18 GAS SCAVENGING NorVap Waste Gas Adsorber The NorVap Waste Gas Adsorber is an activated charcoal canister for the adsorption of anaesthetic gases. Suitable for both human and animal anaesthesia gas removal. Can be easily connected directly to the scavenging tubing from the patient circuit expiratory (scavenge) valve Organic anaesthetic gases are adsorbed by the charcoal e.g. halothane and isoflurane Nitrous oxide is not absorbed by the charcoal Weigh before anaesthesia and then discard when canister reaches 1.4 kgs. When the canister reaches 1.4kgs, it becomes saturated and any waste gases will simply be exhausted into the working environment.
