This year I expect Andrew Utama, Pete Donahue and Matt Harmon to lead the way in an event that we look to continue to improve in throughout the year." Breaststroke Notes Andrew Utama Meyer s school and league record in the 200 breast is 1: Utama s top time in the 100 breast (56.49) ranks eighth in Navy history... holding top-10 times at Navy in the 200 breast are Pete Donahue (fifth, 2:02.38) and Andrew Utama (10th, 2:03.26)... Utama tied for second in the 200 breast and placed third in the 100 breast at the 2009 Patriot League Championship. Bill Roberts on the Backstroke "With the graduation of Billy Vey and Kyle Abner, we will look for new people to score points this season. Andrew Hetzner is coming off an outstanding year. The potential for us to get stronger in the backstroke events depends on how well our returning backstrokers improve from week to week." Backstroke Notes Hetzner set the school and league record in winning the 200 back at the 2009 Patriot League Championship (1:45.35)... he also has posted four of the top-eight times at Navy in the 100 back... Middle/Long Distance Freestyle Notes In addition to holding the top-two Navy times in the 200 free, Mac Anthony also ranks second in school history in the 500 free... Erik Hunter competed in the 500 and 1650 free events at last year s NCAA Championship... Aaron Aiken ranks third and fifth at Navy in the 200 free... Sam Martinette has posted top-10 Navy times in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free events... James Lascara has tallied a pair of top-10 times at the school in the 500 free. Diving Returners Tanner Bosch two top-3 finishes on 3M last year Bryan Gentz competed at 08 EISL Meet Ben Nicholas 3rd on 3M, 4th on 1M at 09 PL Meet Olaf Olson 08 EISL Co-Diver of the Year, 09 PL Diver of the Year Newcomers David Kennedy Joe Suriano on the Divers Erik Hunter Olaf Olson Olaf Olson is our top returning diver from last season. He is a talented diver who continues to improve in all three events. Olaf will be very tough to beat in the East. Ben Nicholas is a strong diver and a great jumper. He has a great deal of potential. Bryan Gentz is really going to push both Olaf and Ben this season. Diving Notes Navy divers placed on the three meter and on the one meter at the 2009 Patriot League Championship... Olaf Olson won both league titles to be tabbed as the league diver of the year... he will be looking to duplicate the post-season success of 2009 graduate Jon Galinski who was second on both boards at the Patriot League Meet before qualifying for the 2009 NCAA Championship. Individual Medley Notes Erik Hunter, who holds the Navy and Patriot League record in the 400 IM, competed in the event at the 2009 NCAA Championship...
