1 Winter/Spring Calendar of Events November Nov 1 st ~ Grand Teton National Park Winter Road Closures: The Teton Park Road from Taggart Lake Trailhead to the Signal Mountain Lodge and the Moose-Wilson Road from the Death Canyon Trailhead to the Granite Canyon Trailhead are closed to motorized vehicles from November 1-April 30. Visit: Dec 17 th ~ Elk Refuge Sleigh Rides Opening Day When: 10:00am-4:00pm Where: Sleigh rides depart every 20 minutes from the Jackson Hole Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center located at 532 North Cache St. Sleigh rides run through the beginning of April (weather permitting). More Info: Closed on Christmas Day. Visit: Contact: Dec 22 nd ~ 2017 Yellowstone Oversnow Openings Conditions permitting East Entrance Road (from East to Lake Butte) will open at 8:00am. Visit: Dec 31 st ~ Jackson Hole Mountain Resort s New Year s Eve Celebration When: 4:45pm Where: Meet at the Kids Ranch More Info: Festivities start with the Kids' Glow Worm Parade at 5:30pm on Teewinot Run. Note: Kids up to 14-years old, who are comfortable skiing Teewinot, are welcome to participate in the Glow Worm Parade. The parade on Teewinot Run begins at 5:30pm. Come dressed with skis and boots - no poles please! Younger kids will do a shorter parade before older kids. Participation is free and sign up is not required. Parents are not allowed to accompany child skiers. The JHMR staff will put on the traditional Torchlight Parade on Apres-Vous at 6:00pm followed by a renowned fireworks display over Teton Village. Visit: Contact: Dec 31 s ~ Grand Targhee New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade When: 4:00pm to register, 5:30pm parade Where: Slopeside More Info: Come watch or participate in our Torchlight Parade. The Kid's Glowstick Parade is perfect for kids between 5 and 14 who possess basic turning and stopping skills. Participation is limited. Register early. Kids meet at 4:00pm and their parade starts at 4:30pm. Registration is throughout the day at Ski School for the Torchlight Parade. Adult's Torchlight parade is open to skiers and riders 12 and up and space is limited. Roadside flares are used and old clothing is recommended. Meet at 4:45pm at the Ski School and parade starts at 5:30pm. Fireworks show immediately to follow. Contact: 800.TARGHEE or Dec 31 st ~ Snow King Mountain Torchlight Parade and Fireworks When: Torch Light Parade at 6:15pm, Fireworks at 7:00pm More Info: Snow King Mountain will celebrate New Year's Eve with their annual torchlight parade and fireworks! At 5:45pm community participants (who are expert skiers), Snow King Ski Patrol, Ski School attendees, and others will gather at the base and ride the lift to the top of the mountain and zig-zag down in a brilliant parade carrying fire torches. At the end of the parade, a fireworks display will celebrate the New Year with a bang! Visit: Contact: KING January

Meet the mushers and sled dogs! Visitors are invited to see the teams off at the Opening Ceremony in Jackson Hole Town Square which will include refreshments and fireworks. Visit: Contact: Feb 18 th 19 th ~ Shriner s All American 46 th Cutter Races When: Starts at 12:30pm on both days Where: Melody Ranch More Info: A locals favorite event, the community tailgates in Melody Ranch to catch up on mid-winter news and to have some fun! 40 cutter teams will be selected and 20 races will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Cold beer and hot food are available. Proceeds benefit the Salt Lake City Shriners Hospital for Children. The Salt Lake City Shriners Hospital for Children services the children of the Jackson Hole community. This is the premier Nordic race includes a 30k (that skis like a 50k), 15k, 5k, 3k and a free 1k. Athletes can skate or classic ski the course. All ages are welcome. Mar 25 th ~ Karen Oatey Annual Pole-Pedal- Paddle When: See Website Where: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort More Info: The Pole Pedal Paddle is a tradition in Jackson Hole, held this year on the 2nd to last Saturday of skiing at JHMR. The four-event race for individuals or teams consists of an alpine ski leg, a cross-country ski leg, a bicycle leg, and a boating leg. The Pole Pedal Paddle is a fundraising event for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club.
