1 BUNGEE JUMPING Whistler Bungee is British Columbia s highest and most pristine year-round bungee jumping site, located 15 min south of Whistler Village, off HWY 99. Options Chest/Waist Harness: Jumping with a chest and waist harness provides both superior comfort and safety at the same time. The chest and waist harness keeps you in an upright position throughout the rebounds and allows you to see more of the canyon while you are waiting to be retrieved. Different cords can be used for this type of jump to either give a faster, higher rebound or a softer, slower rebound. Ankle Harness: The traditional way to jump, gives the ultimate adrenaline rush as you fall head first towards the river. We always use a softer cord for this type of jump so there is less of a jolt on your body when the cord engages. The waist harness provides a secondary safety harness and allows you to be upright while you are being retrieved. Tandem Harness: Too scared to jump by yourself? Or maybe you re the romantic type. Jump tandem at Whistler Bungee. Both jumpers are put in individual harnesses hooked separately to the cord, then hooked together. We recommend that the couple do not weigh more than 350 lbs unless you don't mind getting a little wet. Disabilities: The great thing about Bungee Jumping is that almost anybody can do it, including people with disabilities. The only thing that you need to be able to do is have pretty good finger and hand dexterity so that you can attach the retrieval line to the harness system. If you want to go jump in your wheel chair, we first put you in a waist and chest harness, then we rig a separate harness system for the wheelchair. This way we put all the force on the chair and none on the person (not causing damage to the wheelchair in any way). The easiest way to do this is to have three strong people pick you up and throw you over the railing. Tons of Fun. ICE SKATING Ice Skating Whistler Olympic Plaza Each winter a special ice skating rink opens in Whistler Olympic Plaza, where you can go ice skating in the heart of Whistler Village with views of the surrounding mountains, the Olympic Rings and thousands of twinkling festive lights. DATES AND HOURS FOR WINTER 2018/19 Rink is normally open from December March. Check back closer to winter for dates and times. Skate and Helmet rentals are $5 for both. Ice Skating Alta or Green Lakes When it s cold enough, out come the snow shovels to clear a place for ice skating on Alta and Green Lakes in Whistler. Ice Skating Meadow Park Recreation Centre Whistlers Meadow Park Recreation Centre has public drop-in skating times and skate hire. 8 CAT SKIING & SNOWBOARDING The anticipation starts when you meet up with the maximum of 11 other people in your group. You'll be talking about all the turns you're going to make, how much fun you are going to have, all the face shots you're going to get, all the stuff you are going to jump off. Sitting in the cat as it climbs up the mountain you look out the window. You see the snow getting deeper and deeper as you get closer to the powder runs, and you get butterflies. 17 PUBLIC SKELETON (WINTER ONLY) Winter Tours Your Skeleton Slide Experience begins with a sport orientation, including helmet fitting, sled familiarization, track etiquette, safety guidelines and a mock run. After orientation staff will escort you to the start position, also known as the Maple Leaf Start situated 1/3 of the way up the track. With a final safety check and briefing from the Whistler Sliding Centre Track Crew, you'll be ready for action! A Track Crew member will secure the sled while you climb on and ready yourself. The green light signals your release and you're off! As you navigate your way down the track's six corners, expect to reach a maximum speed of 100 km/hr. The uphill outrun will slow you to a safe stop at the finish dock, where the Track Crew will assist with the sled and your safe exist.
