8 BOOSTER SET CASE STUDIES COSTA COFFEE Location: Basildon, Essex, United Kingdom Client: Costa Coffee Product: Pressure Booster and Break Tank The new Costa coffee roastery in Basildon, Essex built for Costa to meet the growing UK market has three large coffee roasters, capable of producing enough coffee for approximately 2.1 billion cups a year. Aquatech Pressmain were asked to supply a packaged water booster pump set with storage water tank which keeps the production process fully compliant with water supply regulations. WYTHENSHAWE HOSPITAL Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester, UK Client: NHS Product: 5 Pump Custom Pressure Booster Set The hospital wished to modernise the existing potable water supply and the control of the heating system. Aquatech Pressmain were asked to recommend equipment solutions that would provide longevity, reliability but most of all energy efficiency. The existing system included water tanks housed in a water tower which was due for demolition so a new water booster and heating pressurisation unit was required.once the water usage and pattern of demand was determined, Aquatech Pressmain built and supplied a new five pump water booster set and twin pump pressurisation unit, fitted with Aquatech Pressmain s own controller and energy efficient, intelligent variable speed pumps which together are able to meet the hospital s complex and varied needs. 6 The plant room for the booster set was underground so it was built in situ enabling a smooth transfer from the existing pump set, with no disruption to the hospital s water supply. As the new equipment only runs when required there is a saving on electricity as well as the saving on maintaining water tanks which are no longer needed.

HAMMOND HOUSE & DICKSON HOUSE Location: Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom Client: JPR Engineering Product: Pressurisation Units, two Water Boosters and Circulating Pumps For the flats at Hammond House & Dickson House in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Aquatech Pressmain visited the site, undertook a full survey, including checks of all existing plant rooms and produced a in-depth proposal including bespoke solutions for a leading Mechanical and Electrical company in Stoke; JPR Engineering, who installed Pressurisation Units, two Water Boosters and three Circulating Pumps all designed and built for the project by Aquatech Pressmain. By using the knowledge and expertise of Aquatech Pressmain and JPR Engineering collectively, the owners of Hammond House & Dickson House, have a bespoke water supply and heating system which is more efficient, more energy efficient and will save them and their tenants money. 10 WATER STORAGE AND CONTROLS We provide a range of water storage solutions and monitoring equipment for the level and/or temperature of fluid in tanks. TANKMATIC LEVEL & TEMPERATURE MONITOR/CONTROLLERS Ideal for continuous display and control of the level and/or temperature of liquids in tanks, sumps, etc. with output signals to interface with your application. Examples Constant monitoring of level, temperature or volume of water (or any liquid such as fuel oil) in tank(s), with analogue and digital outputs for BMS, for high and low liquid level and high and low liquid temperature. Outputs also available to switch pumps, valves alarms etc. General Tank lid or wall mounted control panel with either submersible or tank/pipework mounted level and temperature sensors. Optional remote display available for mounting in suitable location up to 1500m away. Data Sheet 402 AQUATANK APT SERIES ONE AND TWO PIECE GRP BREAK TANKS Aquatanks are moulded in one or two piece using GRP materials as approved by the Water Research Centre. Built to BS4994. All tanks and lids are pre-insulated with 25mm CFC-free foam fully encapsulated within the laminates as standard to provide a U value of 0.84 W/m 2 K. Two piece, 50mm and 75mm insulation options are also available. All tanks comply with the Water Regulations (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and incorporate a type AB Air Gap and are fitted with a raised float valve chamber with screened mesh slots. 11 AQUATANK APT SECTIONAL GRP TANKS Sectional tanks find application whenever access to the tank location is restricted or when large capacities are required. One piece storage tanks only being suitable for capacities of about 6m 3 before handling limitations become dominant. Sectional tanks comprise bolted panels and a metal bracing system depending upon size. They are supplied in a palletised form for installation by our trained erectors in the UK or for self-build for overseas projects. The unit is designed as a single piece item with an internal dividing wall at full height. One internal section being the wet compartment for the stored water which is accessed via a lid mounted lockable manway. Beyond the internal dividing wall is the dry side where the booster set is to be positioned. The internal dividing wall has the inlet and outlet connection within it, the overflow, warning pipe and screened spill over weir terminate through the wet side wall to outside and do not therefore normally require any additional pipework. The whole unit is mounted and fixed to a fully welded galvanised steel skid which allows offloading and movement on site by fork lift truck. The principle is to provide the unit factory assembled, with the booster set, associated pipework interconnections and electrical equipment as a fully packaged product. The completed unit can then be delivered to site where once positioned it requires the simple connection of the mains pipework, outlet pipework to the services, and electrical supply, making it a plug and play unit requiring minimal onsite installation. 15 PRESSURISATION UNIT CASE STUDIES THE ROYAL CENTRAL SCHOOL OF SPEECH & DRAMA Location: London, UK Client: The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama Product: Pressurisation Unit Aquatech Pressmain s Pressurisation Unit at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama has been keeping the students warm for 28 years. Quality and reliability have always been important to Aquatech Pressmain, proved by the fact that the unit still has it s original pump and expansion vessel. An Estate Manager s dream. The unit has benefitted from inspections and maintenance every six months provided by AGM, Aquatronic Group Management Plc, owners of the Aquatech Pressmain brand. UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK Location: Coventry, UK Client: University of Warwick Product: Bespoke Pressurisation Unit The technical team from Aquatech Pressmain were asked to assist the estates team of Warwick University and their consulting engineers Couch Perry Wilkes to overcome a unique issue with pressurising the university campus heating system. The challenge was to pressurise the system utilising two sealed system pressurisation units, in two plant rooms located on opposite sides of the system, something quite unusual, but essential to the university team to provide system redundancy in the event of maintenance down time of either of the two plant rooms. Taking into consideration ordinance differences in the location of the two pressurisation units, each unit was set up with different pressure differentials in the controls systems to balance the system and then commissioned back into service. The project included the redevelopment of the 1937 Odeon cinema retaining many of its art deco features. The site had a historic water management problem which due to their knowledge and expertise Aquatech Pressmain were able to solve. They designed and Installed pumps and a large collection tank to hold excess rainwater, allowing the centre to manage the water, releasing it into the main drains when appropriate, preventing any local flooding. Storyhouse is set to welcome a million visitors in its first 12 months and has been nominated for numerous awards. 14
