Stop kiting immediately when a storm or lightning is approaching. Safe traction kiting: Traction kites are no toys, they should not be fl own by inexperienced persons and certainly not by children. Learn to fl y kites with smaller sizes and start in light winds. Never use kites or this product for paragliding or parachuting. Never use any type of kite or this product for jumping off high places like hills or cliffs or for any other manlifting activity. lways use fully protective gear when landboarding, snowkiting or buggy riding. Prior to every use of this product, fully check your bar (and fl ying lines) for any signs of wear and tear. Replace parts immediately if needed. Prior to every use of this product, check if your safety releases are still working properly. In case the safety release does not work as it should, do not use this product and replace parts if needed. Only use this product for kiteboarding, landboarding and snowkiting. o not use this product when your body weight is over 130kg (285lbs). 3 ttaching the flying lines ttach the top lines to top line attachments (), attach the rear lines to the rear leader lines (). For top line attachments (marked in figure above) Place a larkshead knot in the sleeve of the fl ying line and slide it over the knot on the top line attachment. Tighten the larkshead knot, and slide it against the end knot. The other top line can now be attached to the other attachment point. For rear line attachments (marked in figure above) Slide the sleeve on the end of the fl ying line () through the ring attached to the lower part of the side leader line () and place the loop on the top part of the leader line () through the sleeve (). Slide the red webbing loop () through the loop on the end of the top part of the leader line (). Pull the knot tight, pull the leader line through, so the ring on the red webbing () sits against the ring on the lower part of the leader lines (). Wrap the Velcro on the red webbing loop () around the lower part of the leader line just above the fl oater. 3
Setting up the safety leash To suit your personal preference, you can set up your safety leash in two different ways as well as choose to attach it either to the left or right side of the bar. ttaching the leash to the side leader lines Slide the loop on the end of the leash through the ring attached to the self landing handle (not the ring attached to the lower part of the leader lines). Take the other end of the leash (with quick release and clip) and slide it through the loop. Pull the larkshead tight. Guiding the leash Running the leash through the center ttach the Velcro connection piece on the leash to the Velcro connection point just above the black stopper ball on the depower line. Slide the Velcro connection piece over the leash so it sits on the lower leash positioning piece. Running the leash to the side Make sure the extra Velcro leash side connector is attached to the left or right fl oater as desired. Place the Velcro connection piece on the leash to the Velcro side connector on the fl oater. Slide the Velcro connection piece over the leash so it sits on the higher leash positioning piece. hanging the tension on the leash If the leash is too tight or too slack, you can slide the Velcro connection piece over the leash so it sits on or next to the leash positioning pieces. ttaching the leash to the depower loop or spreader bar To have the leash automatically spinning around the depower line, attach the leash clip to the spinning connection point on the depower loop. If desired, the leash can also be clipped onto the spreader bar or harness. 4
Extra features Power adjuster The power adjuster enables you to adjust the overall power of the kite. To reduce the overall power of the kite: Pull the part of the webbing loop coming out of the bottom of the clip towards you. To increase the overall power of the kite: Pull the part of the webbing loop attached to the small ring on the top of the clip. Pull this end of the loop towards you and release. epower loop lock When using the depower loop lock it ensures that the depower loop stays hooked in when the tension is off your top lines. To use the depower loop lock, after hooking in stick the small piece of tube through your harness hook, so it sits under your depower loop. To remove the depower loop lock, undo the Velcro on the depower loop lock. Self landing handles For easy self landing of the kite, you can use the self landing handles. Grab the handle and unhook your depower loop or activate your depower loop quick release. fter using the self landing handles, pull back the line through the ring on the lower part of the leader line and set the self landing handles back in place by wrapping the Velcro around the lower part of the leader lines. aution! When self landing while activating your safety system grab the self landing handle where the leash is attached to! When self landing while unhooking your depower loop grab the self landing handle without the leash attached to it! 5
djusting top/rear lines If you want to adjust your bar to change the line length difference between the top and rear lines, this can easily be done just above the power adjusting strap. Slide up the neoprene cover. Partially undo the larkshead knot. Move the double line with the knots through the larkshead to the desired position. Pull the larkshead tight and slide the neoprene cover back over. Storing your bar fter winding up the fl ying lines, use the elastic loops just below the fl oaters to secure the lines to the bar. djusting bar movement To adjust the amount your bar can move along the depower line, adjust the ball position by using the llen key provided. o not over tighten! Only tighten the screw partially until the ball cannot move along the line anymore. Make sure the ball is positioned minimum 12cm (4 3 /4 inch) from the release cuff to ensure the safety system working properly. Make sure the ball is minimum 4cm (1 1 /2 inch) from the neoprene cover at the power adjuster, to ensure the Velcro connection point can spin freely. min.12cm min. 4cm Replacing/adjusting your depower line If you want set the depower line to be longer or shorter, or to replace it, you need to make sure the line is attached to the triangle ring on the power adjuster with a bowline knot
Safety releases When things get out of hand you might want to use your safety release. The Zero7 pro carbon bar is fi tted with a primary release on the depower loop, and a secondary release on the leash. When things get out of hand, use the primary quick release on the depower loop fi rst. You will now lose the power of the kite without losing the kite itself, because only one side of the kite is supported. If you need to totally disconnect yourself from the kite, activate the secondary quick release on the leash afterwards. ctivating the primary quick release ctivating the secondary quick release To activate the primary quick release on the depower loop, grab the red release cuff just above the loop and push it forward. To activate the secondary quick release on the end of the leash, grab the webbing with tube on the leash quick release. Firmly pull it towards you. Re-connecting the primary quick release Slide the double metal pin () through the ring attached to the depower loop (). Fold the pin () around the ring () and slide the release cuff () down, over the double pin () as well as the pin attached to the ring on the depower loop (). Grab the depower line () and release cuff () and pull them apart fi rmly to ensure a tight fi t. Re-connecting the secondary quick release E Slide the end loop on the line () through the small hole in the clip (). Place the pin () through the end loop () and fold it back up. Wrap the Velcro () around the pin () and leash fi rmly and secure the extended webbing piece (E) in place. 7
Tips for use Make sure you regularly check your bar for wear and tear. Especially have a regular checkup on the depower loop, all quick releases, depower line, power adjusting strap and line attachments. efore launching, always check that your quick releases are in working order. Make sure they are properly secured so you will not be surpised after launching the kite. efore launching, check that your lines are clear and the leash is not tangled around or through the power adjusting strap. When reaching the water, before starting your kiteboarding session, splash some water on your bar to rinse off sand that has stuck to it. Especially the depower line, power adjusting strap and hole in the bar need to be sand free, reducing the wear on these parts. heck Velcro connections regularly. In a rare occasion, for example after a hard crash, the Velcro connections, such as the might get undone. When riding, it is recommended to use the depower loop lock. This ensures your depower loop staying hooked in when the tension is off your fl ying lines, and therefore the leash staying connected to you.
