Newberry St. York, PA Day of meet emergency phone # The Graham Aquatic Center is a new indoor facility, which will be configured for eight 25-yard lanes for competition (6 depth at the start end and 5 depth at the turn end), and six additional 25-yard lanes for continuous warm-up/ warm-down (5 depth at both ends). The competition course has not been certified in accordance with C(4). Permanent bleacher seating for 750+; spacious deck area for swimmers, coaches and officials. Daktronics OmniSport 2000 timing system with LED matrix scoreboard. Hy-Tek Meet Manager 4.0 software. Concession area with promenade overlooking competitive pool; with free Wi-Fi. 2 ELIGIBILITY This meet is open to any swimmer currently registered with USA Swimming. Unregistered swimmers may register on deck at this meet by turning in the athlete registration form and payment to the meet director. The cost of registering on deck is double the normal fee ($120 per swimmer for registration.) This applies to all swimmers attached to a club. A swimmer s age on the first day of competition determines the age group that the swimmer will compete in for the entire competition. SWIMMERS WITH DISABILITIES Swimmers with disabilities are welcome to enter this meet. A coach or team representative must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted. A swimmer may swim a maximum of four (4) events per day. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit entries, events or heats, or to modify the meet format to conform to Middle Atlantic rules. Swimmers or teams eliminated from the meet due to time or space constraints will be given a full refund. ENTRY LIMITS Depending upon the number of entries, as a time-saving measure, the meet director also reserves the right to combine certain events into multi-age group events. Under that scenario, multiple age-groups would swim together, but scoring and awards would still be broken down by age group. If time and space permit, deck entries may be accepted at the discretion of the meet director. Deck entries do count towards a swimmer s maximum number of events per day total. This meet will be divided into sessions based on USA Swimming s motivational time standards, and it also includes a distance session each day. Swimmers with one or fewer A times will swim in the morning sessions, while swimmers with two or more A times will be eligible to swim ALL of their events in the A & Faster evening sessions. The distance sessions are open to all swimmers. EVENTS / SESSIONS This meet will be entirely deck seeded. Coaches will be given a list of their team s entries at the beginning of warm-ups for each session, and they are asked to scratch any swimmer who will NOT be competing. The order of events is attached. All events are timed finals. Swimmers competing in the 500 Freestyle and 400 IM must provide their own timer. Swimmers competing in the 500 Freestyle also need to provide their own counter. The 500 Freestyle and 400 IM will be seeded fast-toslow, and will alternate men and women. ENTRY DEADLINE ENTRY FEES Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:59 PM, or as soon as the meet fills to capacity. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Late entries will not be accepted. $4.00 per event. At the discretion of the meet director, deck entries may be accepted at $8.00 per event. Make checks payable to York YMCA Aquatic Club.

3 Electronic entries shall be submitted using Hy-Tek or compatible software. Entries for which a swimmer has no time shall be entered as NT. Electronic entries shall be ed to nater284@gmail.com. Entries shall be submitted in the course in which they were achieved. Entries submitted with short course or long course meters times will be considered non-conforming times and they will be seeded after the yards entry times. ENTRIES If time and space permit, deck entries may be accepted at the discretion of the meet director. Deck entries do count towards a swimmer s maximum number of events per day total. Swimmers not already entered in the meet must provide proof current of USA Swimming registration. As per Middle Atlantic rules, a $15 per swimmer fee will be assessed for all entries submitted on paper rather than electronically. An additional $25 per swimmer fee will be charged to any team submitting entries for five (5) or more swimmers manually. Electronic entries will be considered the official entries. Electronic data supersedes any information contained on teams entry printouts with respect to resolution of errors/discrepancies. There will be 14 lanes available. Team warm-up lanes will not be assigned. Continuous warm-up/ warm-down will be available in the 6-lane portion of the pool throughout the meet. Swimmers without a coach should report to the meet director upon arrival. SWIMMERS WITHOUT A COACH Swimmers without a coach, who are 12 & Under, will swim with and be supervised by the host club during warm-up. They are also welcome to sit with the host team during the meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start, or else they must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

4 SCRATCH RULE SWIMMER SEATING/ STAGING Coaches will be given a list of their team s entries at the beginning of warmups for each session, and they will be asked to scratch any swimmer who will NOT be competing. There will NOT be a penalty assessed to swimmers who are not scratched but do not compete. However, we do ask that coaches do their best to ensure that all non-competing swimmers are scratched so as to eliminate as many open lanes as possible. Swimmer seating will be available on the pool deck, and in ½ of the bleachers on the south side of the pool. This meet will be conducted according to current USA swimming rules and safety procedures. This meet will be conducted using the whistle command and no-recall false start procedures. Fly-over starts will be used at this meet in all sessions. Except for backstroke events, all swimmers should remain in the water at the completion of their race until the next race begins. No diving will be permitted during warm-ups, except limited diving from the starting block end in announced sprint lanes. When diving is permitted, the swimmer must enter from the starting block end and exit from the opposite end of the pool. All entries must be feet-first other than the above mentioned. Sprint lanes will typically open no later than 30 minutes prior to the end of each warm-up session. RULES / SAFETY Swimmers violating safety procedures will be removed from the warm-up for the remainder of the warm-up session. Subsequent violations may cause the swimmer to be disqualified from the remainder of the meet. ANY SWIMMER OBSERVED SWIMMING UNDER THE BULKHEAD BY AN OFFICIAL OR SAFETY MONITOR AT THE MEET WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THAT SWIMMER S NEXT INDIVIDUAL EVENT, OR FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE MEET, AS DETERMINED BY THE MEET REFEREE. THIS POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. NO SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK AT ANY TIME. Swimmers are not permitted to be in the spectator seating at any time. Swimmers and parents may meet in the café area of the building. Deck access is limited to swimmers, coaches, officials and meet volunteers. Officials and coaches must display their USA Swimming ID cards to be permitted on the pool deck. RECORDING BAN The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, locker rooms, or behind the starting blocks. RESULTS Final results will be posted at and within 48 hours of the conclusion of the meet. Realtime results will be available at Final results will also be ed to the team representatives that submit the entries.

5 Awards are presented for each event. Deck-entered swims are not eligible for awards. "A & Faster" Awards: Medals: 1st to 3rd Ribbons: 4th to 8th AWARDS "BB & Slower" Awards: Rosettes: 1st to 3rd Ribbons: 4th to 8th "Distance" Awards: Double Ribbons: 1st to 3rd Ribbons: 4th to 8th There will be no awards for the Senior/Open age group. PROGRAMS & ADMISSION VENDORS HOSPITALITY DIRECTIONS Admission $5.00. Children under 5 admitted free. Free admission to all volunteers. One meet program per family will be included in the cost of admission. Vendors will be on-site, selling meet t-shirts and swimming equipment. There will be food and drinks available at all sessions for coaches and officials. See next page. The Hampton Inn York is the official hotel for York YMCA hosted meets. ACCOMODATIONS 1550 Mt. 6 Directions to Graham Aquatic Center Note: The following directions will lead you directly to the Graham Aquatic Center, which is where swimmers may be dropped off. However, parking for the facility is located on Parkway Boulevard. There will be additional parking available at Met-Ed, and along the streets. There is easy access to the facility from the parking area via a pedestrian path and bridge. The address of the facility is 543 North Newberry Street, York, PA From northbound Interstate 83: Take Interstate 83 north to PA Exit 21 B (US Route 30 West). At the end of the ramp, merge onto US Route 30. Proceed on Route 30 west to the first traffic signal at North George Street. Turn left onto George and proceed for approximately a mile. After you pass a cemetery on the right, you will come to a traffic signal at Parkway Boulevard. Turn right and follow Parkway for about a half mile to North Newberry Street. Turn left onto Newberry. The pool will be on the left; Kiwanis Lake will be on the right. From southbound Interstate 83: Take Interstate 83 south to PA Exit 22 (North George Street). At the end of the ramp, turn right onto George Street. NOTE: Follow signs for Route 30. The first right towards the end of the ramp will be Lightner Road. Go past Lightner, and turn right at the traffic light onto George. Proceed on George across US Route 30 and continue for approximately a mile. After you pass a cemetery on the right, you will come to a traffic signal at Parkway Boulevard. Turn right and follow Parkway for about a half mile to North Newberry Street. Turn left onto Newberry. The pool will be on the left; Kiwanis Lake will be on the right. From eastbound US Route 30: Follow US Route 30 east into the light cycle in York. After you pass several Apple car dealerships on the right, you will come to a traffic signal at Roosevelt Avenue. There will be a Denny s on the left corner. Turn right and follow Roosevelt approximately a half mile to Parkway Boulevard. Turn left onto Parkway and continue for about a half mile until you proceed through a traffic signal and pass Kiwanis Lake on the right. Immediately after you pass the lake, turn right onto North Newberry Street. The pool will be on the left; Kiwanis Lake will still be on the right. From westbound US Route 30: Follow US Route 30 west into the light cycle in York. The first traffic signal after you pass under Interstate 83 will be North George Street. Turn left onto George and continue for approximately a mile. After you pass a cemetery on the right, you will come to a traffic signal at Parkway Boulevard. Turn right and follow Parkway for about a half mile to North Newberry Street. Turn left onto Newberry. The pool will be on the left; Kiwanis Lake will be on the right. From southbound PA Route 74: Follow PA Route 74 south past US Route 30 and continue until you pass the York Fair on the right. At the first traffic signal immediately after the fairgrounds, turn left onto Madison Avenue. Proceed on Madison until it ends at North Newberry Street. Farquhar Park will be to the right of the intersection. Turn left onto Newberry. The pool will be on the right; Kiwanis Lake will be on the left. Parking Graham Aquatic Center

Swimmers may be dropped off at the circular entrance located at 543 North Newberry Street. There is also limited handicapped parking at this location. Upon drop-off, cars may proceed to any of the parking areas detailed below. Please secure all valuables when you park. PLEASE NOTE: PARKING IN ALL LOTS MUST BE IN LINED SPACES ONLY.
