2 Follow in the footsteps of Secret Agent 007 James Bond From October 1968 to May 1969, the Schilthorn was a pivotal film location for the iconic James Bond movie "On Her Majesty s Secret Service". The revolving restaurant served as arch-villain Blofeld s headquarters and was called Piz Gloria a name it has kept to the present day. Opened in 2013, the BOND WORLD interactive exhibition on the first floor of the summit centre addresses seven of the film s key scenes and provides general background information such as a world map featuring all BOND locations. The tour through the attraction allows visitors to immerse themselves in the movie and discover film-related details and trivia, catch a glimpse of the original screenplay and try out their own James Bond skills. All the key scenes are represented from James throwing his hat skilfully onto the coat hook in Miss Moneypenny s office to the exhilarating bobsleigh ride. Personal BOND moments also beckon in the helicopter simulator in the original chassis of a decommissioned Air Glaciers Alouette III that flew to the Schilthorn on its very last flight. Constructed from steel and glass with a grated floor, the square design blends seamlessly into the landscape around the exposed Birg station and the irregular rocky landscape. From the Birg terrace, the cliff pathway THRILL WALK leads down into the vertical walls of the imposing rock massif. The steel structure clings to the rock, and then swings under the observation platform and the cable car to end below the cable car station.

Travelling from Interlaken to the nearest piste takes just 45 minutes by public transport. And with the 2-seater chairlift from Allmiboden to the Allmendhubel, winter sports fans can get from the gentle slopes at Maulerhubel and Winteregg quickly and comfortably to the other side of the village and the precipitous pistes in the Schiltgrat Gimmeln area, or back down to the cable car waiting to ascend to Birg and the Schilthorn. Unleash your inner ski racer and take advantage of the kind of in-depth post-race analysis the pros enjoy. The ski movie slope is equipped with two fully automatic video cameras to film your entire run from start to finish and record your race time. Schilthorn area a freeriders and speed gliders mecca Accessible via cableway, the backcountry surrounding the Piz Gloria boasts several phenomenal freeride runs. In fact, those in the know rate the Schilthorn area as something of an insider tip. Schilthorn Cableway maintains a long-term collaboration with the internationally known local freerider Sascha Schmid, with the aim of enhancing the destination s exposure in freeriding circles. Measures that have already been put in place include camps and training sessions, joint appearances and a strong presence in the freeriding scene. There are clear rules in freeriding, and safety always has top priority. A checkpoint giving recommendations and up to date information on prevailing conditions has been set up on the Schilthorn. SKYLINE SNOWPARK The SKYLINE SNOWPARK is quite simply the place to be if you re a freeskier or snowboarder. The facility is located by the Kandahar ski lift, and it's ready for you to pull out your daring tricks as soon as the season kicks off. Running parallel to the ski piste, you will find two beginner and medium-level lines. Sufficient snow depth provided, we will also be opening a pro line for freestyle aces. Numerous kickers, rails and boxes guarantee spectacular jumps and adrenaline-packed fun at all difficulty levels. Annually recurring fixtures such as the training camp with the Hunziker brothers, the Acrobag tour stop and the legendary QParks tour ensure plenty of winter fun. 6 Racing the devil s downhill Call it hair-raising, diabolical or just plain crazy at Mürren s International Inferno Race, 1850 intrepid skiers launch themselves down the mountain in the world s most spectacular everyman and everywoman ski event. This certainly isn t a race for the faint-hearted or the unfit. The course runs from the Schilthorn down to the valley, which, in good conditions, equals 14.9 gruelling kilometres to Lauterbrunnen. Started in 1928 by a daredevil group of English skiing pioneers, the longest amateur ski race in the world remains enduringly and overwhelmingly popular.
