While a match is in progress, players may not have discussions with anyone other than his/her coach or playing partner. Violation of an ineligible coach coaching or being involved with the competing player(s) will be considered gross misconduct, and the team penalized a one point team deduction. There will be no warning for this penalty. (IHSA terms & Conditions (V.,E.,3.) Please make sure parents are aware of this rule. 2. Any spectator or team member needing to communicate with a player while a match is in progress should do so only through the coach. 3. A competitor will not have the right to a third party appeal for any point or game point penalty until a match penalty has been levied. Until then, the only appeal is to the person calling the penalty. 4. Any Code violation against a player is cumulative for the duration of the tennis tournament. 5. Any violation by a doubles player is a violation of that doubles team, not just the offending player. 6. Any player, who at the conclusion of the match, exhibits gross misconduct, which includes profane or obscene language or gestures and unsportsmanlike conduct, may cause that player s team to be penalized one team point toward the meet championship. This team penalty takes effect only if the offending player(s) has no more matches to play. If another match is scheduled, the offending player(s) will begin down either one point or one game.
