The self sealing suction port allows for suctioning the patient without affecting the delivery of fresh gases.

4 Neonatal Breathing Systems - Caring for our most delicate patients Flexicare have designed a range of neonatal circuits for use in the NICU providing choice of active or passive humidification. Low Dead Space Neonatal Y-Piece Very low dead space and rounded design reduces the risk of rebreathing (5.5 cubic cm/ml ). The self sealing suction port allows for suctioning the patient without affecting the delivery of fresh gases. 10mm Corrugated Tubing The 10mm corrugated tubing with shallow corrugations reduces the resistance to flow while maintaining a low compliance and allows for fast delivery of fresh gases to the patient. The lightweight of the tubing minimizes the drag on the patient. The structure of the 10mm corrugated tube allows the use of the circuit with oscillating ventilators. Pressure Line Fitted to the centre of the Y-Piece will measure the pressure in the circuit providing the most accurate information. Monitoring Port The detachable monitoring port can be moved close to the y-piece or moved further away when the circuit is used with incubated patients. Self Seal Water Trap The self sealing water trap incorporates a non-return valve that protects against the accidental flow of any liquids from the water trap into the circuit. 15mm Connectors The neonatal range of circuits have standard fitting 15mm connectors. Heated Wire Limb The inspiratory heated wire limb maintains the temperature and humidified fresh gases to the point of delivery at the patient end and reduces condensation in the circuit. This allows for saturated fresh gases to be delivered to the patient at the required temperature. Choice of heated wire connector Flexicare offers two different heated wire connectors to fit the specific heaters available. The Customer Care Department is committed to respond promptly to your enquiries and provide up to date information regarding our product range, or to simply discuss your orders and their status. Flexicare is dedicated to the full support of the Hospitals in terms of educational support and training of all medical staff within the understanding of the principles underlying the product range available. We work closely with a number of University Teaching Hospitals and Clinicians who help develop the packages available for training. Training can be undertaken in two ways: a) We offer a Train the Trainer package, whereby a Champion or Champions within the Hospital are chosen for complete training and this can then be transposed to the rest of the Hospital by the Champions. b) On-site training can be scheduled where by one of the Flexicare Specialists can provide seminars for the Hospital staff.
