2 0- NAVY SWMMNG & DVNG 0- Men s Team Season Outlook Overall Outlook u of 7 0- letterwinners u of 7. individual event points scored at the 0 Patriot League Championship u 7 of. individual event points scored at the 0 ECAC Championship u Navy welcomes newcomers to its program Bill Roberts on the Overall Outlook Each season presents new challenges, with this year being no different. We are fully aware that the Class of 0 left behind a strong legacy. They were a very committed group that helped raise the bar for the program in their final season. All that said, we are confident in this group and look forward to seeing them grow and develop over the course of the season. This group is excited at the challenge left behind by the Class of 0. They understand it will take a coordinated effort that includes all of the primary components of building a successful program and that this will not be easy. However, they are ready for the challenge of placing their own mark within the history of our program. Backstroke u David Carlson u Shane Condon (0 ECAC 00 back: th) u Tom Hetzel (0 ECAC 00 back: 0th) u Ethan King (0 ECAC 00 back: th; 00 back: th) u Joe Lane (0 PL 00 back: st; 00 back: nd) u Alex Nickell u Dennis Rusiewski (0 ECAC 00 back: th) u Brendan Walsh (0 PL 00 back: nd; 00 back: th) u William Rittenhouse Bill Roberts on the Backstroke Joe Lane and Brendan Walsh are expected to be our most competitive swimmers in the backstroke events. Both are coming off breakthrough seasons as we look forward to seeing their continued progress in the 0- campaign. We also have several swimmers who will provide consistent support, including David Carlson, Shane Condon, Thomas Hetzel and D.J. Rusiewski. Breaststroke u Marlin Brutkiewicz (0 ECAC 00 breast: st; 00 breast: st) u Morgan De Jong (0 PL 00 breast: th) u Harold Choo u Miles Oakley u Mathias Porter u Young Tae Seo Bill Roberts on the Breaststroke This was one of strongest events for us during 0- year, with a terrific combination of new and veteran athletes led by NCAA competitors Sean Murphy and Luke Hoffer. All three members from the Class of 0 were a conference champion on at least one occasion. Despite the loss, we are very excited about the prospects of the returning swimers in the breaststroke events. Marlin Brutkiewicz was a summer National qualifier and participant who came on very well last year. Morgan DeJong also had a very solid plebe season and we are expecting great things from him this year, as well. Those swimmers expecting to provide additional depth include returner Eric Collins along with newcomers Harold Choo and Mathias Porter. Clancy u Jay DeLancey u Miles Oakley u Jacob Pavlock u William Rittenhouse u Young Tae Seo Bill Roberts on the Butterfly Our top flyer from a season ago, Jonathan DeBaugh, is back and expected to continue to develop. Jon did a terrific job last year, both with training / preparation and with his racing. He was able to put together some high quality performances for the program last winter. Providing additional depth in the longer fly event will be Noah Martin, Bryson Mays and Young Tae Seo. Ryan Bailey, Michael Bundas, J.P. Clancy and Hayes McCullagh will do the same in the shorter butterfly distance.

Clancy u Connor Davis u Jay DeLancey u Joseph Jaime u Steve Miller u Miles Oakley Bill Roberts on the Sprint Freestyle Many of our event leaders in the freestyle events return this season. n the shorter events, Dain Bomberger was a summer national participant and is expected to lead the way for Navy through 0. Dain earned his way to become an individual school record holder last February. He showed tremendous resolve last season to eventually earn that distinction. We could not be more proud of Dain and look forward to working with him again. Following Dain, this will be a growth event for us this year due to graduation. Several returning and new team members will be expected to develop into their own rather quickly, which includes Michael Bundas, J.P. Clancy, Connor Davis, Jay DeLancey, Miles Oakley, Jacob Pavlock and D.J. Rusiewski. We have been in this position before where it is going to take some time before we are as competitive as we would like in previous seasons, but we are confident that several of the above listed team members will grow into their own this season. Clancy u Joseph Jaime u Steve Miller u Kenny Parker u Jacob Pavlock u Ethan Whitaker Bill Roberts on the Middle & Distance Freestyle Nearly every front line middle distance freestyler returns for the program. Kevin Stoddard, Nathan Stinson, Noah Martin, Riley Mita, Alex Nickell, Shane Condon and Sam Ciocco as a whole did very, very well last season. They are an excellent group to work with who make for a very competitive training group day in and day out. who will be in the mix almost immediately include Joseph Jaime, Stephen Miller and Ethan Whitaker. Leading the way in the middle distance freestyle events will be Tom Duvall, who has been nothing short of fantastic in his first two seasons. The key and challenge for Tom and the entire group is to be consistent and aggressive in their approach to their goals. They, including Tom, do have awesome potential for more growth and development which is an exciting prospect. Several of the same names will see most of the action in the longer freestyle events this year. Adding additional depth to our distance line up will be Kenny Parker. This is an event which we feel was good at times last season. As coaches, we are responsible for their preparation and will look to approach this with greater urgency this season with hopes and expectations to be consistently competitive week in and week out and through the championship season. Leading the way for Navy in the individual medley will be returner Alex Nickell and newcomers William Rittenhouse and Young Tae Seo. Returning team members who will score points for us are Marlin Brutkiewicz, Harold Choo, Eric Collins, Morgan DeJong, Thomas Hetzel, Bryson Mays, Hayes McCullagh and Mathias Porter.
