1 United Kingdom PRODUCT NUMBER: A COMPACT AIR A Honeywell capitalized its experience on the Compact Air series by developing a new Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) Compact Air 200. Thanks to its three different alarms (audible, visual and vibrating) for clogged filters and low battery, Compact Air 200 offers the highest safety levels for long duration works. Certified according to the standard EN12941, Compact Air 200 can be used with a large range of hoods and welding helmets and is ideally suited for light industries such as pharmaceuticals to more heavy industrial activities such as chemical, construction and welding applications. A range of Honeywell RD40 filters tested against the EN14387 and the EN143 can be used with Compact Air 200 device or with negative pressure respirators. Never use this respirator : to perform or observe sand-blasting/abrasive-blasting, to fight fires, in any atmosphere having less than 17% oxygen by volume at sea level, in atmospheres where the concentrations of toxic contaminants are unknown, or are Immediately Dangerous to Life, in atmospheres where the concentration of the contaminant exceeds the respirator s Maximum Use Concentration, in poorly-ventilated areas, or confined spaces such as tanks, small rooms, tunnels or vessels, unless the confined space is well ventilated and the concentration of toxic contaminants is known to be, and will continue to be, below the Maximum Use Concentration recommended for the respirator. Immediately leave the work area and remove the respirator if: breathing becomes difficult, you become dizzy or disoriented, you smell, taste or otherwise sense contaminants; your respirator is damaged; or warning device is activated. This respirator will not protect exposed areas of the face or body from gases, vapours or airborne particles that can irritate, burn or be absorbed through your skin. You must wear hand and/or body protection. Do not use this respirator with the blower unit switched off. Upon extreme human effort, it is possible for a temporary negative pressure to occur in the air hood, resulting in a reduced protection factor of the system. Do not alter or modify this device in any way. 4 Care Instructions Controlled before use Before using the COMPACT AIR 200 powered respirator the user must ensure that all the conditions for safe use have been satisfied. Check before use that the battery is sufficiently charged and that the free flow of air is not obstructed by blocked filters or other causes. Check that the plug connection is secured by checking the tightness of the locking ring. Check that the correct filter type of filters has been fitted COMPACT AIR A Check that the COMPACT AIR 200 is working properly by means of the flow meter supplied. This is done by inserting the flow meter in a vertical position into the end of the hose and switching on the apparatus to which the filters to be used have already been fitted. The ball in the flow meter must at least reach the minimum level (170 litres per minute). Ensure that the filters are correctly engaged in the threaded sockets of the blower unit and that the seals have been fitted. Cleaning After each session clean the COMPACT AIR 200, using a mixture of water and a mild detergent. Subsequently, rinse thoroughly with clean water. (Do not use any solvents). During cleaning ensure that no water is allowed to enter the blower unit. The apparatus must not be immersed in fluid. Dry the COMPACT AIR 200 with a cloth and/or leave it to dry in the open air. Disposal The Compact Air 2000 and its components (including filters) must be disposed in accordance with the local waste disposal regulations.
