Do an inspection of the part number on the crew oxygen mask identification tag. (1) Determine if the crew oxygen mask is affected by the Intertechnique service bulletin. (Refer to the table in the Intertechnique Service Bulletin MXH , Section 1 Planning, Effectivity - Section 4.) (2) If the part number of the crew oxygen mask is affected by the Intertechnique service bulletin, go to Step 1B. (3) If the part number of the crew oxygen mask is not affected by the Intertechnique service bulletin, go to Step 2. B. (Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin, Figure 1.) Do an inspection of the manufactured date on the crew oxygen mask identification tag. (1) If the manufactured date is prior to the first month 2011 (012011), go to Step 1C. (2) If the manufactured date is in or after the first month of 2011 (012011), go to Step 2. C. (Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin, Figure 1.) Do an inspection of the serial number on the crew oxygen mask identification tag. (1) If the crew oxygen mask does not have a serial number that is identified in Appendix II of the Intertechnique service bulletin, go to Step 1D. SL Page 2 November 19, 2012

3 Citation SERVICE LETTER SL (2) If the crew oxygen mask has a serial number that is identified in Appendix II of the Intertechnique service bulletin, return the crew oxygen mask to Cessna Service Parts & Programs for exchange. NOTE: Owner/Operators: The existing crew oxygen mask must be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Cessna Service Parts & Programs (CSP&P), 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, and exchanged for an upgraded unit. Due to limited availability, ADVANCE SCHEDULING IS REQUIRED, please expedite the return of the removed part. D. Do an inspection of the crew oxygen mask for an overhaul placard. (1) If the date overhauled is prior to the 50th week of 2008 or after 8th week of 2011, go to Step 2. (2) If the date overhauled is between the 50th week of 2008 and the 8th week of 2011 or an overhaul placard is not found, go to Step1E. E. (Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin, Figure 1.) Do an inspection of the AMD (ammendment) letter on the crew oxygen mask identification tag. (1) (Refer to the Intertechnique Service Bulletin, Step 3C - Re-identification.) Determine if the appropriate AMD is incorporated based on the model number of the crew oxygen mask. (a) If the correct AMD letter is identified on the crew oxygen mask identification tag, go to Step 2. (b) If the crew oxygen mask does not have the AMD letter that is identified in Step 3C of the Intertechnique service bulletin, return the crew oxygen mask to Cessna Service Parts & Programs for exchange. NOTE: Owner/Operators: The existing crew oxygen mask must be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Cessna Service Parts & Programs (CSP&P), 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, and exchanged for an upgraded unit. Effectivity (1) Concerned equipment This Service Bulletin applies to the inflatable harness PNR MXH Series manufactured between 50 th week of 2008 year (0850S) and 31 th week of 2010 year (1031S) for the PNR and batches listed in Appendix I. These inflatable harness assemblies have been used for the manufacturing of new masks (See Appendix II), and have been sold as spare parts from 15-dec-2008 to 31- dec-2010, for the maintenance of masks already in service. Inflatable harness PNR MXH Series manufactured before 33 rd week of 2008 year (0833S) are not marked with any batch number and are not concerned. Inflatable harness PNR MXH Series manufactured between 33 rd week of 2008 year (0833S) and 49 th week of 2008 year (0849S) are marked with a batch number and are not concerned. Reason This Service Bulletin is issued : - To inform the operators of the potential risk of rupture on the inflatable harness. - To provide instructions for inspection and preventive replacement if necessary of potentially defective inflatable harness. 19 D. Description Based on our internal review and customer feedback, INTERTECHNIQUE has identified the potentially defective batches of silicon tubes. Inflatable harnesses assembled with defective silicon tubes have demonstrated an unusually high premature rupture rate. E. Compliance Incorporation of this Service Bulletin is mandatory (refer to EASA Airworthiness Directive AD No.: ) within 24 months of AD effectivity date. F. Approval This document was established in conformity with the INTERTECHNIQUE "Alternative Procedures to Design Organisation Approval" ref. PGQ-5030 approved by the EASA. From the stock : (1) Inspect the batch number (See Figure 3) of the inflatable harness: - If the batch number is found in the list of Appendix I, forward the defective inflatable harness to the appropriate Zodiac Services maintenance facility for replacement of the inflatable harness. B. Inflatable harness mounted on the Crew Oxygen Mask Regulator : (Including in aircraft) WARNING : STRICTLY OBEY THE PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK ON OXYGEN SYSTEM. DO NOT USE OIL, GREASE OR OTHER LUBRICANTS MADE FROM PETROL IN THE AREA OF OXYGEN EQUIPMENT. YOU CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION. CAUTION : APPLY THIS SB ON CLEAN SURFACE AND WITH CLEAN HANDS. Prior to using the flow chart to start the on-aircraft action(s), the operator, if he has the possibility, can determine, (e.g. aircraft maintenance logs check) whether the inflatable harness has been replaced, during a maintenance operation, on an oxygen mask regulator installed on the aircraft. 24 (1) Removal of the inflatable harness from the Crew Oxygen Mask Regulator: (a) Applicable to MA10, MC10, MC20, MF10, MF20 and MLC/MLD20 Series 1 Remove the screw from the inflatable harness with magnetic-screwdriver slotted (3x ). 2 Lift the locking tab of the coupling block which is in front of the regulator by 1 to 2 mm (0.04 to 0.08 in). 3 Hold the locking tab up and move the coupling block apart from the regulator. NOTE: Be careful not to remove the seal PNR (b) Applicable to MRA Series WARNING: THE REMOVAL OPERATION MUST BE PERFORMED IN CERTIFIED PART 145 WORKSHOP OR MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION APPROVED BY CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY. 1 Remove the mask (Refer to CMM Subtask A01) 2 Remove the harness (Refer to CMM Subtask A01) (2) Installation of the inflatable harness to the Crew Oxygen Mask Regulator: (a) Applicable to MA10, MC10, MC20, MF10, MF20 and MLC/MLD20 Series WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SEAL PNR IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN ITS HOUSING. 1 Install the harness on the regulator body and attach it with the screw. 2 Torque the harness attachment screw 0,20 N.m ± 0,02 (1.77 lb.in ± 0.17). 25 (3) Test of the Oxygen Crew Mask (a) Test of the time to inflate the inflatable harness: 1 Connect the Crew Oxygen Mask Regulator to the oxygen supply source. 2 Make the oxygen supply pressure stable: On aircraft: Use the O2 pressure system. In workshop: Refer to the relevant CMM. 3 Push the harness inflation plate. a b Make sure that the harness is fully inflated in one second maximum. Make sure that there is no noticeable leakage. (b) Apply a drop of leak test solution (SHERLOCK Type 1 or equivalent as per MIL-PRF25567) to the inflatable harness. 1 Make sure that there is no leak between the regulator and the inflatable harness. (c) Make the test of mask regulator inner leakeage (Applicable to MRA005). C. Re-identification 1 (Refer to CMM Subtask A01). After modification of inflatable harness MXH15-2, MXH16, MXH30, MXH33, MXH30G or MXH74G by inflatable harness MXH15-22, MXH16-20, MXH30-20, MXH30-20G or MXH74-20G: - The Crew Oxygen Mask Regulators MC10 Series are identified with the amendment letter S, - The Full Face Quick Donning Mask Regulators MF10 Series are identified with the amendment letter T, - The Full Face Quick Donning Mask Regulators MF20 Series (Except MF20-107) are identified with the amendment letter M, - The Crew Oxygen Mask Regulators MA10 SERIES are identified with the amendment letter Q, - The Full Face Quick Donning Mask Regulators MF is identified by the new PNR MF20-108, (1) With indelible ink, write the relevant amendment letter or the new PNR on the identification label.
