2 FIGURE NO WHAT IS THE TRAP-DEFENDER? NPT PLUG COMPRESSION FITTINGS DISTRIBUTION UNIT TRAP-DEFENDER IS A PRESSURE DROP TRAP PRIMER DESIGNED TO BE CONNECTED TO ANY POTABLE COLD WATER LINE. IT IS AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED WHEN AN ONLINE VALVE OR FAUCET IS OPENED AND THE SYSTEM EXPERIENCES A DROP IN PRESSURE. A PRESSURE DROP OF 3 PSI OR GREATER WILL ACTIVATE THE TRAP-DEFENDER VALVE AND RELEASE WATER INTO THE TRAP. DISTRIBUTION UNIT THE TRAP PRIMING DISTRIBUTION UNIT SIMPLY AND EFFECTIVELY PRIMES UP TO FOUR FLOOR DRAINS AND USES ONLY ONE TRAP PRIMING VALVE. 4 HOW IT WORKS When static water pressure is applied, water pushes the inlet check valve open, flows into the lower compression chamber and compresses the gas bubbles inside the foam ring. These gas bubbles push back against the inlet pressure with equal and conforming force. 01 Initial inward flow when the water supply is opened The Anti-Oscillation Valve's center orifice reduces inlet flow and delays the recompression of the foam ring for a fraction of a second, thus preventing trap primer oscillation due to water hammer effect. This valve allows ultralow pressure drop sensitivity in the trap primer valve design Line pressure is holding the outlet valve seat closed. The inlet check valve is open, allowing water to enter the lower chamber and compressing the foam ring s internal gas bubbles. The foam ring, being compressed by the inlet pressure, stores and equals this pressure information with no measurable difference between line pressure and the pressure of the foam ring, other than differential pressure. The capability of the foam to equal the line pressure allows constant and automatic adjustment to changes in static line pressure. No manual adjustment is required FIGURE NO. 2694
